Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream

Alright I admit, I'm another big fan of this product. I bought it about a year ago at TJ Maxx pretty deeply discounted. At first I wasn't sure what to think of it. I still don't love the smell but it doesn't stop me from using it. I don't use this all over my face as a moisturizer but if I have dry spots (especially dry, cracked spots on my nose), on my lips, after getting my eyebrows waxed or threaded, on cuticles, and any other weird skin spots that pop up. My two favorite uses for this product are: 1. My kids are both rash-prone and get weird bumps and skin irritations. My son gets really dry skin around his mouth. I will put some of this on his upper lip before bedtime and by morning, it's much better. My daughter gets dry eczema-like patches on her upper arms. I dab a bit of this on before bedtime and by morning it's usually much better. 2. I have acne-prone skin. When I have a blemish or a bump of some kind I will use a treatment product (I like Paula's Choice Resist BHA 9), let that absorb into my skin, and then put a dab of the 8 hour cream on top of the treatment product. I find that usually by morning the spot is MUCH better. Especially spots that have a dry patch or any dry skin around it. This is probably how I use this product the most. We went on a trip in February and I forgot to bring my tube of this along. I ended up re-purchasing this product while we were gone. It's just one of those things that I reach for so often. I wasn't even fully aware of how often I use this. I can't imagine I will ever be without this again.

Concealers -Laura Geller - Real Deal Full Coverage Cream Concealer

I just can't get on board with this concealer. I especially can't use it in my undereye area. It is way too thick for that (on me). I have tried using it on blemishes and frankly it's just okay. For reference I use MAC Studio Finish on blemishes, discoloration and acne scars and that was what this was being compared to.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
linz152 12/2/2012 3:33:00 PM
I LOVE this eyeliner. For a long time I was an e/l junky. I own most of the popular DS and HE brands of e/l but I never found exactly what I was looking for. Until this little loveliness in a jar. I now wear this every single day. It doesn't smudge, move, migrate, etc. It dries matte. I love that I can completely change the look of the eye makeup I'm wearing just by going with a heavy or thin line of this eyeliner. I seriously can't imagine ever using anything else again.

Foundations -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full-Coverage Foundation SPF 15
linz152 12/2/2012 1:45:00 PM
I am another one who received this as a QVC TSV with a fluffy brush for application. At first, I didn't really like this product. Then I discovered I was using a bit too much. Once I backed off the amount I was using and blended this out well, I really liked it a lot. I wear this about 90% of the time. I do set my oilier areas with a little loose powder but this is a pretty matte foundation as is. I ordered it in the color Light and it's a very good match for me.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
linz152 11/25/2012 4:58:00 PM
I didn't want to like these as much as I do. I HATE the packaging. But I really love these lip balms. I own 3 of them and I use them all the time. I would say that 90% of the time, these are what's on my lips. I find that they are moisturizing and they just provide that natural "my lips but better" lip look that I want. They don't last all that long on me but they're very easy to reapply. These aren't fussy at all. This is just a simple, inexpensive everyday tinted lip balm that works.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
linz152 11/22/2012 9:02:00 PM
So far I am loving this mascara. Generally speaking I usually feel like mascaras need to be opened and closed for a few weeks before they get to a consistency that I actually like. But this one was great with the first use. I actually like the shape of the brush a lot. It did keep the mascara from getting clumpy. It also really like the formula. I'll update if I decide I don't like it down the road. But for the time being I'm really impressed with this mascara.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover
linz152 11/22/2012 8:58:00 PM
I am on my second bottle of this and I really like it. Previously I was using Albolene to remove makeup and then I would follow that with Cetaphil cleanser. I got tired of the two steps and also the mess of Albolene. So when I ran out of the Albolene I picked up this Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover. I really like it and feel like it does a great job of taking my makeup off each night. It does make my face feel a little on the tight/dry side but if I use a toner and then my moisturizer right after I take my makeup off, it's perfectly fine. Occasionally I also get a little bit of stinging with this but my skin is incredibly sensitive and that's usually if I've tried to stray from my normal routine and try other things. When I'm just doing my normal skincare routine, no stinging or problems of any kind. I only use this at night to remove makeup. I use Cetaphil in the mornings in the shower as a gentle cleanser. Overall I think this is a great product for makeup removal and I have recommended this to two friends who are also liking it a lot.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme
linz152 8/15/2012 11:54:00 PM
First, my skin-type: acne-prone, sensitive, combination skin. My derm recommended I check out this moisturizer after everything else I tried caused a reaction. I have been using this as my morning and night facial moisturizer for a couple of years now and I still love it. In the morning I mix a little sunscreen in with it and rub it in about 5 minutes before I put on makeup. I don't use a primer. I notice a big difference to the way my makeup applies when I do this. Everything is really smooth looking. I don't have any problem with it breaking down during the day either. I also mix a tiny amount of this with my under eye concealer. It is the best coverage I've ever had, doesn't settle into the lines under my eyes and keeps my undereyes looking extremely well moisturized. At night I remove my makeup usually pretty early in the evening. I put this on as my moisturizer after cleansing my face. Then, right before bed (a couple of hours later), I put a bit more around my nose and on any dry spots on my face. I also rub it into my cuticles, all over my hands, and my elbows. Occasionally I will stray away from this put I always come right back as soon as other moisturizers make my skin feel (and look) awful.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup
linz152 8/8/2012 11:25:00 PM
I really like this foundation a lot. I've never found a foundation that is my HG. It seems like I like something for a little while and then one day it randomly looks terrible on me. I have a drawer full of foundations, both HE and DS. But this one seems to be performing well. I bought it shortly after it came out and use it every day now. Like others have said, I'm not in love with the packaging. But it's fine. I have the best luck just using my fingers to apply this. I have tried it with a flat foundation brush, a Real Techniques buffing brush, a MAC stippling brush, a beauty blender and, of course, my fingers only. With each method of brush/sponge I still used my fingers to dot it on my face and then use the brush/sponge to blend it out. But one day I just decided to blend it out with my fingers and it looked the best. For now I'm giving it 5 lippies because I really like the way this looks on me. I'll update if that changes.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Real Colors - Hydra Eyes Waterproof Gel Eye Liners
linz152 8/8/2012 11:15:00 PM
Wow! I LOVE this eyeliner. I found this at Sally Beauty Supply accidentally. I had never heard of this brand or heard anything about these liners. But the are incredible. They glide on easily with no tugging or pulling. The color sets within seconds and stays intensely dark all day. The packaging says it's waterproof. I did use a q-tip dipped in eye makeup remover to get every last trace of this eye liner off. But I do that most of the time anyway just to be sure so it's not a big deal. I would much rather have this kind of staying power and color payoff than be upset about having to work a little harder to take it off at night. I bought it in beguiled black but I will be going back for at least the brown and navy. I think they are a steal at around $5 each ($4.99 for beauty club members at my store, $5.79 for non-beauty club members). I own quite a few high end liners and I keep reaching for this one over and over because I think it just performs better. I really can't say enough good things about this eye liner!

Shave Products -eos - Ultra Moisturizing Shave Cream in Vanilla Bliss
linz152 7/17/2011 4:58:00 PM
I like the packaging and the scent of this product. But I'm not a fan of the product itself for shaving. It's just not creamy enough. I feel like I have to use a LOT to make it work. I will use it up and I will not repurchase.

Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush - Pink Passion
linz152 7/6/2011 9:27:00 PM
This has become my very favorite blush EVER. A little background on me, I absolutely love blush. I am fair skinned and I am neutral to cool-toned. I look sick without some color on my face. Because I have purchased tons of blushes over the years (both high end and drugstore) I feel like it's really saying something for me to say this is my favorite. For a really natural glowy look I use a big fluffy powder brush and pick up a small amount of product. It blends well and makes me look naturally flushed.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Albolene cleanser
linz152 5/17/2011 9:40:00 AM
I use Albolene every night to take off my makeup. It does a great job for me. I rub this on my face and then wipe it off with a dry washcloth. I am prone to breakouts so I always follow this with a good cleanser. I also notice that the Albolene doesn't take off every trace of makeup so the cleanser gets the last little bit. Overall I like this and it does what it's supposed to for me. Edited 8/8/12: I upped this to 5 lippies as its the only thing that I have used that really takes away every trace of my makeup. I don't ever use anything else now and don't think that I will.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
linz152 4/30/2011 9:09:00 PM
This is a very heavy-duty coverage. I have lots of blemishes and acne scars to cover so I need something full coverage and this definitely is that. You just need a small amount. I use an ELF concealer brush to dab it on the spots that need covering. Then I blend out the edges really well. I took off one lippie because there are not enough color options and while I use the lightest (and it's the closest to correct for me), it's not exactly right. But I use this under foundation and so the slight color difference is not noticeable. I have been using this for months now. I sometimes try other ones (because I'm a makeup junkie of course) but I always go back to this one. :)

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Mineral Face Powder
linz152 4/23/2011 10:54:00 PM
This is my very favorite pressed powder. I love the coverage it provides and how well it sets. I use it to cover my nose (which gets shiny), my chin (breakouts) and any other spots I've used concealer. It really makes a huge difference when I use this product. Update: I am taking this from 5 lippies to 3. Unfortunately I have noticed that this product oxidizes on me pretty terribly. I thought it was foundation and switched foundations. When it kept happening, it finally occurred to me that it was the powder. Huge bummer because I loved the coverage of this.
