Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy for Her
linn116 8/16/2012 4:01:00 AM
This scent is an instant mood-lifter! Warm and sexy, but fresh and modern as well. I absolutely love it...I think it will always have a place in my collection. Also, I'm prone to headaches from perfumes and this one doesn't give me one, so that's a plus.

Cleansers -Noxzema - Original Skin Cream
linn116 8/16/2012 3:47:00 AM
Over the summer I rediscovered Noxzema. I saw results immediately: my skin was softer, hydrated, and had a more even tone. I felt it really hydrated and soothed my face after being out in scorching, 100 degree weather everyday (I live in TX). I now use it daily. I do think the way you use it is important- I massage it thoroughly into my face like a mini-facial, sometimes letting it sit for a bit, and remove it with a warm washcloth. Sometimes I do this twice- once to remove make-up and once to cleanse. I usually use a toner afterwards (apple cider vinegar or rosewater), and I think that's important with this particular product. When using this I suggest doing a deeper cleanse once or twice a week- I do a good deep cleanse with olive oil and exfoliate with something like apricot scrub. I'm really happy with this routine for now, and it must be working-I'm 29 and people sometimes mistake me for a teenager (weird), and have gotten compliments on my skin as well.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Oatmeal
linn116 3/5/2012 10:05:00 PM
I am on a budget right now, but keeping my skin healthy is important to me. I have an emergency arsenal of cheap, weird things I use when I am totally broke. Oatmeal is at the top of the list for sure. You can get a huge vat of it for next to nothing, and not only is it healthy to eat, it is also my favorite facial treatment. What I do is blend the oats in the blender (or coffee grinder) dry, until it's a fine powder. I pour this into a container with a lid, jar, or even ziplock bag. I store the oat powder in my bathroom so it's handy. All you have to do to make a facial mask or even a facewash is mix a few teaspoons with enough warm water to make a paste. Keep a spoon and cup handy and it's quite convenient. The more often I use this, the better my skin looks. It seems to even out the complexion really well. Sometimes I will also mix it with honey or plain yogurt. You can also use this for any rash to soothe the skin.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
linn116 3/5/2012 9:48:00 PM
You know what? This does it's job. I am dirt poor right now and needed a pressed powder to throw in my purse. Figured I'd give this one a try and have not been disappointed. I've noticed no difference between this one and my usually Maybelline pressed powder. The compact isn't great, but it works. I use the puff if I have to, but prefer to use a nice fluffy brush. I have super sensitive skin and have experienced no breakouts. I will probably start using this as my go-to powder when I'm on the go.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst in Coral
linn116 3/5/2012 9:43:00 PM
This is by the far the best red lipstick I've ever had. Though it's called Coral, in my opinion its just a true, true red, without that pinky undertone, which is what I've been looking for forever. I'm so glad I picked this one up. I think it is sufficiently moisturizing, and I adore the packaging.

Shampoo -Johnson & Johnson - Baby Shampoo
linn116 3/5/2012 9:34:00 PM
I confess I never knew how useful baby shampoo was, but boy, have my eyes been opened. A few weeks ago I had some eye inflammation and the doctor told me to wash around the eyes with baby shampoo. I ran to Dollar Tree and picked up the "Sesame Street" Brand Baby Shampoo, figuring it would suck, and knowing it would go to waste. Well. Having recently fallen upon hard times (read: dirt poor), I was using Ivory Soap to wash my sensitive skin and it was drying it out like nothing else. I looked around and saw the baby shampoo and decided to use it for my face. I was so surprised by how nice my skin looked and felt after washing with this. I've been using it ever since, and have had less hormonal acne. My face actually looks way better than it usually looks. It kind of glows. (I do moisturize immediately after use, of course.) My wrinkles and lines are alot less pronounced as well. I'm happy I stumbled upon this. I have also used it a clarifying shampoo, body wash, dog shampoo, to wash brushes, remove eye makeup, and wash delicates. Great stuffm will always have on hand.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - NutriBiotic Original Non-Soap Skin Cleanser
linn116 9/7/2011 5:40:00 PM
I thought this was working okay for my facial cleanser at first, but it dried out my skin quite badly after a few days of use. Additionally it made my hormonal acne worse. I think it might be the sodium lauryl sulfate but I'm not sure. Lets just say that within days of using it all my forehead wrinkles came out of hiding and I looked at least five years older. I'll use up the bottle to shave my legs with and won't repurchase!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme Rum Raisin [DISCONTINUED]
linn116 7/12/2010 10:51:00 PM
Cheap, moisturizing, and a really pretty shade. I have been impressed with this line of lipsticks in general and really like the rum raisin shade. It's a great lip color for day and I've been wearing it alot. Though it's now July, I can see this being a perfect winter color as well. My lips are dry and this lipstick is true to it's name- it really moisturizes. *** EDIT: More than a year later and this is still my favorite lipstick. This is basically the lipstick I count on.
