Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10

I just got my hands on this product from an online site that was offering it at a discounted price. It retails for SGD56 in department stores which is around the average price for a department store brand. Color: I got this in Intensity 2.5 (I've not been able to find this color on the website so I'm not sure if it is unique to Asia but they have it at the counters). It was a perfect match for me, not too yellow-undertoned but not too pink either, kinda in-between. The Intensity 2.0 was extremely yellow-undertoned whereas the Intensity 3.0 was rather pinky-undertoned. First impressions: Overall an excellent product. I'm not sure if it stays on for 15 hours as claimed (since I almost never wear makeup for that long) but for my purpose it stayed on well through about 8 hours of outdoor/indoor air-conditioning in a humid country like Singapore. After application it really felt like I had no makeup on, which is a huge plus since I hate that mask-ey feeling you get with some foundations. I did need to use a blotting sheet every 3 hours or so but I find it's the same with the Revlon Colorstay. Also, did not find any need to use powder with this. Coverage is sheer as described, it didn't really give me the 'perfect skin' look but it did help even out my skin colour, covers minor imperfections and kept it from looking greasy. I still needed to apply concealer on some of my darker blemishes. It photographs extremely well. I would use this as an everyday foundation for work when all you need is a little coverage to even things out. The only issue I had was that I had to blend really, and I mean, REALLY, fast in order to get an even application all over my face. I had a similar problem with the Revlon Colorstay foundation but this set even faster than the Revlon one! I used my fingers which is what most people have been recommending and still could not work fast enough to blend it in. While it didn't really leave any harsh lines, once it's set you can't touch it any more otherwise it gets streaky and becomes really obvious. I suppose it is this setting quality that gives it the ability to last so long. Packaging: Five stars for using a squeeze tube instead of the glass bottle the normal Double Wear uses (I broke my last Revlon Colorstay bottle so I'm rather wary of glass bottles now!). Fingerprints do get all over the gold shiny cap though. Will I repurchase? Probably not. For about half the price I can get the Revlon Colorstay which I would say works almost the same as the Double Wear Light.

Blush -The Body Shop - Lip & Cheek Stain - 01 Rose Pink

This is the best blush I've used thus far! I find the color very build-able; just use less when you need a hint of pink and build up when you want a stronger color for night! It's also great with or without foundation - I use it daily just over moisturizer and a mattifying base as well as over foundation for events and such. The colour comes out exactly like my natural blushing color and I have slightly tan yellow-undertoned skin. However, I only use this product for my cheeks. I did not like the texture on my lips and felt it was too drying - it dried out my lips and left them somewhat tacky. Also due to its liquid and watery consistency I find it runs out much faster than a powder blush of the same price would, which makes it rather pricey. That being said, it's a far cheaper substitute to Benefit's Benetint. Overall, it is a good buy and I've repurchased this twice already! :)

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Makeup

This sort of sets quickly after you apply meaning you have to blend it pretty quickly - I normally just use my fingers. Does what it says... after 6 hours it freshens up easily with a blotter but after 12 hours it looks really greasy. What I don't like is it doesn't wash off easily - tho I guess that is an attribute that leads to its staying power. Colour also is good for me - other brands are too light or pink for my yellow undertone skin.

Moisturizers -Kiehls - Blue Herbal Moisturizer

Mattifying and moisturizing, this made my skin produce less oil. Could definitely see a difference between this and other moisturizers that are made for oily skins - after a couple of hours my skin was markedly less shiny and easily touched up with a blotter. And I have REALLY oily skin. A little more expensive than your average drug store brands but considering the packaging is 100ml it'll last you close to a year - I've been using for 6 months now, twice a day and still have more than half left. Worth it!

Masks -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Face Mask
lingerz 6/12/2010 2:40:00 PM
Got this on offer from the Body Shop - wouldn't have bought it otherwise because of the price. Good thing about it tho is that it lasts for a long time since there's a decent amount in the pot. I didn't like that you had to dip your fingers in everytime tho, and if you have long nails the mask gets stuck under your nails. I normally do it in the shower since it's hard to wash off and tends to clump to the hair around my face. Kinda stings for the first minute or so after application which goes away. Nice antiseptic-tea tree oil which may be too strong for those who don't like the scent. My skin does seem clearer and more 'glowy' after the mask but only lasts about an hour before returning to its original condition. In terms of acne control I felt this didn't really help much. Good to 'clean' the skin out once a week tho!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Delft [DISCONTINUED]
lingerz 6/12/2010 2:33:00 PM
This is the second paint pot I've purchased from MAC. Great lasting power and one pot will last you a LONG LONG time. My only gripe with this one is it seemed more flaky than my other paint pot (Quite Natural) and so I had to be more careful when applying it (I use a Q-tip). It also didn't seem to blend as well as a result. But still one of the best cream shadows in the market that doesn't smear on my oily lids after sweat/long hours. Well worth the investment.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Quite Natural
lingerz 6/12/2010 2:27:00 PM
Love love love this product! I have really oily skin and single eyelid eyes which tend to "panda-fy" after a couple of hours especially with smokey eye make-up. This paint pot is a matte brown colour thats creamy and blends really well with a black liquid eyeliner to give a smokey look that can be toned down for day or intensified for night. Mistakes are hard to correct tho so try to get it right upon application. 5 lippies for staying power - even after a vigorous clubbing session this stayed on fabulously. Removes easily with baby oil or eye makeup remover. And the best thing, I've had this since forever and it's not even halfway. Real value for money. <3
