Blush -Aromaleigh - Glazed Blush [DISCONTINUED]

I like this blush, it provides a very natural -looking flush for my light-medium olive skin. It's similar to Epitome, but pinker. Very pretty and long-lasting, easy to blend as well. I will definitely repurchase both.

I am very satisfied with this blush. It is as described by the website, a gorgeous peachy shade, perfect for medium skintones. The quality of this blush is especially excellent, very blendable and it lasts all day. I only bought a sample and have been using it for 2 weeks already, and there is still more than half left.

Blush -Aromaleigh - Peach Pure Blush [DISCONTINUED]

This is supposed to be a very sheer blush, so I can't complain about how unpigmented it is. However, the color of this blush is very light, and very...beigy rather than peachy. If you don't have super pale skin, don't even bother sampling.

Cleansers -LUSH - Angels on Bare Skin
rated 5 of 5

I've never really been a fan of lavender, but this cleanser really wouldn't be the same without the soothing scent. I really look forward to cleansing with this every morning. That aside, it also has an excellent texture for exfoliating, without being too harsh. My skin has never felt so soft! I even love the little tiny buds of lavender, which look like little bugs and really irks out my roommate. I may consider purchasing a pretty empty jar to store this cleanser in though; the packaging it comes with serves its purpose, but is just not aesthetically pleasing. Yes, I will repurchase.

Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Tipsy
rated 3 of 5

The only way that I can get this blush to work for me is by layering a powder blush over it, which kind of defeats the purpose of a swipe-and-go stick blush. However, I must note that those with dry skin or who otherwise would appreciate the stickiness left by the blush would find this blush superb for its blendability, ease of application, and pretty color and glow. I, myself, could not tolerate the stickiness, which still did not subside after half and hour. Layering my usual powder over it diluted its coloring and kind of just made it look muddy. I'll keep it anyhow; perhaps it will fare better in the winter, when the weather is drier. For reference, I have combination, normal skin and live in SoCal.

Blush -Sonia Kashuk - Cheek Sheers Sunkissed 02

Such a pretty color, and the packaging is so simple and cute. I love that it is so portable. Also, very easy to blend and really loos like a glow from within. Alas, it disappeared from my cheeks about an hour after application. Like a reviewer below, I just don't have desire to reapply blush with my fingers 8 times a day. Also, considering the rate I will need to reapply, this is not a good value. Such a shame, I loved this product so much for one hour.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Sonia Kashuk Limited Edition Brush Set with Case

I love this set of brushes so much that I'm thinking of buying another one, but have no good reason to. The only brushes I don't use is the brow/lash comb, which is junk, and the lipbrush, because I use sheer lipsticks that don't need precision application. I've washed the blush brush about ten times now, with no shedding or splaying in sight. A fabulous product for the price!

Lip Treatments -Perfumeria Gal - Red Currant Lip Balm

I was very pleased that my boyfriend's sister brought back for me from Spain, though I suspect she may have overpaid for it. This is an excellent lip balm! Of course it's similar to just vaseline, but who would want to lug that around? This is just so very light and non-goopy, pleasantly scented, and the pretty tin makes it perfect for my purse. It costs only about $5, so I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase. $5 is not alot to pay for a generous amount of good-smelling vaseline in a pretty tin that wears so well under lipstick.

Lipstick -L'Oreal - Endless Platinum - Crystallized Coral
rated 3 of 5
likestofu 6/7/2005 9:16:00 PM

What a shame that such a gorgeous color has to be formulated with such an obnoxious amount of glitter. I normally don't mind glitter in lipgloss, but because this is a long-wearing, dry lipstick, the glitter tends to migrate when the lipstick dries out (and it does, despite its claims.) At the end of the day there is always glitter all over the bottom half of my face, regardless of whether I did any kissing that day. For this reason, I will not repurchase, but will continue using this lipstick until I find a replacement for this gorgeous color.

Blush -Physicians Formula - Baked Blush - Baked Ginger
rated 4 of 5
likestofu 5/19/2005 7:31:00 PM

By description, it would appear that the reviewer below and I have very similar skintones. I also have yellowish (perhaps more olive) undertones and tan more brown than bronze in the summer. I also love peachy blushes on me, but with summer approaching, and with my skin rapidly turning brown (no matter how I try to avoid the sun!), I decided to try this blush. I've been pleased with my only PF purchase, the pearls of perfection powder in translucent, and wanted a similarly glowing (but not shimmery blush.) This fits the bill. The shimmer is very small, and makes me feel like I have movie star cheeks (like Beyonce!). The color did not appear orange on me at all, rather, it was a pretty coral shade with a little more brown than I expected, but looks very pretty. To comment on the packaging: the mirror and brush are useless, and adds to the bulkiness of this. I'm not sure how to go about applying this wet, because when I dipped a damp sponge on this, it solidified a little (am I a makeup spaz?). If anyone has any pointers, please say so, because I would really like more staying power from this! Used dry, it lasts maybe 4-5 hours on me, though, it is summer in California.

Blush -Maybelline - Expert Wear Blush 'Precious Pink'
rated 2 of 5

This barely passes for an acceptable blush because it had no staying power and very little pigmentation. The dealbreaker was when it cracked after about 2 months. What a shame.

Pressed Powders -E.L.F. - Clarifying Pressed Powder
rated 5 of 5
likestofu 5/14/2005 11:26:00 PM

This gets a 5, but only because it costed $1. I found it to be very sheer and the texture very fine. It blots shine very well, without caking, and comes in a tiny compact, perfect for stashing EVERYWHERE. I keep one in my car to blot midday shine, but it wouldn't suffice as the only powder I use, because of the sheerness. I also keep one in my clutch for evenings out, and one in my desk at work, one in my boyfriend's car...you get the picture. And yes, the packaging is horrid, but for $1 it's reasonable.

Styling Products -John Frieda - Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Leave-on Perfecting Glosser

Hm. I can't say it did anything amazing for my hair, though it does seem to take less time to blowdry my hair after I apply this. Also, the intoxicating scent itself is worth the purchase. I always put some on before I head out.

Treatments -Pantene - Deep Fortifying Treatment
rated 4 of 5
likestofu 5/5/2005 4:36:00 AM

This really makes my hair feel healthier and bouncier after a traumatic event (like highlighting.) I left my hair natural over winter and this became too heavy for it, but it stays in my cabinet in case I want to get highlights. It's definitely not suitable if your hair is already healthy, but it's worth a try if your hair has been chemically treated, especially since it's about $4 at Target.

An exceptional brush for the price. Great as an eyeliner brush. I like to use it with my Fluidlines, and it never loses shape even with daily washing. What a find!
