Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - toilet seat covers

The best cheap (free) oil blotter ever. I use the middle of this to blot, then to line the toilet every time I use the bathroom.

Mascara -Unlisted Brand - Imju - Opera mylash

This is a good choice for anyone who likes Imju's Fiberwig. It's like Fiberwig-lite. Not as lengthening as Fiberwig, but the same thing with a cheaper price. I think I might go back to Fiberwig since I only bought this to save some money, but still a pretty good mascara.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Small Precision Brush
rated 5 of 5

Great brush, especially for the price. I use it for MAC gel eyeliner. Since it's a bit long, it's gentle on the eyes and a little more forgiving if you're prone to making mistakes. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it hasn't gotten super dirty/crusty. Would buy again (in fact, I bought a few extras).

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Candy Shop Lip Glosses (all)
rated 2 of 5

Got this stuff for free from e.l.f., thank god. I got the berry punch flavor. Decent color (adds a hint of color to the lips), but godawful smell and flavor. I can't bear to put this stuff on. Not even worth the $1 it sells for.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Thermal Creations Curl Activator
rated 3 of 5

This stuff makes my hair kinda crunchy, which I would think is kind of a hard feat considering it's rather thick. I don't spray too much, but on the spots that I spray, it gets tacky and a bit crunchy. Doesn't do much for my digital-permed hair. I like the bottle and spray nozzle, but I'll pass.

Polishes -Essie - Neon- Flirty Fuchsia
rated 4 of 5
letsgofaraway 2/23/2010 1:44:00 PM

Loooove neon polishes. Get a lot of compliments with this one, it's the most neon pink I've seen. As with all neon polishes, it's good if you have a white-based base coat, but I put this on without and it's fine. Just put on two or three coats and finish with topcoat. Lasts as long as a normal nail polish. Who else makes this color though?

Mascara -Prestige - Lash Matrix in Black
rated 3 of 5
letsgofaraway 2/23/2010 1:23:00 PM

First thoughts upon using this mascara for the first time: - felt kinda 'dry' the first time i pulled the wand out - the formula is either thick or dry, so the brush is a bit resistant to coming out - funny smell - kinda sweet-smelling like they had half-heartedly tried to perfume it? No thanks - brush is traditional - mascara color looks kinda flat, matte ashy black, not super black I have Asian eyelashes that need to be curled beforehand. I'm not a big fan of super-thick volume lashes, but length is always a plus results: - lashes are thicker but not sure about length - even though i wiggle the brush slightly, there are tiny little clumps along some of my lashes - may weigh down curl :( - may smudge a bit overall, ehh, not really worth trying. I'll stick to my imju Fiberwig for length and clean-looking lashes.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture Nurturing Creme
rated 4 of 5
letsgofaraway 2/10/2010 1:34:00 PM

This may be the most intensive conditioner I've had (my Japanese magic permed hair could use it), so I do like what it does - hair feels smooth, thick and healthy. I'm Asian, but it might be too heavy for fine hair types. Also, I take care not to get it in my scalp, as it's oily. Lots of slip in hair even when rinsed out. It's really thick - a small glob fell into my shower and didn't even dissolve in water as it went down the drain. Beware though, the stuff could start to build up in your drain, especially if you lose a lot of hair like I do.

Eyeliner -Styli-Style - Line&Seal
rated 4 of 5
letsgofaraway 2/10/2010 1:25:00 PM

Really love this eyeliner for the ease of application, staying power, washability (when washing face) and price. I love MAC's Fluidline eyeliner in the little pots, but "painting" my eyes with a brush was getting to be a hassle. I needed an automatic pencil-type liner that I could draw on my eyes (I'm Asian, so I line my eyes pretty thickly, kinda like how others are supposed to use the darkest shade of eyeshadow near their creases). So this liner is easy in terms of application, goes on nice, thick and dark, and stays put throughout the day. Just as importantly, it mostly washes off with soap and water and night (for some reason there's one spot in each eyelid where it seems to be holding strong, so have to makeup-remover it). what can I say, I'm lazy and don't want to go an extra step with eye makeup remover. So cheap price, good staying power and pigment and good packaging. The only thing that would improve it is a blender/smudger thingy at the end, like the Maybelline ones do. But I thought this black color was more black and less blue like some other black eyeliners, so I prefer it.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Volume Exact [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
letsgofaraway 2/10/2010 1:17:00 PM

After reading the reviews, this mascara sounded like exactly what I was looking for - some volume (not too much, I hate that "I have mascara on!" look), lash separation. I've used it for two days now, and on both days, the mascara completely killed the curl on one of my lashes. I need that curl! I'm Asian with decent-length (for an Asian) lashes that either stick straight out or curl the wrong way, so I always use a curler before mascara. But this stuff straightened out my left lashes completely. For reference, I love the Imju Fiberwig mascara for length, but wanted something to kick up the volume just a notch. As for volume, it's ok - if you're looking for mega volume, look elsewhere. Didn't do much for length, but doesn't profess to. However, it does start to get a little too thick with a few swipes - some of my lashes started to stick together. Will not be repurchasing.

Mascara -Dejavu (Imju) - Fiberwig Lash Knockout
rated 5 of 5
letsgofaraway 4/17/2008 10:31:00 AM

I love this mascara. I have stick-straight short Asian lashes and this lengthens beautifully - I've had people ask me if I had false lashes on. I don't want volume at all (not into the thick spidery look) so this is perfect. I just curl beforehand and apply a few coats, especially to the ends. Holds the curl just fine, doesn't smudge easily, and makes my lashes nice and looong. I've never had a problem with any flaking. Repurchased yesterday even though I wanted to find a cheaper mascara.

Top/Base Coats -New York Color - Extra Shiny Top Coat
rated 5 of 5
letsgofaraway 5/30/2007 11:47:00 AM

I have to echo everyone else, this stuff works perfectly fine and is DIRT CHEAP. It's not too thick, not too thin, ridiculously shiny, and lasts a long time. There's no point spending any more for another brand.

Shampoo -Aussie - Cleanse and Mend
rated 4 of 5
letsgofaraway 5/30/2007 11:31:00 AM

Great stuff - I have no faith in 'combination' products (i.e. the shampoo will be too gentle/moisturizing and the conditioner too watery) but I'm happy with this one. I have oily roots and extremely dry ends, so I usually end up buying a normal or clarifying shampoo and then using an unrelated heavy-duty conditioner. This is clarifying enough for my hair (it's not as oily by the end of the day, though I wash it every day) and I don't worry too much that it will dry out my roots. At the price (cheaper than Pantene, etc), I'm very happy. The bottle cap should be redesigned - I leave it closed but not sealed cos it's impossible to open with slippery fingers. I love the smell too. I use this shampoo with Aussie's Moist conditioner.

Fragrances -Salvatore Ferragamo - Incanto Charms
rated 4 of 5
letsgofaraway 9/20/2006 4:09:00 PM

I don't wear perfume at all normally because a) I get SO sick of the smell after one day of wearing a scent, and b) I don't like musky smells that make up most of the base notes. That said, I love Incanto Charms. It's heavy on the top and middle notes, very low on the base notes. The staying power is pretty bad, but I'm guessing this is why. I'd prefer more top notes to base anyway, and this IS a summer perfume. I have a slightly "younger" taste so the fruity-floral really appeals to me. I've had guys tell me I smell REALLY good. I think it smells amazing, even though I am left pretty much with that honeysuckle-y smell for most of its life. But I'd rather re-spritz than wear musk the whole day.

Self Tanners -Vaseline - Healthy Body Glow Daily Moisturizer - Medium [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
letsgofaraway 6/4/2006 12:37:00 AM

I used the Jergens Natural Glow lotion before, but stopped because of its NASTY smell. The Vaseline has a much better smell, but it turned me orange! I have naturally yellow tones in my skin (I'm Asian), but damn, I'm still a human, not a carrot. I really wish it worked.
