Lipstick -Maybelline - Lust for Blush Color Whisper
lexylynn 3/21/2013 12:02:00 PM
I am absolutely OBSESSED with this lipstick. Its a perfect cool toned pink with a tinge of nude. I was also hunting for a nice everyday pinky nude lipstick and was striking out all over the place. When I saw the display for these I bought three of them and hardly touch the other two because I am so obsessed with this one lol. It can be built beautifully, is moisturizing, wears average but idc, and its just perfect in every way. If you are thinking about it, you probably should have bought it yesterday.

BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
lexylynn 1/24/2013 2:51:00 PM
I wear Lancome's Teint Miracle almost everyday, not because I have awful skin, but because I just enjoy makeup and I really do like wearing it. Recently though, I've run into a bit of an eczema problem on my face. I put my Lancome on and my MAC pro long wear concealer and it covers it pretty well, but both tend to show the dry patches in this one classroom at my school that has the absolute worst lighting possible lol. So I went to the drugstore right after that class to pick up a light "foundation"that had decent coverage and a new concealer meant for really dry skin (this weather has been my worst enemy as of late... bout 19 degrees in NY). I walked out with this BB Cream. I saw like 4 or 5 shades there, and I picked up the second to lightest shade, the shade "Light" (I am NC15 in MAC foundations). I got it home and here's the deal: Shade: Terrible for me. The reason I returned it. For the second to lightest shade, let me tell you, this turned out pretty dark and orange looking. It comes out white and is supposed to adjust to your skin color, but I don't really buy any of that. The pigment is obviously in those little beads, and just pops out when you break them by rubbing it on your skin. Finish- Pretty matte to me and not bad coverage either. I would say light to medium. I was actually pretty impressed with the finish and coverage of it. Definitely more coverage than a TM offers, closer to a light foundation in my opinion. Price- It cost me like 12 bucks. Not so bad. L'Oreal is, typically, one of the more expensive drugstore brands so I knew the price would be somewhere in that neighborhood. Packaging- Comes in a squeeze tube, that or a pump is what I prefer so no complaints there. Overall, I wouldn't buy it again because I don't think that "fair" would match me correctly and "light" obviously didn't. It wasn't really that great a product for me, personally, because even if I could find a proper shade, I prefer and natural or dewy finish and this didn't do that for me.

Concealers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector SPF 25 in Fair 05
lexylynn 1/4/2013 12:23:00 AM
Finding an under eye concealer has been nothing short of a challenge for me. I have tiny little lines that any concealer I have previously tried has emphasized them to the point where they look like full blown wrinkles. I was trolling the drugstore before work one morning and picked this up on a whim. Price: I always felt like Neutrogena was a middle ground between drugstore and high end with its pricing. It is definitely on the pricier side of drugstore products. This cost me 13 bucks I think... so yeah, expensive for drugstore. Shades: I believe there are three or four shades of this. I am pretty light and I am the shade "light" in this (2nd to lightest). Definitely a rough buy for people with darker skin tones, but, then again, you are supposed to go a couple shades lighter on under eye concealer so you still might be able to get a shade that fits. Packaging: I really love the packaging of this product. It comes in a twisty pen with a brush on the end of it where the product comes out. Not too much is dispensed at one time so it is very controlled. It is coated in metallic silver, so it looks really high end. I've had mine for 4 or 5 months maybe and it seriously looks like I used barely any, though I use it every day. Formula: Loving the formula. It's not a creamy texture, I would call it more of a thick liquid. It is blendable and doesn't seem to settle into my fine lines, which is what I was really searching for in this concealer. It covers pretty well, but, to be honest, my dark circles aren't too bad so I can't fully vouch for the coverage but it does the job for me. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this concealer if you can get over a semi-high price tag for a drugstore product and can find a shade that you're happy with!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
lexylynn 12/30/2012 3:43:00 AM
I absolutely LOVE this palette! Like everyone else already stated, it is definitely a day to night palette and extremely versatile. I have gone very subtle with it and very dramatic. Every single shade is wearable and I have used every shade in the palette so the fifty dollar price tag is no big deal to me at all, and it has the added bonus of a dual sided brush and a cute lip gloss. My favorite colors in this palette are definitely Verve and Tease, I will definitely buy them as singles when this palette is gone. Verve is great on the lid and Tease is an AMAZING transition color for the crease and little bit above the crease. I take that back, I will probably ending up buying the ENTIRE PALETTE AGAIN BECAUSE I LOVE IT... I LOVE IT... I love it. The packaging is really durable and travel friendly. The brush is great, no shedding problems or anything like that. The lip gloss is wearable for any skin tone because it is definitely on the sheer side. The colors are really blendable and last all day. I LOVE IT.. OMG I LOVE IT. Overall, I would definitely recommend this palette to ANYONE. Though the price tag is a bit high, the quality of the product justifies it completely. ...Did I mention that I LOVE IT?!... Cause I DO!! I LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eyeliner -Eyeko - Skinny Liquid Eyeliner - Black
lexylynn 12/28/2012 1:21:00 AM
I am absolutely spastic when it comes to putting on liquid liner. Like, it looks like a four year old tried it and failed... because they are four. The way this pen is is fool proof! I actually get a nice line when I use it and I can build it up to be thicker or keep it subtle which I like. I haven't had any issues with it drying up and have had it for at least a month so, I guess whatever pen you get is a gamble when it comes to tha. The formula of this product is excellent to me, it stays on all night and dries to a more shiny finish then a matte one but it's not noticeable to me either way. The problem I have with it is the packaging. There is this little plastic thing inside the cap, that serves absolutely zero purpose, that ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, gets stuck on the top of the pen. I was using it tonight and went to pull it off and the eyeliner got all over my hand and it was SO annoying. Who in God's name decided putting that little thing in there would be helpful?! I ended up just tossing the damn thing out... you could waste so much product by getting it all over the place if that stupid little thing gets stuck. If you see it stuck once, just throw it the hell out. But other than the crappy packaging, the formula and everything else about it is not bad at all! I would buy again but will try my hand at some other pens.

Palettes -Unlisted Brand - Profusion Glamifeye Shadows-36
lexylynn 12/13/2012 1:31:00 PM
In my honest opinion, these eyeshadows are not being given enough credit! I bought this at a 5 Below and, let me tell you, I think these are really great eye shadows. Trust me, I'm no stranger to high end eye shadows, I have Naked 2 and a couple other ones, but these are seriously really good. I got this palette for 5 bucks and have used it a lot since I've gotten it. Sure, maybe by themselves they aren't the greatest but if you pair it up with a good primer, I use Painterly paint pot by MAC, or even E.L.F's dollar primer, you are GOLDEN. The colors are really REALLY shimmery and pigmented and you can't beat the price. If you ever see this palette anywhere, I urge you to give it a try. They have really pretty colors and you could create a lot of looks with it.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Studio Lip Exfoliator
lexylynn 12/10/2012 7:34:00 PM
I kid you not... I have lips so dry, sandpaper would be a step up. Even in the summer, my lips are peeling all over the place and I couldn't find anything to take care of the problem. I'm on elf's website and come across the lip exfoliator and ordered it immediately, thanks to the reviews on here and on the site. Let me tell you something, I did a couple of swipes with this bad boy and my lips are super smooth! It smells like coffee, moisturizes, and the little exfoliator beads are rough enough to get the dry skin, but not rough to the point where they are scratching you. It is the PERFECT product for dry, peeling lips and, honestly, if this works for me... it HAS to work for you. I mean, for three bucks, you can't go wrong. TRY THIS... RIGHT NOW! GO AND DO IT!! HURRY!

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
lexylynn 12/2/2012 4:30:00 PM
I went to Sephora in search of a really good pressed powder a month back because I had picture day the following day at school. I was seriously in there for like an hour looking for one, but most of them were translucent and the colored powders were all powder foundations. I didn't want a translucent powder because I was afraid of getting a white cast or something from it.. I'm paranoid. While I was in there, I remembered reading great reviews on this powder. So I left and went to Walgreens and picked it up and I LOVE IT. First of all, it keeps me matte for most of the day and it's totally affordable! I was about to drop like triple the price in Sephora and got an even better product for a better price! This is now my HG pressed powder.. I love it!

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
lexylynn 11/24/2012 5:32:00 PM
This is the best bronzer I own, by far! It is amazing! It is the perfect color for contouring and has no shimmer, sparkles, orange, or anything that would make it anything less than awesome. Its so pigmented so you don't need a lot, which makes it worth the high price tag, seen as you won't need much and you get a good amount of it. It doesnt look cakey.. it looks completely natural. I. am. obsessed. BTW... it smells like heaven. Like chocolate, straight up. I could smell it for hours.. I think I did when I first bought it home lmfao. I just can't get enough! I will DEFINITELY buy it again... GO TO bronzer.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Born With It
lexylynn 11/24/2012 5:20:00 PM
I love the color of this lipstick. I was looking for a pinky nude and this is definitely that. The problem I have with it is that it is terribly drying on me and I find it really hard to blend. I found the only application that works for me is to rub my finger on the top and then tap it on to my lips. It looks kind of like Angel from MAC (my new HG for everyday) but it is much more shimmery, nuder, and more drying on me. I would get it again cause I love the color, but Maybelline could definitely use some improvement when it comes to the formula.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Teint Dior Eclat Satin Foundation
lexylynn 11/2/2012 6:28:00 PM
I absolutely adore this foundation. I went to the Dior counter at my local department store and asked for a medium-full coverage foundation with a dewy finish and she recommended this one to me. Coverage: Medium. I wouldn't say full with one layer, but it's buildable so you can definitely have full coverage if you want. I usually put one full layer on, and then another layer over areas where I need a bit more and it covers them really well. Finish: Dewy dewy dewy! Just what I asked for. I have dry skin and I put this on with a moisturizer and without a moisturizer. Honestly, I didn't need a moisturizer with it, it came out really dewy and refreshing without it. Therefore, if you have oily skin, I wouldn't recommend it for you. Price: It cost me $47. Very pricy but it is worth it to me for the quality. Besides, foundations usually last a long time for me because I don't use them every day and when I do use them, I don't use more than a pump and a half. Packaging: Comes with a pump, a definite plus. The pump also has very good control and it's easy to get the exact amount you need. Color Range: I have this in shade 202, I think it is the second to lightest shade. From what I saw, this has the same range as the other Dior foundations... so a good range, there. Negatives- Has a bit of a smell, but I, personally, don't have a problem with fragrance in my cosmetics. The smell isn't bad, but it may be strong if your sensitive to that kind of thing. I wouldn't count that as a negative for me though. The price also may be a bit high, but, again, worth it in my opinion. I would definitely buy this foundation again, it is HG status for me. Perfect for something with great coverage and a dewy finish, a difficult combination to find. Highly recommended!

Liquid -Neutrogena - Skin Clearing Oil-Free Makeup
lexylynn 8/26/2012 2:19:00 PM
This foundation definitely does its job for me. I always use this whenever I have a breakout somewhere and it clears up pretty quickly while covering it at the same time. AWESOME! The price is okay for drugstore, but kind of expensive IMO. The only reason I didn't give it five lippies is because I have pretty dry skin and the salycilic (I know I probably BUTCHERED that word) acid in it made the foundation pretty drying, so it doesn't look the best on me, but I can deal with it because it really does help with the occasional breakout/zit. I hope they never discontinue it!

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
lexylynn 8/6/2012 3:34:00 AM
This is the worst foundation I have EVER used. Okay, so I go to the mall and buy this. I put it on at dinner on JUST my cheeks... to see how it covers. I'm satisfied... whatever. Thought I made a good purchase. 6 hours later, I wash my face, and I HAVE THE WORST ACNE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! My cheeks have tiny bumps all OVER the place. I don't know what the hell is in this... but my skin reacted terribly to it and I'm just praying these breakouts heal up fast. I'm breaking out in places I have NEVER broken out in before. This is a total nightmare and I WILL never use or buy this product ever again. TERRIBLE. I'm a complete mess over this right now and I regret buying this more than you'll EVER know.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
lexylynn 7/9/2012 2:19:00 AM
I bought this on a whim about a month ago and I've used it a few times. I'll start with the best thing about it... the packaging! The pump is awesome and allows you to get the PERFECT amount of product without overdoing it. I wish all foundations came like this. Through the bottle, you could see these really tiny sparkles, but I don't really see them when I pump it out. This actually excited me at first because I love glowy/dewy finishes, but this foundation left me disappointed... it was more matte than I realized which is not good for me because I have dryish skin. It really cakes on my forehead and settles into my fine lines, which I hate! I am usually the lightest or one of the lightest colors in foundations, so I picked up the lightest shade because it looked like it would match me in the bottle. I pump it out and it's practically white so be careful when buying it. Overall, the coverage is good, the packaging is awesome, the color is deceiving, the finish is satin but drying (on me), and it isn't worth the price to me. I wouldn't repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick - Myth
lexylynn 7/2/2012 11:32:00 PM
I went through a period a while back where I loved the look of Nude lipsticks. They weren't as popular back then, so Myth was the only one I could find. I LOVED it. The color was exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's super drying. My lips are sensitive already, so that was a real downer for me. Now I use it over lip balm and I use it to cancel out my natural lip color to have the full effect of other lipsticks.. or I use it if I go nuts with eye makeup. Overall, I would definitely recommend it but be aware of how drying it can be.
