This is one of those simple products that is inexpensive, no fancy packaging and just works. This lotion is unscented which I like. Perfumed lotions tend to contain more alcohol and dry your skin out. This is my favorite hand lotion right out of the shower, or during the day. I keep one in my desk drawer, my nightstand, my car, etc. It goes on smooth, absorbs quickly and your hands and skin feel supple and soft after using. The price for this is so low I cant even remember, and its a simple drug store brand but worth it. Compared to expensive creams this product really does work great.

Palettes -Smashbox - Backstage Cream Eye Liner

I was really upset about this product. I love Smashbox, and I really loved the fact that something the size of a credit card would hold 10 different metallic gel liners. I thought it would be perfect to fit in a small wristlet for a night out, and only have to carry something the size of my drivers license and hold ten liners instead of 10 pencils! I love the package, i love the little mirror, and it even comes with a little brush. I tried applying it first with the little brush and it was too short, especially with nails on. I used my regular length eyeliner brush and still I had to press really hard to get the product to stay on the brush, and even harder to get it on my eyes. The result was a flaky mess! I tried warming the product slightly under a lightbulb and still I could not get the product to stay on my lids! I thought even if I do get it on my lids is it even gonna stay? I honestly bought this as an add on when purchasing from Sephora to add an extra $10 to my purchase to get free shipping. I was excited that for only $10 i could get a mini smashbox product but I have to say im highly dissapointed. Thankfully it wasnt expensive.

Powders -Smashbox - Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder

The packaging for this product is awesome, I love the twist feature that cuts just the right amount of powder for use. Not on the fault of Smashbox, but I probably chose too dark of a color for my skin tone, even with the help of a makeup advisor. I dont really see it living up to its claims of improving skin texture, and I really wasnt thrilled with the way it applied unevenly making my complexion appear blotchy. Perhaps if this wasnt so expensive and I would be sure i would get a perfect match to my skin tone I would try this again, but at almost $50 it is way too risky to try again.

Highlighters -Smashbox - Artificial Light Luminizing Lotion

This product really does perform the miracles it claims. I cant stress this enough when applying it though- LESS IS MORE! Dont even think pea size amount when applying it, literally smear your finger tip across the leftover residue from tapping the pump lightly and its more then enough. This is the type of product you build gradually, apply, let set, look in mirror and add more if needed. It really does take some practice so dont use it the first time before a night out and make sure you check your results in all different lights, but once you get the hang of it this stuff is amazing. Definitely check out Smashbox's Youtube video explaining how to use it. I like to apply a small dab under my eyes, above my cheekbones to really make them pop. And a small dab half way down the bridge of my nose, it really brings my face forward. For a small bottle and the minimal amount necessary for use I would say this bottle would probably expire before I use it all. If it came in a jar, rather then a glass pump bottle im sure I could get every last bit out of the packaging, thats why I gave the packaging a 4 instead of a 5. You could also try mixing a small amount in liquid foundation for a highlighting effect.

Lips -Ulta - Sheer Blush

I tried Ulta Sheer Pout in a sample kit and absolutely fell in love with the color so I bought the full size lipstick. The color does last for a few hours, however the top of the lipstick doesnt stay in place and falls off and made a giant mess in my bag! I was able to salvage it and I just apply it now with a lipbrush. I was a little hesitant to buy it again, and the following year Ulta changed the packaging and added a clear top so you can first of all make sure your lipstick is retracted so you dont mush it, and the new top seems to stay on tight now. For $10 I would say it is midrange in price, especially for a store brand like Ulta, but I was kind of upset when it was ruined within two days of the top falling off in my bag. Im sure it has happened to all of us, even with expensive brands but this wasnt from carelessness, it was from poor packaging. With the improved packaging i would buy it again now.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

I could never get the hang of liquid liner when it first came out, and I finally gave up. When I saw the gel eyeliner I thought it would be the same thing. On impulse I bought it because it looked much easier to use. First of all, even if you are a teen just strarting out and learning makeup, this product makes your eyes come out professional everytime! The first time I used it I thought it was too good to be true because it glides on so perfectly, in place giving me a perfect cat eye effect! It doesn't make a mess and the brush is perfect and easy to control with small hands, and you can twist the brush slightly to achieve the shape you want! Unlike a pencil, you can get perfectly right to the lash line with this product! Nothing else gets a perfect line right to your lash line like this ever! Best of all this jar may seem tiny, but a little goes a very, very long way! and OOOPS just last week I was in a rush getting ready to go out for the night and left the top off the glass lid overnight after doing my makeup and didnt realize until the next day. I thought for sure the product was ruined and dried out but amazingly it was fine. I just wouldnt make a habit of it. Im sure one single drop literally of water would probably refresh it. I expect to get at least a year out of this jar. The staying power of this liner is awesome also! I can put it on in the morning and by 5pm its still intact with an occasional touch up. The only draw back is the portability, the little jar is carried seperate from the brush so it would be kind of hard to carry in a small evening clutch or wristlet. However, I have touched up on top of it with a Kohl pencil and its fine. For a drug store brand I would say this stuff is one step above amazing! This is a must have in my makeup essentials!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

I heard so much about this product and wanted to try it but was afraid it was all hype. I read so many reviews which were all positive so I thought I would give it a try. I found a set which had the blush and bronzer compact, complete with an Orgasm Lip Blush and it was only $30 so I thought perfect! I have to say this really is the most amazing blush I have ever used! At first the pink went on too bright and I thought no way! But after a few seconds it evened out to a subtle natural glow, which reminded me of course to a "Post orgasm flush" lol. I also noticed that as i turned my head the light shimmery effect gave a light bending feature which really made my cheekbones appear higher! I Love this stuff! The bronzer that came with it also was a very subtle color that is fine as bronzer, and also sheer enough to use as an eyeshadow, and actually as a powder! And the matching lipgloss is perfect! I like the idea of the small compact with the bronzer in it since I my blush is the one thing I am constantly touching up so it fits nicely into a small bag or clutch for a night out. I plan on purchasing the full size lipgloss, and this will definitely be my new signature blush!

Self Tanners -Nivea - Sun-Kissed Beautiful Legs (shave minimizing)

I am definitely one of those girls that stays out of the sun and avoids tanning salons, however I pay for it with compliments of how much younger I look. However, my legs were always so pale in the summer, and it would be annoying having to wear nylons with a dress in the fall and winter. I tried this and after two applications I was hooked! It gives me just enough of a sun kissed look, and it looks completely natural! Unlike other self tanners ive tried that were actually more expensive, this goes on smooth, absorbs quickly, and Most of all spreads out evenly so I have NO streaks! (definitely avoid your knees with this because they will look orange). My most favorite part about this product is the shave minimizing lotion. I totally forgot that it contained a shave minimizer and after using it for a week I noticed I didnt even have to shave my legs once! I can actually go for a week and a half without shaving when I use this so I just make it part of my daily routine. It also doesn't irritate my skin. Sometimes if I put on lotion right after shaving my legs and I break out, I can put this on right out of the bath minutes after shaving my legs and it absorbs with no irritation and actually soothes! The only drawback is since I use it every day and it costs about $10 per bottle i use a tube every week and a half, so to get the most for my money when I cant squeeze anymore i cut the tube in half and get another days worth out of the tube with my fingers. I wish it were in an open top type container. Although it doesn't smell horrible at all like other tanners, it is powerful enough I would recommend doing it the night before, or letting it dry for a few hours and then showering before you go out again. Also, make sure you wash your hands after applying or any other skin it gets on where you dont want it. You have to let this dry before putting on clothing so right out of the shower is a good idea. I did use this once and decided to put on my panties while waiting for it to dry and ruined my pink underwear with smears of this stuff, so patience for a few minutes while drying is a must.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Kiss Gloss in Cool Mint

I am not a fan of this brand normally. They are one of the lower end drugstore brands, cheaply priced and good for making a travel kit or in an emergency. However, Mixed in with all my MAC and NARS, there is one NYC product I can not live without. NYC Colors KIss Gloss in Cool Mint. Its actually a clear gloss. For around $2 this is a must have! It goes on clear over your lip color or even your regular gloss. I use it like a sealant! Your lips look like glass, but not fake and it actually locks in your color and does not get sticky and rub off. Let it sit for a minute and the shine stays unlike other lip glosses that transfer off. I noticed that my color stays intact with this product and I find that my color wont come off onto cigarettes, wine glasses, etc. This really seals in my color and is a must have! When I do see it in the store I always stock up 4 at a time because its so cheap and if its ever discontinued.

Polishes -Rimmel - French Manicure with Lycra and Minerals in #442 French Rose

I have bought Rimmel Nail Polish before and I swore I would never again because I thought the non traditional flat head brush was awkward. I saw French Rose in the store and couldn't resist the color and thought I would give it one more try. Rimmel should really advertise the advantage to the flat head brush and how to use it. By accident I pressed a little harder than normal and realized the flat head brush actually hugged my nail perfectly and evenly, distributing color on both sides without any run off! I fell in love instantly! With a little practice this brush is so much better than a traditional! I might actually soak my old Rimmel flat brushes in remover and use them for other brands. French Rose is such a pretty sheer color for a classic French Manicure! It looks natural, not too pinkish which i hate! As you layer this shade the color evens out properly. Base coat, white tip, go over again with color and seal with top coat and you have a perfect French manicure! This is my new favorite polish and I would definitely stick with Rimmel as my preferred polish now!

Fragrances -Juicy Couture - Viva La Juicy

As a girl who loves to own everything from Juicy I was not impressed when they first started making fragrance, and I thought their first scent smelled very "Old lady". When I first smelled Viva La Juicy I didn't like it at first. One day flipping through a magazine I smelled it again on a sample insert and rubbed it on my skin and within a few minutes I thought OMG! This is delish! I bought the small rollerball and wore it out one night and I swear my boyfriend went crazy over it! I got so many compliments on it, including the couple sitting behind us at the movie theater! I bought the big bottle, and the smaller bottle for my purse and this is my new signature scent! I would swear it has pheromones in it because every time I wear it guys are constantly complimenting me on it! I absolutely love this scent! And I would definitely buy it again!
