Treatments -Burt's Bees - Herbal Blemish Stick
leslilly 6/9/2008 12:28:00 AM
Yep, I still need a blemish stick. I really thought that by this age, I wouldn't...anyway, this is my fave! Not only are BB's products natural, they smell yummy (to me - if you like the smell of herbs, you'll like this). Anyway, I love the aroma, love that you can't tell you have the blemish med on (under or over makeup). It is watery, so be careful when applying on your forehead - it tends to want to run south near the eyes. Since I started using this product in Febuary of 2007, I haven't purchased another brand.

Misc Beauty Tools -Avon - Forgive & Forget Eye Makeup Remover Pencil
leslilly 6/9/2008 12:05:00 AM
I don't even know if Avon makes this product anymore...if you can find on, grab it! The previous reviewers are correct - it lasts forever. Lately, I use it for something else though - eyebrow taming gel never works for me, so I use a bit of this Forgive and Forget pencil. It is wax-like. I work a tiny bit into my brows with an eyebrow brush, and voila! Holds much better than the brow gel.

Toners -Burt's Bees - Rosewater & Glycerin Toner
leslilly 6/9/2008 12:01:00 AM
As I've gotten older, I find I don't need the harsh astringent toners that I was so hooked on in my teens and 20's. I love the BB Rosewater toner. I don't use it very often (my skin has changed), but it does the job when I do use it. It is very gentle, but it still feels like it gets my T-zone clean. Love it! Hard to find though..so I order it on drugstore.com (I love drugstore.com - free shipping, cash back AND points towards gift certificates if I buy at their site through memolink.com....yeah, I love getting rewarded for shopping!)

Foundations -Philosophy - the supernatural airbrush canvas
leslilly 6/8/2008 1:42:00 AM
Terrible. I am so disappointed in this product. I have combo skin - this product accentuates my oily t-zone. I got it in the lightest color, I believe - porcelain. It looks totally off. The color is too dark and it leaves a shimmery hue all over my face. I think it has zinc oxide in it (for the SPF protection)...anyway, very shiny, very unattractive, very expensive especially considering it does not work. Also, the packaging - beware. I accidentally popped off the sponge top and spilled half the contents all over the place. Nice. Now regarding the "airbrush canvas" claim that they make about this product...I don't get it. I've tried it several times and I look the opposite of airbrushed. What a waste of money and a huge disappointment.

Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - The Gingerbread Man Foaming Bubble Bath & Shower Gel

Horrid product. So glad it was a gift and I didn't waste my money on it. The aroma was blah. The product didn't suds up very well. I was told that Philosophy is an incredible brand but this made me not believe it.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
leslilly 6/8/2008 1:31:00 AM
I'm on the fence about this mascara. Once again, I bought into the hype and finally forked over the $$$ for this mascara. It DID make my lashes look longer and drew attention to my eyes.....but it is an odd mascara. It has little fibery pieces that extend out and look clumpy. These pieces dry up quickly and flake. Not good, especially considering this mascara is so costly. Also, it didn't last long. Although the tube still has mascara in it, it is so dry that I am tempted to throw it away. I am still on the hunt for a great mascara that gives me the thick long lashes but doesn't look clumpy and flakey.

Blush -Cargo - blu ray Blush/Highlighter
leslilly 6/8/2008 1:27:00 AM
I'm a person who buys into hype (if I hear enough of it). That said, I finally bought Nars Orgasm blush after reading rave reviews about it (over and over again). I was really disappointed w/Nars. However, THIS blu-ray blush/highlighter by CARGO is MY holy grail of blushes! Everything I've ever read - all the glowing reviews about Nars blush - apply to the blu-ray. I got a sample from Sephora and the blush and lipgloss was so amazing that I immediately ordered them. I hope CARGO never discontinues this line. Amazing color - lights up my entire face.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
leslilly 6/8/2008 1:23:00 AM
Finally, an eye product that works! I have tried a ton of the base products...I have oily eyelids and my eyeshadow always creases and wears off immediately. This stuff ROCKS! I could not believe how great my eye makeup (including liner) looked at night (after wearing it all day). My makeup still looks so good after 12 hours that I almost don't want to take my makeup off at night (and that's a first). I love love love Urban Decay Primer Potion and will be buying it again soon. The only caveat is that it doesn't last long. I can see having to buy this product 4-6 times a year. However, it is worth it.

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Lemon Aid
leslilly 6/8/2008 1:18:00 AM
To give BeneFit the benefit of a doubt, let me first say that I bought this product on eBay and have no idea how old it truly was. That said, I found it to be difficult to blend - cakey, dry. I didn't even use up the product - it was such a pain to work with. It was hard to get the look even on both eyes...Total pain in the __. The compact it comes in was nice - had a mirror and wasn't cheesy. Didn't break. That said, I would never buy this again.
