Cleansers -Garnier - Clean Detox Express Cleansing Wipes
lisztomania 1/16/2011 2:12:00 AM
Best drugstore cleansing wipes! I was so impressed when I used one wipe to take off my makeup. The wipe itself is so soft and moist and does not cause harsh rubbing. It does not sting or burn my face, unlike the Neutrogena wipes. The smell is pleasant and fruity. It takes off my makeup easily and effectively. I love the colorful packaging also I will definitely recommend and repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Napoleon Perdis - Camera Finish
lisztomania 12/18/2010 7:49:00 AM
This is my HG foundation powder and I have used it for over a year. For reference, I am NC 30 and I can use Look 1. It has several uses for me. I use it to set my foundation and I use this in summer on its own. What I love most about it and what keeps me purchasing it is the fact that it always looks natural and never cakey. It is so finely milled and goes on so smoothly. It has light coverage which is what I want in a powder - it doesn't hide your imperfections (such as acne) so you will have to wear concealer but it does even skintone nicely. I find that this lasts me about 6 months. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product :) I can't be without it.

Bronzers -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Bronzer #1
lisztomania 9/27/2010 1:03:00 AM
This is a good bronzer - if you have fair skin! I have a tan complexion and although this is nice, I have just used so much product each time just to make it show :( Pros: - no orange whatsoever - buildable colour - natural looking - can use to contour and yet subtle enough to wear all over face for tanned glow Cons: - total product waste when you have tan skin. I have to countlessly swirl my brush in the pan to make it show decently on my face - doesn't last all day on me - sometimes gets a bit patchy?? After a few hours Overall - it is a nice product, but I'm going to try NARS Laguna or Casino next time just for better pigmentation.

Liquid -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation
lisztomania 9/27/2010 12:46:00 AM
New HG! For reference, I am NC 30 and shade 754 is the exact colour match for me. First of all - this review will be for the new illuminating version of the face architect. The Shu girl put the original face architect on one side of my face, and the illuminating version on the other side. I was initially very hesitant about the illuminating one because it contains Macadamia oil - and for those with combo-oily skin, you know that we try to avoid oily foundations! I shared my concern with her and how I didn't want to look like an oil-slick. She said she has oily skin (and visibly large pores) and says she wears it all day and doesn't get super oily. From her opinion, the Macadamia oil mixes well with your natural oils to leave a dewy finish - unlike water-based foundations where the oil will separate.. So anyway, she was very convinced on the illuminating foundation - she told me that the original face architect has less coverage and also can get "patchy" later during the day. The original version also has a thicker formula, which makes it a bit harder to blend. After I tried both foundations, I found that I actually liked the illuminating one a lot more. She was right - it didn't make me look like an oil-slick at all. In fact, it leaves a dewy and healthy finish. I have worn this foundation for up to 10 hours and it lasts. You do have to blot a few times though. The finish was very natural and medium-coverage. I was looking for a foundation that looked natural enough to wear during the day, but one that I could build up to wear at night. It doesn't have an SPF - which is good if you want it for photos. The pump is really helpful (I only use 1 pump) but it can get a bit messy.. The price is decent - so much cheaper than NARS or Chanel which I've tried before, and actually better than both. NARS Sheer Glow kinda stuck to my dry patches (when I have them) and made my face look a bit flat and Chanel Vitalmiere was great at first but was waaaay too oily after a few hours. This foundation does not accentuate dry patches or get too oily - so I'm happy to have found that it works for me Hasn't caused me to break out - and in fact, when I wash my face at night, I feel my face being quite soft after. Maybe its the Macadamia oil that keeps my face nourished?? Overall - fantastic and underrated, would definitely recommend and purchase again. I have stopped using all other foundations and stuck to this one only :)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup
lisztomania 8/8/2010 9:05:00 PM
For reference, I am NC30 with combination skin. I use "Medium Beige" which is the exact shade. Pros: - Medium coverage - Lasts all day - Value for money - Didn't break me out - Packaging pretty sturdy - I dropped it on tile floor and it didn't even crack Cons: - Hard to find exact shade - it wasn't yellow-based enough for me - Photographs wierd - white cast sometimes, looks patchy or powdery other times - Can look really "made-up" and cakey if not extra careful - Because it is heavy, I avoid wearing it during the day - No pump sucks Overall - it is a decent drugstore foundation, but because it lacks in versatility, I wouldn't purchase again

Concealers -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 2
lisztomania 7/24/2010 3:25:00 AM
This is a lifesaver when it comes to my dark under-eye circles. It brightens the area and makes me look refreshed and awake. It is a subtle concealer, it does not completely cover the dark circles. But wherever applied (I apply it under eyes, under brows and down my nose), it just lifts the complexion of my face and prevents it from looking flat and tired. It is very expensive in Aus - but I found that it is so much cheaper in duty free shopes in Airports overseas so if you want to find the best buy, maybe refrain from buying them from department stores and save for duty free. The packaging is very practical but still luxurious. The pen shape and click function lets you have full control how you want to use the product and how much product to use. Overall - I will definitely purchase it again.

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
lisztomania 6/10/2010 2:05:00 AM
For reference, I am NC 30 with combination skin. Pros: - Light-weight formula makes it go on easy and blends quite naturally - Water-based is ideal for oily skin - Buildable coverage Cons: - I was matched with the wrong color-match: Santa Fe (too light) - Would accentuate my dry patches - Not exactly a "sheer glow" foundation - makes my face look a bit dull Overall - really expensive foundation that I'm not totally happy with.. maybe if the colour match suited me then I may purchase again... I think I can find better foundations out there

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex
lisztomania 6/4/2010 3:50:00 AM
This is the best skin care product I have purchased. It really makes a noticeable difference. I was desperately trying to find something to soothe my dry/combination skin (especially during winter) and at the same time, attend to my acne scars (mainly leftover spots). It did more than that. It made my skin glow - no kidding! Absolutely radiant and I am one of those people who noticed immediate effects - supple skin and a definite improvement in skin texture. It doesn't break me out at all and in fact keeps the pimples under control and less are occurring. Unlike most products, I didn't have to pay close attention to try to find results, the results were just so noticeable. I truely believe this product works and although it is pricey, I will continue to purchase it without a doubt. I'm so glad I found this!

Crème -Chanel - Vitalumiere Satin Smoothing Creme Makeup
lisztomania 5/30/2010 2:20:00 AM
I have very mixed feelings about this product. Let me list the pros and cons because I think that it's the easiest way for me to explain this: Pros: - looks natural and glowy on the skin - evens out skin tone perfectly - makes you look like you have healthy skin, instead of a mask of foundation on your face - very moisturising - great as a winter foundation - surprisingly looks really good at night when going out. Cons: - does not last all day long (especially without powder) - gets quite oily on nose and forhead and requires constant blotting (for those who have combination skin like me) -does not cover imperfections (such as bumps and pimples) - you generally need to have flawless skin to pull it off completely - can feel like it sits on top of the skin when you touch your face and can rub off on clothes easier than other foundations EDIT: I have been using this foundation on and off now for a few months and I really wish I didn't buy it. Don't get it if you have combination or oily skin. Although it looks gorgeous on first application, by the end of the day, my face looks and feels like an oil slick. I tend to have more breakouts too when I wear this foundation- I think its because my face gets so oily and I'm always trying to blot or wipe my face.. Overall - I won't buy this again. It is just totally unworkable with my skin type

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Conditioner
lisztomania 5/30/2010 2:07:00 AM
I absolutely adore this product! I have had chapped lips for as long as I can remember and this has been the only lip balm I have tried that has completely healed my lips. I previously used Burt's Bees and that honestly sucks compared to this. I don't know what people see in Burt's Bees because although it may provide instant relief of dryness, it doesn't last and my lips just go back to its chapped-like state within a few hours. However, this lip balm provides long-lasting relief to chapped lips. I started using this product a week ago, and since that first application, I have not had chapped lips at all!! And I'm serious - I am so amazed that my lips feel so soft and look so healthy with no flaky bits for me to peel at (especially since it's winter over here!!!). Even my bf noticed the difference :) It lost one lippie for me because I can't stand the way this thing tastes... it smells like vanilla, but the taste is not as pleasant.. the packaging can also be improved, but I'm not as fussed with that as others. Overall - great product, BEST product used for day time for lips - I use it all day, every day and a little goes a long way. I am so happy at the dramatic difference it has made for my lips!!!

Tinted Moisturizer -Natio - Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20
lisztomania 4/13/2010 11:19:00 PM
This is a reasonably good tinted moisturiser! It feels so light on the skin..it blends effortlessly and it gives a sheer-medium coverage. A little goes a long way- its a runny consistency so you only need a bit to cover the face. I bought it 20% off from Priceline in Aus..so I grabbed it for about $13.50 which is cheap because the quality matches up to the high-brands. It comes in 2 shades. I got the shade in Neutral (lighter colour).. I found that it is easier to work with than Beige (darker colour). After doing a swatch on my hand, I found that Neutral blended into the skin very well but Beige looked too brown- even on my tanned asian skin-tone. However, must say it didn't amaze me in any way but it is dependable. Overall - I would purchase again when on a budget and needing a reliable tinted moisturiser

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Pink Please ] ] [DISCONTINUED]
lisztomania 3/30/2010 10:11:00 PM
Finally a pale pink lippie that does not wash me out! I have looked everywhere, with no luck...not even at mac (i found their lippies to be a bit drying for me). This one is just what Ive been looking for. It is a perfect match for my skintone. Its a pale, but a non-offensive pink.. It definitely makes your lips pop. Great to wear with a smokey eye. I'd wear this at night and a more subtle pink lippie (Napoleon: Hess) during the day. Very moisturising. Love that it's matte So happy with it! Would definitely buy it again!!! EDIT: the smell seems to be more and more unbearable every time I use it... so it lost a lippie. But still - great value product

Moisturizers -Nivea - Oil Free Moisturizing Fluid
lisztomania 3/30/2010 10:06:00 PM
This is the most agreeable moisturiser I have ever tried. It sinks into the skin completely and does not leave the feeling like you you a layer on top of your face (as I feel is the case for a lot of moisturisers). It's really inexpensive, like $10AUD and definitely a bargain. My only complaint is the packaging: I really dislike the screw top because its tedious and sometimes I forget to put the lid back on when I'm in a rush. Apart from the packaging, a great moisturiser and definitely would buy again.

Lipstick -Napoleon Perdis - Devine Goddess Lipstick - HESS
lisztomania 3/30/2010 8:47:00 PM
Hess is the perfect shade to wear on a daily basis. My lips tend to look very pale so this lippie brings back some colour to my face. Usually, I like to keep my makeup very natural because I'm mostly either going to uni or work. This lippie is perfect because its subtle. I've received many compliments from wearing this - sometimes I like to add a coat of Mac's Love Nectar on top and that really makes the colour pop. It's not drying on my lips and it's long-lasting. I will definitely buy it again.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Lipstick- Tiger Eye
lisztomania 11/12/2009 4:01:00 AM
This lipstick is great if you want a nude/peach/gold colour. I've been in search for the perfect shade and now I am so pleased I purchased this. Its moisturising and does last a long time on me. I think it suits tan and olive skin the best because it just provides that bronzed glow. I add the Estee Lauder High Gloss in 05 Bronze on the top after the makeup artist suggested it. It really brings the colour the the next level and I don't think I'd use one without the other - so I would definitely also recommend trying out that gloss. Expensive - yes, but definitely worth it. I have no complaints.
