Makeup Brushes -Ecotools - retractable kabuki
rated 5 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/13/2013 9:22:00 AM

I love this brush. I use it to apply my mineral powder and my setting powder. I absolutely love it. It's very easy to handle. It sheds one or two strands when I wash it. And it takes quite a while to dry compared to my other brushes, but I love it nonetheless. It's very soft and affordable. I'm so happy with it.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
rated 3 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/13/2013 3:56:00 AM

This make up brush is one of the first ones I own. I'm used to eco tools and elf brushes since I'm just a beginner in the world of make up. This was my only foundation brush and I was satisfied with the results. It made a nice finish with my Revlon Colorstay. Although, it could get streaky and you have to keep blending to get a smooth even finish. The shedding was annoying especially for an expensive brush but my stepmother told me that Mac brushes were worth investing on. So I let it be. However, I bought an elf powder brush which is sort of like a flat top kabuki brush and realized it made a better finish with my foundation. And all for 3 dollars? It did a better job than my Mac 187 although it shed too, but I don't feel so bad that it does because of the price. Eco tools also has a duo fibre brush, although I haven't used it for foundation, has never shed on me. So all in all, I'm somewhat disappointed in the product when there are a lot of dupes out there that could provide a better finish or better quality and won't kill your wallet.

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
rated 4 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/11/2013 9:34:00 AM

I'm an NC 30 in Mac and I have the Revlon Colorstay in 240 Medium Beige. I love this foundation. It's the first one I tried and I'm so glad I hit the jackpot with this. I saw a couple of make up gurus use this and decided to buy it since it was pretty cheap and easy to avail of since it's a drugstore product. I cannot believe how much I love this. It matches my skintone nicely and it's light, depending on how you apply it. It lasts crazily long. For the cons, which I don't really mind. It dries fast, so you better blend quickly and it's a job for brushes, not fingers. I prefer using a flat top brush compared to a stippling brush for this particular foundation. The second downfall is the smell, it actually reminds me of Bailey's Irish Creme. And the last, is its container-- I wish there was some sort of pump, rather than having to pour a bit of it out. But with all that, I still love this and hope they never discontinue this product.

Masks -Etude - Moistfull mask
rated 2 of 5

I got this as a freebie when I bought the Precious Minerals BB Cream. Although I believe it's around Php 98 for one sheet. I decided to use it to de-stress for the weekend. The paper was pretty thick and wet but it did not drip, which I liked. It was neat to put on and slightly big for my face, but that's better than it being too small. It felt nice and cool against my skin and I left it in for 30 minutes, while browsing the internet. It moisturized my face nicely, but I'm not quite impressed with the after effects. My face did feel dewy and soft, but overall it's not something that really improved my skin.

Cleansers -Trader Joe's - Tea Tree Oil soap
rated 4 of 5
littlellamadrama 4/28/2012 4:04:00 AM

I have been using this cleanser for about a week now and I absolutely love it. I have pretty acne prone skin, but this along with my skinsonic (clarisonic dupe) has kept my face pretty much clear. Except maybe for a tiny pimple on my nose, but that's because my skin was aggravated by my glasses. This is a pretty good feat, especially since my sleeping hours are rather erratic, so I expected to totally break out. But I'm so glad I haven't and I owe all my thanks to this product. It does, however, have its drawbacks. For one, the pump is very difficult to control. The first time I tried it, the product flew all over my sink. But you simply just have to get the hang of it. Another drawback is the smell. When I first tried it, I was so turned off by the smell. But I kept using it because of the reviews here in MUA. It doesn't really foam a lot. And it really stings around the eyes. It's not the most comfortable to use, but I've been really looking for a cleanser to really help with my acne prone skin. I've gone through Neutrogena, Pond's, Clean and Clear, Garnier, but I believe this is it. I'll keep trying it for a month, before I proclaim it as my HG cleanser. Update: I've been using it for 3 months now, and holy bejeezus--I no longer have to wear foundation so often. However, I have to keep to the regimen of using it with my skinsonic or else it's not as effective. I'm making my boyfriend try it out because he has a bad case of acne--and I'm starting to see a lot of improvement but I think I have to get him something to help him exfoliate.

Moisturizers -Nivea - Creme
rated 1 of 5
littlellamadrama 2/7/2012 7:33:00 AM

I was so ready to love this product. I loved the smell, the classy container, the cheapness, and the fact that it had such good reviews made me buy it. I even made sure to get the one from Germany. However, considering it came in a tub, I had to make sure that I wouldn't contaminate the product. The creme is horrible as a face moisturizer. It made me break out. I kept using it though thinking that maybe it was my monthly period that was making me break out, but no-- it's this product. It even put a pimple on my bottom lip-- I didn't even know that was possible! Then I started to try using it as a moisturizer for my calluses. It does okay and makes them less hard and softens my skin. I bought the really small one and I was hoping to find a HG with such a cheap price. But I am very disappointed in it. I don't even know what to do with the rest of the product I have left--- there's so much.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
rated 4 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/19/2012 1:59:00 PM

My mother bought this for me when she gave me her straightening iron, insisting that I must spray this on before I style my hair. I find that it keeps my hair from getting damaged from a straightening iron and I absolutely love it. However, I really dislike the smell. It smells disgusting to me and I just cover up the smell with perfume. But to keep my hair healthy and nice, I will definitely keep buying this product.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Moonlight Path EDT
rated 5 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/19/2012 1:55:00 PM

This was my high school fragrance. People would just suddenly come up and sniff me, telling me how nice I smelled. It would usually last the whole day and blended well with my body chemistry. It has a very powdery yet musky lavender scent which I absolutely adore. The packaging looks very classy and looks nice in my boudoir, but the tall cap is rather annoying at times. I would have continued on using this line but one of my friends started using the same thing and I did not want to have someone smelling just like me. So I moved on to another scent.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Healthy White Skin Lightening Lotion
rated 3 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/19/2012 1:44:00 PM

What I have is the Triple Lightening lotion. I use it at night just before I go to bed. It doesn't whiten your skin dramatically but I find it does make my skin a little fairer. It moisturizes my skin well enough but not something great either. It never feels greasy and is easily absorbed by my skin. I do like the scent although some may not like it; however, it does not linger. I would buy this product again but I would like to try other lotions just to compare results.

Toners -Nivea - Refreshing Toner
rated 3 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/19/2012 12:59:00 PM

I've been using this this product for a while now. It hasn't been doing wonders for my skin but it's been doing it's job. I use it at night after I cleanse, and I use it in the morning just to clear my skin. It may lessen the oiliness of my skin, which I consider good. And since I don't need a strong toner, because my skinsonic really cleans my face well, I find that it is a good enough mild cleanser. I also like the fragrance, it smells like powder. I bought it because it was cheap, but I probably won't repurchase it. I'd like something with a little more benefits.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Sirius Skinsonic Brush System
rated 4 of 5
littlellamadrama 1/19/2012 8:35:00 AM

This is my newest and most favorite addition to my skin care routine. This is supposedly the closest competitor of the Clarisonic Mia for a much cheaper price. Since I couldn't afford the former, I tried this out and I was really glad I did. The packaging is pretty simple. It includes the handle with the mechanism, and a stand; as well as a normal brush head, a sensitive brush head, an exfoliating sponge, a hydration sponge, and a massager. For around two weeks, I used the normal brush head until I felt that it was becoming a little too abrasive. I used it for two weeks to get slough off all the dead cells in my face. And now I just use the sensitive brush head to maintain the cleanliness of my face. My skin feels very clean after and I find that most products I use are more effective probably because my skin can absorb them better. Also, my acne scars (my worst problems these days) are lightening up. I do not regret this purchase and would recommend it to everyone.

Treatments -Garnier - Garnier Pure Active Spot-On Treatment
rated 4 of 5
littlellamadrama 10/24/2011 2:23:00 PM

I admit that this is pretty expensive for such a small tube, but it has lasted me so long that it is definitely worth it. I first bought this because the face mask from the same line was effective in drying out my pimples. But since I didn't want to keep using the face mask, I tried buying this. Lo and behold it would dry up my pimple so fast. I would usually put it on at night so when I woke up in the morning, it's dry and no longer as noticeable. After a few days, the pimple would be gone. And I absolutely love it. However, it's not really effective with blemishes and pimple scars that I've attained before using this product. And even on the pimple scars left by the pimples I've treated with this product are hard to get rid of. But I would absolutely buy this product again as my go to pimple drying solution.

Cleansers -Ponds - Ponds Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam with Activated Carbon
rated 2 of 5
littlellamadrama 10/24/2011 2:13:00 PM

Generally, Ponds facial products don't really deliver for me. They may clean my face but they don't clear up my acne nor do they whiten my skin. The Activated Carbon was so intriguing I had to try it, so to save money I bought the packs of sachet. I have to admit, the scent grows on you. It's a little unpleasant at first and it made my skin feel pretty clean. But it didn't clear away my blemishes like it promised it would.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Advantage 3 in 1 Foaming Acne Wash
rated 1 of 5
littlellamadrama 10/24/2011 2:00:00 PM

I tried this cleanser when its bottle was still yellow. But I do remember it made my skin really dry and moisturizer wouldn't really help. It didn't even take care of my acne and slightly exacerbated it. This was my first product from Clean & Clear, after trying this, I made sure to steer clear of their product lines.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Liquid Neutrogena Facial Cleansing Formula
rated 3 of 5
littlellamadrama 10/19/2011 3:16:00 PM

I bought this at Watson's in Megamall. It was one of the cheapest cleansers on the shelf, so I decided to go and give it a try. I've been using it for approximately three weeks now. The packaging is very basic and so is its description. It promises to clean your face with its mild hypoallergenic solution. It delivers pretty well. It does clean my face although not to the extent of not needing a toner. It prevents me from getting acne except for the routine pimple I get during my period. Despite saying that it's fragrance-free, it has a rather weird smell, although I became less conscious of it after using it for a while. Some people say that they find that this cleanser dries up their skin. I haven't really felt that particular ill effect, but that's probably because I live in a humid country. Overall, it's a very basic cleanser. It does what it says it will do. No more and no less.
