Eye Shadow -Everyday Minerals - Eyeshadows All
rated 2 of 5
lilywolf 4/4/2012 10:04:00 AM

Like a previous reviewer said, all of the EM eye shadows I ever saw are just to glittery. Too glittery to even see the color! But I have another, bigger problem with them. After I first tried a new pan of eyeshadow, Jasmine Tea I guess, in a few days I got very severe cystic acne on my EYELID. I did not make a connection then, but I didn't use any eye shadow either for a while. Two weeks ago I reached for another EM eye shadow, and I immediately developed cystic acne under my left eye. The story continues, I only had an EM corrector handy, so I put it on the spot and some other blemishes before going out, and every place I touched with it got inflamed like, well... like hell. I don't know what EM puts in their products, but apart from their fairly good powder makeup they will not touch my face. Ever.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Vicks- VapoRub
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 4/2/2012 8:56:00 AM

This is just a quick review, partly just a reminder to myself, I'll come back later. I am starting to experience mild-medium hormonal acne breakouts, and I was desperate to find a quick solution for some new pimples. I read some good reviews about Vick Vaporub, and though it sounded strange, I was just using it for common cold, so I tried it last night, and, long story short: it works. Yes. The three nasty medium sized pimples on my cheek dried down overnight to little, raised scabs. I will give them another night of treatment, and I guess they will be gone. VV is full with antibacterial goodies, eucalyptus, thyme. If you are not afraid of putting paraffin on your face, I absolutely recommend to try it on pimples. Other than this, it a miracle product for cold, it saved many nights of sleep. I always keep a jar handy.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 3/23/2012 10:07:00 AM

Oh, how I love, love, love this foundation... I had been using the Intensive formula, and I was very sad to see that EM decided to discontinue it. I ordered a semi matte, and I found it to be far superior to the Intense base. I literally can't rub this foundation from my face, I tested it. And wait, I will go now and test it again after an hour of putting it on my face... goes to the mirror, rubs her face... and yes, it is still perfect, and I can't rub it off. (Well, I could rub it of, if I would rub very hard, but I won't.) I am always in the need for a good foundation, my skin is very far from perfect, and THIS is it. The Good Foundation. The best. I will never be without this. I use it with EM's flat top kabuki, over Skin79's pink BB cream and Laura Mercier's Camouflage. Perfect. Fair is a perfect color match for my ridiculously fair skin. EM, please never discontinue this product. Oily and combination skinned girls, try this, you won't be disappointed. This is one of the products from all the things I have ever tried, that I can really wholeheartedly recommend. Try it. Cheap. Good. Lasts a long time. Good range of colors. Try it, try it. Oh, and I forgot to say, that I find it far more mattifying than even Mac's Prep and Prime or Kryolan's Anti-shine.

Styling Products -TiGi - Big & Bigger Foam
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 9/18/2011 7:08:00 PM

I so would like to find the words for how wonderful this product is. The way I use it is that just before I start to blowdry my hair, I massage two-three pumps of foam onto my roots. This way I can get the most amazing volume, which lasts. I bought a double pack some years ago, and I still have one bottle half full! It is dirt cheap, if you look it this way. Be sure to apply it on towel dry hair, and carefully comb out while blowdrying. As far as I remember this is a heat activated stuff, so it will start to volumize when you apply heat. I would never use it on dry hair!

Treatments (Eye) -L'Occitane - Ultra Rich Eye Balm
rated 4 of 5
lilywolf 9/18/2011 6:56:00 PM

I just gave a little thought about all the things that have ever worked for my dark undereye circles. There was plenty of sleep, ice cubes and this little eye cream. Maybe it is just me, but this basic eye balm was one of the few that did something "visible". Did not cure the circles, but it was definitely a bit better when I was using it, even my partner noticed it. Maybe I will give it another try. Other than this, this is a really nice balm, very moisturising, takes a while to sink in. Can even flake a bit when you hastily apply your makeup over it. I like it, especially in cold winter months. Oh, and correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know, shea butter has natural SPF. Or not? Sorry if I am not right about this.

Mascara -Dr. Hauschka - Mascara
rated 4 of 5
lilywolf 9/18/2011 6:42:00 PM

What a nice, basic mascara! No drama here, just jet black, glossy, natural looking lashes. It is very similar to Clinique's Naturally Glossy mascara, the difference is, that Hauschka is purely natural. I will buy it again and again, but I would be very happy if Hauschka did something with the crappy packaging. Whatever I do, the wand just keeps breaking in half after a few weeks of use. Very disturbing, because you either throw it away, or try to use it with a tissue or something. Ridiculous for the price. Oh, and it is NOT tearproof, no, no.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - Rose Velvet Hand Cream
rated 2 of 5
lilywolf 6/21/2011 8:57:00 AM

Generally I love L'Occitane, but this hand cream didn't do the trick for me. Smells very harsh, I hated it on my hands, because it just filled the room with some artificial rose scent. I can see it in the ingredients, that there is Rosa Damascena Flower Oil in it, but I don't think this strong scent is anything natural. Doesn't feel like it. I am very disappointed. As a hand cream it is not moisturising enough for me, but strangely it is very thick, took forever to sink in. I sum, I did not like this hand cream at all. The simple shea butter hand cream from L'Occitane is much better.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Iris Moisture Cream
rated 3 of 5
lilywolf 6/21/2011 8:51:00 AM

Not bad, not great. I bought this since I needed a simple, general moisturizer, as I don't really believe in using face creams, I prefer to use serums instead and just lightly moisturize. This did the job, nothing fancy. Not overly thick. Packaging fell apart after a few months.

Treatments (Eye) -Payot - Contour Yeux & Levres
rated 4 of 5
lilywolf 8/2/2010 12:41:00 PM

One of my favourite basic eye creams. Did not work for my hereditary undereye circles (Erno Laszlo Phelithone is the only one working for this) but a good basic eye balm, I found myself reaching for this often. I'm not a fan of the jar though.

Mascara -Shiseido - Perfect Mascara
rated 1 of 5
lilywolf 8/2/2010 12:34:00 PM

The first mascara I actually hate. It surely has lengthening properties, but the lashes are very unnatural looking, brittle, sticking to each other. I decided to use this tube I have here up, but today I finally threw it out . I took a closer look in the mirror and I realized that it made my lashes fall out. I used to have lush, dark, long lashes, but now all I have is some barely-there, half blond, tiny hairs.... I don't know what they put in this, but I hate this product so much that I have no words for it and do not recommend it at all.

Lip Treatments -Weleda - Everon lip balm
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 6/16/2010 6:54:00 PM

One of my two favourite lip balms. (The other one is Annemarie Börlind For Lips without the SPF, spf version unfortunately does not work for me). I rotate these two balms and they work great. Weleda is even better than Börlind. Nice smelling, your lips will not get used to it and is really hydrating. And this is me saying this, the girl with the chappiest lips in the world.

Hair -Aveda - Firmata hairspray
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 6/16/2010 6:43:00 PM

The best. All natural, very firm hold hairspray. Leaves a bit of a residue, use with a light hand, especially dark haired gals. The strong smell fades away in about an hour. Strongly recommended, will buy again.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Radiance Moisturizing Cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
lilywolf 6/12/2010 11:37:00 AM

Good, light, basic moisturiser. Would not buy again, b/c I need more serious treatment and deeper moisturising, but worked very well for my early twenties skin. I used this as an evening cream. There is an alternative olive oil product by L'Occitane with SPF for daytime use, see my other review. Con: The jar packaging is not the most hygienic, I would prefer a tube version.

Treatments -Erno Laszlo - Advanced Retexturizing Complex
rated 5 of 5
lilywolf 5/30/2010 5:44:00 PM

Did nothing for me, but worked amazingly well for my partner's oily skin. With every evening use it changed his problematic skin to normal. I'm impressed. Unfortunately it seems like it is hard to find, I hope it is not discountinued.

Cleansers -Dermalogica - Dermal Clay Facial Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
lilywolf 5/30/2010 5:30:00 PM

Squeaky cleanser with some great, natural ingredients like kaolin clay and various plant extracts. Cool, minty smell, also feels really cooling on the face. Can irritate damaged skin. I did not like to use it around my eyes.
