I am surprised by the low reviews here. I actually like the product. It gives me medium coverage, and applies smooth and easy (I use brush, not the little sponge it comes with). It is very creamy, which is what my dry skin needs. My face doesn't flake after few hours of wearing it. Makes my skin dewey. Bad part though, I haven't used it every day since I got it, but I think it might be causing me to break out, which is a real bummer. Will update as soon as I know for sure. Also, it does have a strong fragrance (nothing off putting, just a concern for us with sensitive skins).

Gels/Soaps -Nubian Heritage - Soaps

I only use handmade soaps that I typically get on fairs or little gift shops as they are so much better and gentler to your skin that anything you can buy. I gave these soaps a try after reading their ingredients, which are mostly just shea butter and some other butters and oils, and thought it may give the same results as my homemade soaps. And it does. Great for the skin. Very mild and gentle. Nice lather too. Definite repurchase. Great price on vitacost as well.

Lotions/ Creams -Cerave - Moisturizing Cream

I absolutely love this cream. Got it on the account of great reviews here on MUA and haven’t regretted it yet. I’ve used lotion during summertime, and switched to this during winter, as my skin is very dry. I also have sensitive skin that can’t tolerate very many things. I find CeraVe to be mild and calming. No redness using this product, unlike very many other lotions and creams I have tried in the past. It has been a part of my skin care regimen for over a year now, and I plan on repurchasing again (though I don’t see that happening any time soon as it lasts forever!). Great value for the money; very inexpensive. Would prefer a better, more sanitary packaging, but I'm not complaining.

I use this as an after shower moisturizer and I really like it. It is on a heavier side, but it does melt easy and it absorbs pretty fast. Very moisturizing; lasts a very long time on my dry and sensitive skin. Nice citrusy and clean smell. Love the simple, no nonsense ingredients list!

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Un-petroleum Multi-Purpose Jelly

I really enjoy this product. I bought it as an alternative to regular petroleum jelly and it works wonders. It is thinner in consistency than petroleum jelly but it is still on a thick side. Melts fast but it takes a while to absorb. I don’t mind this as I use it overnight. I’ve had seriously chapped and dry hands because of my job (frequent washing). Using this nightly for less than a week gave my hands a total makeover. Now I can go back to using my regular lotions, but I still like to use this at least once a week as a hand mask. I also use it on my lips, and I swear it is the best lip gloss ever! My feet (especially heels), elbows, and other typically dry areas love this as well. All in all, a great and much healthier alternative than plain ol’ petroleum jelly. A little goes a long way, and this one tube will last me a year!

I absolutely love this cologne. Bought it for my brother for his birthday, and he really enjoys it too. It is a very sexy scent, masculine and elegant. Not overpowering. Lasts a long time. Would definitely buy again, especially as a gift, with confidence.

Oh, how I hate the price of this. I’ve been using this for months, every two to three days or so in the morning. I leave it on for about 5 minutes, and than follow with my regular regimen (moisturizer, ss, tinted moisturizer or EDM foundation). My sensitive skin loves it! Contrary to my fears, I had no stinging or redness using this. Smell is off-putting (bacon, indeed), but something you can definitely get used to. The change to my skin wasn’t dramatic using this, but it did even out my skin tone. This is preventative, so don’t expect miracles. But it is one of the very few ingredients out there that is statistically proven to ward off unwanted ageing effects. I just ran out of it, and I really hate to pay such a high price for it. But I will. It is worth it. I’m turning 30 this month, and nobody believes me. I look younger because I take care of my skin! This will be my b-day present for myself I guess. =)

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Glycolix Facial Cream (by Topix)

I bought 10% strength as I have very pale, sensitive skin prone to redness. I was really scared to try this, but have heard so many positive benefits of using facial glycolic acid that I finally gave in. Very happy I did. I had absolutely no bad reactions from it. Barely noticeable stinging when I applied it for the very first few times, but after that, nothing. No redness or other adverse effects either. Just smooth, soft skin. I typically follow this with my Jason vitamin E oil, and this combination works wonders on me. Absolutely love it. I only use it once to twice a week as I also use Avene Eluage (retinol product). I’m turning 30 this month, but my skin looks awesome so nobody believes my age. Don’t forget to use sunscreen/sunblock after using this at night! Also, price is great on this whole line of products!

I love coconut oil. It is a special treat for my skin and hair. I don’t put it on every night; rather I use it a weekly treatment. It absorbs really fast and surprisingly it is not oily. It makes my skin soft and supple. I was a little disappointed that it is not highly fragranced as I hoped, but it does have a faint coconut smell. I use extra virgin kind (Nutiva brand). The jar will last me a long time as a little goes a long way. I put it all over my body and on my hair before I wash it. Did not try it on my face yet as I’m afraid it will be too rich or it might break me out, but judging by reviews this is unlikely to happen. Will always keep this in stock.

I got this as a makeup remover thanks to grand reviews here, and I did not regret the purchase. I don’t use much make up, but I do use mascara everyday, and this takes it off easily. I also like that it doesn’t dry my skin out unlike some traditional mascara/makeup removers. Lately, I decided to rub a few drops around my smiley lines in eye area at night, and oh my God, it does wonders for that too! I haven’t tried it in hair yet (once in a while I use coconut oil), but will sure venture down that road again too. I should mention that I have sensitive skin, and this product had only positive effects on it. The bottle will last me a long time, as I only need a few drops at a time. Great purchase, and all natural too! Will buy again.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - EverPure Volume Shampoo

I went through a few tubes of this shampoo and I like it. It doesn’t volumize, at least not my hair, but than again, not a single volumizing shampoo that I’ve tried does. I got the volumizing version because I was afraid that any other will weigh my hair down. I find this shampoo gentle on my thin, straight, highlighted hair, so much that I don’t have to use a conditioner (and that never happens). I like the fact that it doesn’t make my hair fall out, a fact I learned after I switched to this from Organix (Coconut) shampoo. My hair gets oily fast, and this shampoo doesn’t help with that, but at least I feel safe washing my hair everyday with (it is not harsh like many other). I will still use clarifying shampoo once in a while, but for my everyday needs, this is what I cling to. I am surprised by a low rating, and I have to say that I don’t experience any static or other adverse reactions to it. I repurchased several times, but I do think that I will try the moisturizing version next, just to compare. Overall, I love this SLS free version of a drugstore shampoo, and will continue to buy.

One of my coworkers wears this and it smells so good on him. Very sexy, seductive, but not overpowering. Great scent!!!! Would definitely buy as a gift.

I"m in a minority here. I didn't care too much for this. First, I hate the packaging. I have to be extremely careful when opening to prevent the spillage. I do like the fact that it leaves my lips soft and non-sticky and non-shiney while applying. But it just didn't deliver... It doesn't last but for a few minutes. Sometimes, it makes my lips look even more flakey. It is just dissapointing all around.
