Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Bamboo Bronzer Brush

Love! These brushes last forever, they're super soft, they NEVER SHED (OMG, unbelievable!), cheap, eco friendly and there's no dye or funny smell coming out when you wash them. Best brushes at the drugstore! If you live in Canada, get these over Quo, they're way better. My only gripe is that there aren't more shapes, boo =( I want more ecotools brushes.

Concealers -Maybelline - Fit Me

This is such a weird concealer (in a good way!); I hated it at first because I thought it wasn't full coverage enough but you kind of have to think backwards with this concealer. You almost have to stop avoiding cakeyness to get it to work.. if that makes sense. Not that you need to use more, just don't blend as much. I stipple it on acne spots and only blend the edges, then press powder over with a sponge or puff. This would normally make my makeup look horrible and really noticeable but with this is still looks reeeeeally natural but covers the spot completely. It also lasts throughout the day with powder and doesn't break me out (which is super important as it's the reason for me trying it.) So, I really like it! It's worth the hype and worth a try! I wear it without foundation too and it makes my skin look flawless. This might be my HG...

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray

This is a pretty good heat protectant. I can definitely attest to the quality of the product. Not sticky or greasy, it barely feels like you have anything in your hair which is fantastic and the nozzle sprays a very fine, even mist. Best heat protectant at the drugstore. I just haaaate the smell omg, so gross. I will definitely repurchase if I can't find something similar with a different smell but if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate them! I'd definitely pay more for a better smell.

Styling Products -KMS California - Curl-Up Curling Balm
rated 5 of 5

Although I don't use this very often (too lazy to style my hair) it has earned a well deserved spot in my very, very small arsenal of products. It's not sicky or crunchy like a gel but isn't heavy like a cream, just a nice, light, balm with a pleasant texture and smell. I don't at all think this deserves the bad reviews it's getting.

Conditioner -Kiss My Face - Whenever Conditioner
rated 5 of 5

I love this line! It's the only thing in my shower right now because it just never fails me! I use it everyday and I've used it with long hair, short hair, color treated hair, non color treated hair, I've left it to air dry and styled it after and this line just always works. It's everything I need in a shampoo/conditioner duo. It's moisturizing but somehow my hair doesn't get greasy as fast as it used to, it's pH balanced, it's sulfate free and this is the only time I've actually liked the smell of a shampoo/conditioner, not to mention it's cheap! (at least in Canada) Love, love, love. I think everyone should at least try this. I won't buy anything else.

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Dumb Blonde conditioner

HG treatment/conditioner. Love the smell, texture and it's the only non-DIY treatment that gives me real results. Very nourishing and truly hydrating without leaving a ton of grease or residue on the hair. I've been using this for a while and have loved it the since the first use. I used to use this everyday when I had long hair and now that it's short I still use it but as a once a week (or so) treatment. Love! This never fails me.

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi Straight Guard Smoothing Creme
rated 1 of 5
lizzieee007 10/23/2012 10:44:00 PM

I'm not a huge fan of this product. It's good at straightening the hair but I find it very impractical since it doesn't moisturize or offer heat protection. I'm not going to throw it out or give it away, since I have been able to make it work but I won't be repurchasing. The effect that it gives reminds me of the KMS curling balm except for straightening. (I know they have a straightening balm but I haven't tried it.) It's a very thin consistency and it absorbs into the hair really fast without leaving any sort of slick. However, it holds very well and gives that kind of hairspray feeling (but lesser) on the hair. It also has that cologne smell like all the other CHI products. I have fine curly hair and I use it after my detangler (AG leave in detangler) and then straighten my hair with a blow dryer. I wouldn't use it with a straightener but with a blow dryer I think it's okay, as long as you use something moisturizing as well to create a barrier on your hair against the heat. I also tried using it with the SexyHair argan detangler and it made my hair very tacky.. So be careful what you use with it. Maybe you could add this into your routine if you want your hair SUPER straight but it's an unnecessary step. Also if you have straight hair already but want to enhance it (like I do with the KMS curling balm and my curly hair) this might work for you but I tried that on my curly hair and it didn't work for me. Overall I think this product isn't good for the average everyday woman. It's unnecessary and impractical to use.

Conditioner -Infusium 23 - Moisturizing Revitalizing Condition
rated 1 of 5

This should really be renamed as a lightweight smoothing conditioner instead of a heavy duty moisturizing one. It definitely isn't! My hair started breaking off after using it for a while. I think it maybe softens the hair but I don't think it adds anything else.

Styling Products -John Frieda - Flawless Finishing Creme
rated 1 of 5
lizzieee007 6/10/2012 2:02:00 AM

This very wet when you first put it on (which it shouldn't be since it's a finishing cream) but once it dries it almost feels like I hairsprayed the split ends together to temporarily fix them and then put a teeny tiny bit of grease on top to finish it off lol.. My ends are pretty dry and my hair is very fine so it just makes a goopy, wet, tangly mess when I try to use it. Don't buy it. If you need a temporary fix for your split ends just put lotion on them. It works better than this stuff and you don't have to go out and buy something. I've had this for months and still haven't found a use for it. I'll probably just throw it out.

Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - Powder Brush
rated 5 of 5
lizzieee007 3/12/2012 7:54:00 PM

Just a disclaimer: Mine fell apart after having it for a while.. I think I bent the ferule somehow because the handle and the ENTIRE chunk of bristles just randomly came off once when I was washing it lol! It stayed in perfect condition until that point but I thought this might be worth mentioning! So, that aside, I really like this brush! It's as soft as those velvety body shop brushes and is one of the cheapest brush brands I've found in Canada! I find that even the best quality brushes tend to shed when it comes to big powder brushes but this one never did! Not one hair! So that's a huge plus. That's why it's the best powder brush ever. I can't think of anything bad to say about it. It's cheap, applies powder lightly and evenly and it's ecofriendly. (And easy to get in Canada! WHOO!) Even though it fell apart eventually I'll probably just buy another because they're fantastic!
