Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Nourishing Nutri-Brown
lgoddard2 12/23/2008 12:23:00 PM
First, here is a history of my haircolor lately to give you a good idea of what I've done...I went from really heavy blonde highlights a few months ago to really dark brown out of a box (Loreal Preference). That was the first time I'd done my own hair ever. I have since colored it once more with Loreal Pref. My color has gotten really dull, so I decided today to go to Target and get some of my regular color and dye it. While there, I saw this lightening product. I got it and used it. I got 2 boxes because I have very long very thick hair. I followed the directions exactly: 20 min on the ends, 10 min on my roots, 30 total. When I first got out of the shower, my roots were very orangey/goldish. I was a little worried but I went ahead and dried it. I am very pleased with the results. While it is not a lot lighter, the overall tone is different. I used Iced Macchiato, and my hair is a nice dark color with a warm tone. A big plus is that the conditioner that comes with it is awesome. My hair feels so healthy and soft. I would definitely re-purchase!!

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Preference Shine Extending Hair Color
lgoddard2 10/23/2008 10:01:00 AM
I was VERY scared and VERY skeptical of doing my own dye job...I have always paid a ridiculous amount of money to have my hair colored in a salon. However, I decided an $8 investment wouldn't be bad even if I hated it; I would still be able to get it fixed. Anyway, my hair was a light brown with previous blonde highlights coming through. I wanted to even out the color all over. I purchased Medium Maple Brown. Just like everyone says, it came out a LOT darker than the box said it would. However it was just what I wanted. My color looks professionally done. I am so happy with my results and will never pay someone $100 to dye my hair again. My best advice is to find a shade that's about 2 shades lighter than your desired color. Also, if you have really thick hair like me, buy 2 boxes just to make sure you cover everything. If I can do it, anyone can. Good luck!

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Bubbly 3 in 1
lgoddard2 3/4/2008 8:33:00 AM
I LOVE this product! I saw it a few weeks ago in the Bridal Party gift set, but I didn't want to pay $30 for that just to get one tiny bottle of Bubbly. So, I was so excited yesterday to find this in the 24 oz size at Sephora. It has a really good smell. Citrus, and fizzy smelling. Kind of like Sprite. I've used it twice and I love it. The scent lingers, but in a good way. It's very fresh, not overpowering at all. One thing about it that I have never noticed with other shower gels is that it leaves my skin very soft and smooth. That surprises me because it is not creamy at all, just a gel. But my skin feels soooo smooth! I will definitely be repurchasing this. If you can't find it with all the other Philosophy 3-in-1 products at Sephora, look in the Philosophy gift section. Mine was packaged in a little box that says "Congratulations" on it. Really cute as a congratulatory gift too (a bottle of bubbly).

Styling Products -Oscar Blandi - Seta Silk Polishing Cream
lgoddard2 2/24/2008 10:55:00 PM
I received a sample of this and just tried it today for the first time. This stuff is truly a dream cream! I have very long, very thick, AND very dry hair. This stuff is so wonderful. I put about a nickel sized amount in my damp hair. It dried soooo pretty! Very glossy and moisturized, not weighed down. I put a teeny tiny amount in after I straightened just to polish it. This is my new favorite hair product. I hear it's around $19 per tube, which I don't think is too bad at all. I would have no problem paying that for this product. Try to get a sample at Sephora. You will love it!

Treatments -Murad - Acne Spot Treatment
lgoddard2 2/19/2008 8:36:00 PM
I just got this product and have used it a few times. I generally have very clear skin and just get a few bumps every now and then. This product is not a miracle product like the reviews below. I guess it is working...it's not working well enough for me to tell a huge difference. I guess I will see how it does....probably won't be repurchasing it though.

Cleansers -Olay - Definity Illuminating Cream Cleanser
lgoddard2 2/19/2008 8:29:00 PM
I love this cleanser. It is great for a drugstore brand! You can lather it up if you want, or just leave it as more of a thick cream; it depends on how much water you add as you use it. The little beads in it feel nice and do a great job of cleaning. I also LOVE the smell! That's one of my favorite things about it. I got it on sale for a great price. I would definitley repurchase if it was on sale again!

Cleansers -Olay - Pore Refining Mousse Cleanser
lgoddard2 2/19/2008 8:23:00 PM
This is a great every-day cleanser. I love the fact that it is a mousse...no working up a lather. The microcrystals are nice, too. I always want to exfoliate every day, even though I know it's not great for my skin to do it that often. However, the crystals are very very mild, yet effective. So cheap! I would repurchase this again...if it was on sale! That's the reason I got it in the first place.

Makeup Brushes -Too Faced - Retractable Kabuki Brush
lgoddard2 2/19/2008 8:19:00 PM
I LOVE this brush! I have been wanting it for months now but have been unwilling to pay $28.50 for it. I gave in today. I used it to reapply a little of my Bare Minerals foundation this afternoon, and it was great! I can't wait to use it in the morning when I start fresh. It is the softest brush ever, and so pretty. If there comes a time when I need to replace it, I will not hesitate to buy another one!

Treatments (Eye) -Grassroots - Feast Your Eyes - eye cream [DISCONTINUED]
lgoddard2 2/19/2008 8:14:00 PM
I got a sample of this from my mom. I like it a lot! It is pretty standard as far as eye cream goes. But I really don't have that many problems when it comes to the eye area, so I'm not very picky with my eye creams. I'm not sure of the price since I am using a sample tube, but if it is cheap I will definitely repurchase!

Cleansers -Ponds - Fresh Start Daily Exfoliating Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
lgoddard2 1/27/2008 7:47:00 PM
I bought this on sale, and I have been pretty pleased with it. I have used up almost the whole tube, so I really can't complain about it. While there is nothing really "stand-out" about it, it is a really good bargain for drugstore brand. I would repurchase if I don't feel like spending lots of $ on cleanser.

Fragrances -Kate Spade - Kate Spade parfum
lgoddard2 1/24/2008 10:26:00 PM
I love this perfume. I have gone through two bottles in the last five or so years. I love it because no one else wears it, so it has always been my signature scent. I haven't used it in the past couple of years because it is expensive, and people keep giving me perfume as a gift so I feel like I can't splurge on it again just yet. However, for those of you who adore this scent: Target has come out with a fragrance called "Duchess." It smells a LOT like Kate Spade. I honestly can't tell a difference in the two scents. I bought a gift set of it today at Target with a lotion, shower gel, and body spray for $4.84 (on sale). So...although it isn't quite as nice as Kate Spade, it is a really good compromise if you're holding out (or saving up) to buy a new bottle of Kate.

Bath Treatments -Beauticontrol - Therma del Sol Detoxifying Bath Soak
lgoddard2 1/22/2008 11:39:00 PM
I have never actually used this as a bath soak like it is intended. Here is what I do with it: whenever I feel a cold coming on, have a cold, or am the least bit stuffy, I pour a capful into a little bowl with some hot water, soak a washcloth in it, and put it over my face. If I breathe it for a few minutes, it clears my sinuses up so well. Also, if you have a facial steamer, try adding a capful of this stuff to the water to be steamed for the same kind of effect. This has stopped my colds dead in their tracks time and time again. Will definitely repurchase, and I reccomend that everyone purchases it!

Scrubs -Beauticontrol - Spa BROWN SUGAR Scrub
lgoddard2 1/22/2008 11:35:00 PM
This was a fairly decent scrub. I do like the brown sugar scent. This exfoliated well, but I felt that the oil-to-scrub ratio was a little off....as in too much oil for the scrub. I always felt a little greasy after using it. I gave it a 1 for packaging quality because when I took it on a trip it leaked EVERYWHERE and now one of my favorite Vera Bradley bags is destined to smell like coconutty-brown sugar forever. :(

Misc Beauty Tools -GoSmile - GoSMILE B1 Whitening Kit
lgoddard2 1/22/2008 11:30:00 PM
Well I am 3 days into the process. So far I love it! My mom has already told me my teeth are too white from it and to stop. But I can never have my teeth white enough, so I love it! I plan to re-review after I complete the full package. I do want to give a review on the toothpaste (AM and PM) that came in the Go All Out package. This is the best toothpaste I have ever used. I have a hard time seeing myself spending $16 on a single tube of toothpaste. However, I would for this stuff! It leaves my mouth feeling SO clean all day long. I ate WAY too much sugary stuff today, and I never had any kind of plaque buildup on my teeth at all, which I normally do if I overdo it on the sugar. The smell and taste of both these toothpastes are wonderful. I will definitely be repurchasing again. I will post another review in about a week when I have completed the whitening process.
