Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes - Strawberry Glaze
leonie_au 8/28/2005 7:54:00 AM
I have a mini tube of Strawberry Glaze that literally lives in my makeup bag, so it's one of my most often used lip glosses. Very pretty dusty, slightly shimmery pink which is more pigmented than most other Juicy Tubes in my collection. Suits my NC15 skintone nicely.

Blush -Bonne Bell - Gel Blush [DISCONTINUED]
leonie_au 8/26/2005 2:44:00 AM
These have just hit Australian shores... I couldn't decide between the Pink & Red, so I bought both!! First, I tested the Sheer Pink on my lips and it barely showed up, so I tried the Sheer Red and it gave them a pretty, rosy tint. Applied some clear lip gloss over the top and it created a berry-stained look. Then I applied the Sheer Red to my cheeks which made them flush ever-so-slightly, so I applied another thin layer and it made me look as if I'd been out in the sun all day. Think: Ian Somerhalder's ultra-rosy cheeks. I think I'll stick with one application of these to create a more natural look on my fair [NC15] skin. :) I'm hoping the Sheer Peach makes it to Australia as it sounds so divine!!

Concealers -MAC - select cover-up
leonie_au 6/16/2005 4:30:00 AM
I bought MAC Select Cover-Up to cover my hardcore undereye dark circles and wasn't sure it would work (as many others have failed) but think this might be my newest HG. I needed to apply 2-3 thin layers to completely cover my dark circles but it didn't cake and the coverage lasted all day. It's so light in texture but quite creamy. I also used it to cover the redness around my nose and some light blemishes. I think it would also make an excellent eyeshadow base. I've been using NC20 but think NC15 is a much better match for me. Comes in a cute little squeeze tube which seems more hygienic than the usual sponge/brush concealer applicators. Winner!!

Fragrances -Escada - Island Kiss (edt)
leonie_au 4/7/2005 2:59:00 PM
Not a fan of any perfumes smelling of tropical flowers and/or fruit, and Island Kiss is about as fruity as you can get. Think: passionfruit overkill... bleurgh! Smelling the nozzle of the tester bottle was almost enough to make me keel over.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist

This made my skin feel like silk on application but after about six weeks' of daily use, I found no difference in my skin's overall condition. Overrated and even more overpriced!

Fragrances -Chanel - Cristalle

Cristalle? More like citronella. Yuck!! I'm a big fan of citrus-y scents (particularly bergamot) but to me, this one smells like lemon dishwashing liquid with a couple of indistinctive grassy/floral notes in an attempt to sweeten it, I suppose? Not for me...

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Sparkling Clean Purifying Mud Foam Cleanser
leonie_au 4/7/2005 2:37:00 PM
I bought this via eBay to try on my oily/combination skin but found it far too drying, and it stung if I accidentally got some in my eyes. It removed makeup effectively but I'll stick with my HG cleanser -- Lancome Gel Clarte --from now on!

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
leonie_au 4/7/2005 2:35:00 PM
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is often raved about by beauty editors in magazines, but I don't understand the hype. Yes, it's gentle but it doesn't cleanse particularly well, and won't remove makeup. I wish it did so I could save some $$$ on cleanser! My mum loves using it but I'll be sticking with my Lancome Gel Clarte.

Lip Treatments -Clinique - All About Lips

Clinique All About Lips is nasty-tasting and useless, but at least it didn't sting me like All About Eyes did! I much prefer the Clinique Superbalms as a treatment product.

Lip Treatments -Clinique - Superbalm Tinted Lip Treatment in Plum Tint
leonie_au 4/7/2005 2:28:00 PM
Clinique Superbalms are the most moisturising lip glosses I've ever tried!! Plum is what you'd expect of the name... an unscented, sheer berry tint that compliments my cool NC20 skintone. These only have a very slight tint so don't expect them to show on your lips if they're quite pigmented.
