Liquid -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20

I absolutely love this stuff! My grandma bought it but didn't use it because she loves her L'oreal BB Cream stuff, but I'm sooooo glad she passed the bottle on to me. So first of all, I love how this feels on my skin (even when I'm applying it). It's the perfect amount of creamy that feels squishy and enjoyable when you apply it with your fingers... but it also feels extremely refreshing to apply with a foundation brush! (I use a regular, flat, paintbrush-kind of foundation brush). I shake it before I use it and blow the little bubble that forms before I pour the product out. It is extremely easy to get too much product as there is no pump (which there should be.... unless they would have to make the product thinner which would be a no-no for me), but that's okay because I love the finish and texture of this foundation. It gives the prettiest, satin-dewy finish that I have ever seen in a drugstore foundation. The thing is.... the bottle I have isn't even my right color! I use another concealer on top of it, but I will surely purchase a new bottle in my exact shade. I set this foundation w/ Maybelline's Dream Matte Powder and I'm oil-free for a pretty decent time period. I have combination skin, so I have to appeal to the needs of my dry nose and oily T-zone (fun). This manages to even out both the color and texture of my skin and I'm so glad I know that this product exists. HEALTHY SKIN FOR THE WIN<3
This looks very natural on the skin, but I was hoping for a little more dewiness. The coverage was pretty decent, and it felt light and cooling while being applied. Bobbi Brown's colors are quite yellow, keep that in mind. Nice to know that it has SPF and it is light and wearable. Can be sheered out nicely with moisturizer. Biggest frustration.... it emphasizes my dry spots like crazy!!! talk about a crusty, dry nose. yuck
The finish of this is beautiful, shiny, glistening.... but it is NOT bronze. Most others have already noticed this, but this should have been called Tough as Taupe or Tremendously TAUPE or something haha. Let's begin by saying that taupe doesn't exactly look very nice with my skin coloring, me being slightly more warm than cool. But the staying power is GREAT. and it does NOT CREASE, even without primer!!!!!!!!!!! (I experimented with this for a WEEK). And I have oily lids! I wish they would release an actual bronze color, but this is nice too!
Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Deep Action Cream Cleanser
lilyofthevalley47 6/16/2012 6:03:00 PM
My go-to cleanser. If I ever have to live off of one cleanser, this would be it. This is probably my HG. My version of Cetaphil haha. I am not a fan of the smell, which I can't even begin to describe. It smells gelatinous. Is that weird? I don't know. But it goes with my skin very well. Does not cause my skin to breakout, and constantly fights my upcoming breakouts. Whenever I experiment with something else, I breakout :[ but this cleanser calls to me and in a few days, I'm good! Cools when first put on, but does not feel good with a sunburn haha. Will continue to repurchase until I find something better
If you need a full coverage powder, go for this one. Oh, and keep in mind - it does NOT keep the oilies at bay. I get quite oily on my t-zone, and this only lasted for, maybe, 3 hours at most? The coverage is quite amazing though. It also feels very smooth putting on. But the staying power was disappointing
This mascara is great for length and for building up. The handle for the wand is veryyy awkward though. It feels very cube-like in your fingers, and you have to twist it awkwardly to use the product on all sides of the wand, but the product inside is more than decent. The packaging is ADORABLE
Mascara -Urban Decay - Big Fatty Mascara - Waterproof
lilyofthevalley47 6/16/2012 5:56:00 PM
This was a big, "fatty" fail haha. The packaging is psychedelic and cool, no doubt, but the mascara itself is not. The wand is way too big and long and it prevents control of the mascara. the product is very thin and gives you extremely natural lashes. It's a shaaame :p Waterproof wise, it's great
Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle
lilyofthevalley47 6/16/2012 5:54:00 PM
Pink Truffle is a good MLBB product. Its browny-pink undertones suited my natural lips well. But although it feels great and smooth like a lip balm when first applying, it felt very drying and that disappointed me. I'm not one for slippery-smooth lip colors, but this product made me feel like I had been sucking in air in Chicago or something. I would have appreciated a little less sparkle too... a nice, creamy sheen would have made this product more like-able.
These are so pretty and they smell AMAZING! The colors are beautiful.......... sometimes I can't stop staring at my lips in the mirror once I've put them on. They are quite sticky and the glittery ones feel very grainy at times, but the colors are beautiful. I got like 9 of these or something from a holiday pack that my friend got me and they're cute. The twist up packaging only takes one time to get used to, and it's fun brushing on the product. But if you plan to put this over lipstick, be sure to get the product on your finger first, then dab it on. Applying this directly onto your lipsticked-lip would transfer lipstick onto the brush.... But yeah! The scents that come with each glaze are unique (some are vanilla-scented, cake-scented, fruity, etc...), and the overall effect is pretty!
Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
lilyofthevalley47 6/16/2012 5:46:00 PM
I've jumped onto the Dream Matte bandwagon! And I'm glad I did! I got the wrong color boohooooo it's too pink/light for me, but it blends in very well! The coverage is sheer, so the color difference is not obvious at all (but if you're looking for a full coverage powder - this is not the one). Keeps my T-zone (which is all I need it for, really) matte better than any has ever. Maybelline Dream Matte powder > Mac Studio Fix powder fdtn. I love the smooth finish this gives my skin. Yayy!
this is an OK concealer. Lints get into the concealer very easily, and you have to scrape them out with a (clean) fingernail or a spatula. Coverage is not great, but decent. Fades throughout the day. I think, however, that this is the first concealer that I've hit pan on in a while, so I guess it is reliable lolol. I use the yellow powder more than the concealer though! The yellow powder applied under the browbone is a great matte highlight and I use it to set my undereye concealer and it does an okay job at that. Blends into the skin all right
This beats Maybelline's Full N Soft by FAR. My lashes seem to work better with the more classic brush wands like the one this has. The wand seems shorter than most, which I think helps with my application of this. The mascara can be a little clumpy at first, but you just have to keep running over and separating. Very waterproof, classy packaging - I would def buy this if I ever needed a reliable thing for my lashes on-the-go or something. The formula is dry (which I like), but just something to keep in mind. Good mascara. Not so great for the bottom lashes as it is clumpy
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Perversion
lilyofthevalley47 6/16/2012 5:36:00 PM
My mom gave this to me after realizing that she didn't REALLY love the intense black of this pencil. It is SERIOUSLY black, with a dark, almost blue undertone. But I love it! It's softer than many of the other 24/7 pencils in that it is very much like a kohl. I love using an angled eyeliner brush with this in an almost gel-liner sense to wing out my eyeliner. It looks like gel eyeliner! And it stays very well, surprisingly (Zero did not stay well on my lashlines). I use this for tightlining and it stays all day with minimal fading and stays on my lower waterline too. I love this!
I got this for my birthday, and it's great! I didn't really expect any less from Urban Decay because I own a lot of things from them already (de-slick spray, eyeshadow, LOTS of 24/7 liners, sharpener, a mascara, etc...) The shadows are all great and very nicely pigmented and I don't find glitter a problem with this palette (unlike the Ammo palette). I do find that the eyeshadows "crumble" a little bit when I use them. Like, if I use one rectangle, I'll have to blow away any eyeshadow that's left over. But each color is great and beautiful - perfect amount of sheen for the shimmery shades and the mattes are OK too. I use smog, sin, creep, and buck almost every day! Love the versatility! <3
Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
lilyofthevalley47 5/28/2012 11:37:00 PM
Overhyped. I have straight Asian lashes that will stay if curled and used with the right mascara (waterproof, usually) but this mascara brought my lashes down. Not to a complete non-curl but a flattened curl. Did barely anything for length and volume was so-so. I thought I was into natural lashes until this lol I have come to realize that the bigger the lashes the better. Would definitely not repurchase. Good thing its time is up!
