Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Pure White
lestrange 4/6/2013 11:21:00 PM
I like to wear white liner on my waterline. This liner was very soft and very pure bright white in color. It applies very easily to the waterline. However it does not last very long. Since it is so bright white, that's honestly not that bad of a thing since it looks better (less unnatural and obvious) once some of it disappears. In general I liked the liner and will look into some of the other colors since I think they would make excellent liners, just not on the waterline.
This is my first Shiseido product, and I am very impressed. I have this in Brown (BR 602) which is a very muted dark brown. I normally use black liner but I wanted something a little less bold for a more professional look and this was perfect. It isn't a rich warm brown that would look obviously brown on the eyes, thus from a distance it can pass as a less harsh black. The pencil is buttery soft and so it glides on easily. It stays put by itself but if you rub your eyes it will smudge. It's also long wearing. I had no problems sharpening it and the cap fits snugly. It comes with a blender on the other end, which I can't say that I've used more than a handful of times though (nothing to do with the blender, just my personal preference). I would definitely repurchase this and will be exploring other Shiseido products.
This is a review for the Boots Hawaiian Islands Coconut and Hibiscus Body Butter. This stuff is amazing! It smells good enough to eat (if you like coconut). It is very rich and moisturizing leaving your skin silky soft for hours. The tub packaging is like that of the Body Shop body butters but the product is different. This is thicker than the typical Body Shop butter but not quite as thick as the ones for dry skin, and are overall not as greasy and absorb much faster. In my opinion Boots is far superior. I definitely intend to try the other scents they have to offer.
This is probably my favorite mascara that is still on the market. I discovered it a few years ago and just keep coming back to it. Its a good mix of natural and dramatic - so its appropriate for any occasion. I love that its very black and lengthening. The wand is still a traditional bristle one (instead of the rubber ones popular now) which I like (since its definitely necessary to make voluminous long lashes). It's performance is probably equal to a lot of other mascaras out there, but it comes of so easily! I coat my lashes very thickly, so I don't know if this works for everyone, but for me it is easily removable with just water - get your lashes wet, wait a few seconds, and you can gently remove the mascara in clumps that slide off your lashes. Definitely something I will repurchase again and again!
Lip Liners -Rimmel - 1000 Kisses Stay-on Lip Contouring Pencil in 049 Natural

I wore this lip liner down to a nub. It was my daily every day wear liner. It's a nice natural looking color - sort of a light brown peach. It's not quite pink enough to be flesh toned though. I would call it a dupe for MAC's Gingerroot (with the main difference being Natural is more matte and Gingerroot has more of a pearly sheen). The formula is very soft so it glides on nicely. It has decent lasting power and provides a nice base for lipstick or gloss. Overall, I was impressed with it. I'm definitely going to check out some of the other shades Rimmel has to offer.
As far as functionality goes - it does exactly what a hairspray is supposed to do. It held my style in place for a good portion of the day. It really was weightless and did not make my hair feel weird or crunchy. UV protection is a nice bonus. However as far as the scent, one of the worst hair sprays I've had. It was very unpleasant to me- it smelled like a milder version of the Orlando Pita hairspray. I can't quite define the scent, but reminds me of Old Bay seasoning for some reason. If it wasn't for the scent, I would repurchase.
Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - NIA24 Sun Damage Prevention UVA UVB Sunscreen SPF 30

Overall I thought this was a great daily sunscreen. It was pretty light - creamy but not thick in consistency, did not leave my face oily, and did not leave a white cast. The scent was a bit odd but not bad. For me personally, it did not stand up to its claims of improving hyperpigmentation/sun spots, and I can't say that I noticed any change of any sort in my skin, but I wasn't expecting to. I just bought this for my daily SPF routine. This is probably my favorite sunscreen that I've ever had, and the only reason I will not repurchase this specific product is that I am now trying to stick to physical sunblocks instead of chemical ones.
This, as advertized, is a gentle and moisturizing cleanser. It is not your typical gel cleanser, but rather a white thick cream which does not foam up. It reminded me of women using cold creams in the past to remove make up. It works well even at removing makeup. The scent was a bit unusual, but not anything unpleasant. I do believe it worked well and did clean my face in a gentle manner - left my face moisturized and not tight, and more supple and soft. This is probably a good thing, but I just could not get used to using this type of cleanser as part of my regimen. I have combo skin and I prefer something that lathers and feels squeaky clean. I ended up using it as a cleanser and make up remover in the shower, where it was easier to wash off. Overall, a good product for those with dry skin or in the winter time for people with normal skin. However, not an essential product for me.
I have this in Blue/Red Light 08. I was extremely pleased with it because the color match was perfect which is very hard for my light cool toned skin to find. The coverage is fantastic for a liquid concealer. The squeeze tube is good until you get close to the end, but that is expected. It's half an oz in size, so it lasted a super long time too. Overall I am very pleased with this product and I'm definitely repurchasing for when I need a concealer with this texture. This is definitely making me want to look into other Prescriptives products!
Skincare - Body -Mario Badescu - Special Cleansing Lotion O

I've struggled with bacne since I hit puberty. I've tried the basic acne body washes like Neutrogena, and none ever did anything for me, so I pretty much gave up. I recently discovered the amazingness of Mario Badescu products, and when I saw this I had to try it. I honestly counldn't believe that it actually worked! It didn't cure me completely, but there was a significant improvement in a fairly short amount of time (started noticing a change after 1 week, major change 1 month). I was also using the aha body soap at the same time, so maybe that has something to do with it too.
I love this color. It's a very cool toned hot pink. It's blue based so its kind of purple-pink. It looks amazing on my cool toned pale skin. It applies smoothly and one thick coat is enough for me. It also dries pretty fast. It's comparable to other Essie polishes. Definitely something I will buy again and again.
Conditioner -Rusk - Deepshine Oil Advanced Marine Therapy Conditioner

This, along with its shampoo counterpart, is my new favorite conditioner! It is very moisturizing and leaves hair oh so soft! It has a strong scent and smells kind of masculine but also very minty. I actually really love the scent. I have definitely seen a difference in my hair when using this set. My hair is very soft, manageable, silky, shiny, yet still has lots of volume. Usually oil based and moisturizing type conditioners weigh my hair down, but not this one! I'm totally in love with this line and will definitely repurchase.
Shampoo -Rusk - Deepshine Oil Advanced Marine Therapy Shampoo

I'm always looking for sulfate free shampoos and so I tried this on a whim. I am so glad I did! This is my favorite shampoo now! It has a strong kind of masculine scent but it is pleasant and addictive, kind of minty. It is very thick and lathers well. It cleans my hair well while leaving it silky soft. I definitely noticed a difference in the way my hair looked when I used this and the conditioner that goes with it, which almost never happens when I switch shampoos. My hair was softer, silkier, shinier, less frizzy yet still a great amount of volume. I am definitely going to repurchase this!
Gels/Soaps -Mario Badescu - AHA Botanical Body Soap
lestrange 7/31/2012 9:12:00 PM
Best body wash ever! I had no idea how well this would work. I really had no expectations about it but it ended up getting rid of my keratosis pilaris on my arms and preventing breakouts on my back after just a few uses. I was really amazed and have repurchased it in the 16 oz size and will continue to do so. It has a soapy but nice scent. It is packaged in the typical Mario Badescu squeeze bottles. I hope others have as much luck with this as I have!
Cleansers -Mario Badescu - Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
lestrange 7/29/2012 12:46:00 PM
This is a very nice cleanser from Mario Badescu. I like that it is able to form a lather unlike some of the brand's other cleansers. It has a very soapy scent. My skin definitely liked this stuff. I had no bad reactions from it (no break outs, dryness, irritation, nothing), and in fact I think my skin was clearer (less breakouts) and just more even looking. I'm definitely pleased with this and most of the Mario Badescu products. Since it is a product that is suggested to be used 2-3 times a week, I used it in the shower. The bottle lasted me for about 6 months. Definitely a good deal! Highly recommended.
