Lip Gloss -Beaute Cosmetics - Lipgloss in Chimera
lenkaaa 10/11/2008 9:37:00 PM
I absolutely love this gloss and here is why. I am always wary of plumping glosses b/c they rarely plump as opposed to just irritate the lips. The irritants make the lips red and swollen, but the reaction is very temporary and unpleasant. The Beaute glosses uses tiny dehydrated marine collagen micro spheres, the same ones as LipFusion does but for a lot cheaper. The plumping is noticeable but more realistic than other plumpers, and there is zero burning, but a slight cooling effect. The texture of the gloss is gel-like and is a bit sticky, but not gloopy, rather non-budging. The feeling on the lips is slick and wet, which I like, and I was never bothered by it being on my lips at all. Lasted about 8 hours which is impressive considering I smoked, drank, and nibbled on some french fries. The color of Chimera is described as salmon pink on the site. And I think that is pretty accurate. It is definitely pinkish, with cool peachy undertones and subtle shimmer. It is like NARS Orgasm blush turned into a gloss [a much better version than the actual NARS Orgasm l/g, and much better texture]. The packaging is very sleek and sophisticated, and there is a very generous amount of product and is worth the $26 price tag, since this is a gloss which is better than all the other high end glosses of the same price range. NOTE: the applicator is a brush and when you first open it it will like be splayed with hairs sticking out in all directions. This is due to the microspheres. If yours is like that, then just wipe it clean and run under really hot water for about 30 seconds. It should then form into shape and retain it for as long as you use it, unless you let it sit unused for a long time. This advice is from Beau [the creator] himself and it does work. About me: NW20, blonde, blue eyes, cool toned, very lightly pigmented lips. Bottom Line: I highly recommend the gloss and will purchase more in the future as well as any other products Beau will put out b/c I am confident they will be just as great.

Mascara -Bourjois - Volume Glamour Ultra Black Mascara
lenkaaa 4/17/2008 12:17:00 AM
Even though i am a blond and pale i always look for the blackest mascara i can find b/c i love to emphasize my eyes. SO naturally when this came out i had to try it and i will never ever stray! it really is very black, but not glossy black more like matte. the brush is medium sized which i like b/c huge brushes leave me with marks on my eyelids b/c they are difficult to wield. this does not flake on me and works with my very sensitive eyes and contacts. it is not perfumed like Diorshow [ack!]. the volume is very nice! my lashes at least triple in volume with 2 light coats. it does dry fast, so you need to work a little faster than with other more watery mascaras. there is never a blob of mascara at the end of the brush which is very important to me. the tube lasts me about 4-5 months with daily use [i clearly do not follow the 3 month rule]. the only downside is that it is not waterproof at ALL. however, if lets say u cry and do not rub ur eyes, it will not deposit itself on your skin, but will dry again and stay put. sometimes when i tear up, i gently brush my finger under my lashes, and remove the bits that got wet, the rest stays intact. many Sephora's have been getting rid of their Bourjois display, and noone can tell me if they will no longer carry the brand at all. SO i went to the main Sephora in my city and stocked up on it just in case. i love it!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Sock Hop Lipglass - Heatherette
lenkaaa 3/25/2008 6:50:00 PM
BOTTOM LINE: this is the best l/g ever hands down!! ME: NW20, blonde, blue eyes PACKAGING: typical lipglass tube but with Hot Pink discoball cap DESCRIPTION/OPINION: gorgeous pigmented peach. It is slightly milky, which makes it suitable for cooltoned people like myself. The gloss brightens my entire face, making my lips look very glossy and summery. I did not think i could pull this off at first, but it is perfect. I have never ever considered a back-up of anything, but this may be the one! OTHER COMMENTS: i also tried layering it over lollipop loving l/s and while i liked it the l/s was not necessary imho, b/c the gloss is stunning on its own.

lenkaaa 12/3/2007 11:37:00 AM
i got a 1oz size in a set and repurchased a FS a few weeks later...the scent is divine, a little fruity and clean at the same time...the key for me is that it is very moisturizing and not greasy AT ALL at the same time...i use it every night and once during the day and in the windy chilly NY weather my hands have not cracked yet and they always do even with heavier creams...absolute HG! P.S. i think my SO uses this when im not looking...hmmm

Polishes -OPI - Have You Seen My Limo?
lenkaaa 12/3/2007 9:40:00 AM
my SO picked out this color for me and i was initially not pleased...the swatch at the store was so blah, but thats b/c they only used one coat...after 1 coat it is mauvey sheer purple and very unimpressive, but after 2 coats it is gorgeous!! it is a plummy purple with a silverish/gunmetal sheen and very complex green and red sparkles...it has a tendency to completely change depending on the lighting..and unlike the reviewer below i can't stop staring at my nails...it's a keeper!

Fragrances -Diesel - Fuel for Life
lenkaaa 11/18/2007 3:07:00 PM
i was so excited about the sephora sample and sprayed it on the second i got my order..it was very nice..i couldn't stop smelling my wrist...was even planning on getting a full size if SO would approve [he is sensitive to some scents] but i didn't..why you ask with the high ratings i gave it...well the entire time i felt the scent was so familiar...there was just something about it so i went to read the reviews and lo and behold the mystery was solved! it smells just like Lolita Lempika Midnight on me...the top note is a tiny bit different but the middle is the same at least on me it is...so i ambushed SO with LLM on one wrist and Diesel on the other and he could not tell the difference...therefore i would not repurchase [purchase] as i have 75% full LLM... i do adore the packaging but LLM is so much prettier anyway...also plz note like one other reviewer pointed out...the net/stocking thing is only on the larger bottle...

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint in Bellini
lenkaaa 9/18/2007 1:53:00 PM
storybookheroine below is absolutely correct...this is a sheer clear-peachy gloss with lots of shimmer and sparkles..at first i was disappointed b/c i wanted more pigmentation and this looked way too much like my beloved Chanel Seashell Glossimer...well turns out its very unique! a few minutes after application it washes all the color out of my lips leaving them slightly peachy and shimmery..i actually like this b/c i love "concealer lips" look when i do heavy smokey eye! the gloss is very non-sticky, stays put and this one came with a brush...if i ever ran out id repurchase at full price [unless Chanel brings seashell back]..btw this is a whopping 9g which is 3 times the amount of MAC and 9 times the amount of Stila lipglazes...so worth it

Lip Gloss -Becca - Glossy Lip Tint in "Maraschino"
lenkaaa 9/18/2007 1:48:00 PM
i was disappointed with how sheer the color turned out to be..i was expecting a somewhat sheer red but it is actually maraschino color. if you ever saw maraschino cherries this is the color of the liquid in which they are..on my barely pigmented lips it gives them a pink sheen that is very creamy...they are non-sticky which is great and last about 4 hours on me [i smoke and drink a lot of water so may be longer on others]...my gripe is that it has a doe foot applicator...i would not repurchase b/c i can get the same color from a CO Bigelow gloss

Eyeliner -Becca - Madagascar line and illuminate pencil
lenkaaa 9/18/2007 1:44:00 PM
out of the 3 i got this is my least fave...it is an orangey bronze on one side and gold with glitter on the other...the bronze is a bit too coppery for me and is not perfect for my complexion...the gold i was scared of at first b/c of the glitter but i used it over the bronze and the glitter stayed put all day..both sides are super pigmented and sooooo smooth! got it at the sale but would not repurchase at full price just b/c Mustique is so similar but goes better with my complexion

Highlighters -Becca - Mermaid Loose Shimmer Powder
lenkaaa 9/18/2007 1:39:00 PM
i love this highlighter...it looks drab in the container but IRL it is a gorgeous gunmetal with blue/green/copper duochrome sparkles...i didnt realize how gorgeous this was on my skin until i saw my picture from when i wore it and it was an ethereal glow...wish it cam in pressed form, but i think the pressed is dc'd...the value is less than MAC pigments but it is much more finely milled...if i ever finish it i'll repurchase

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Dumb Blonde Reconstructor
lenkaaa 6/16/2007 6:17:00 PM
i LOOOOVE this product! also recommended to me by my hair lady...i have color treated hair so i need something to keep it soft and shiny, and dumb blonde is it! even though it is called a conditioner i use it only 2-3 times a week b.c it is so effective. i slather some on in the shower and massage it into the hair and scalp, then wash it off completely: the result is silky smooth shiny hair! when my hair was long i could never brush it through, especially if i was in the pool, this completely saved it and it is amazing for color treated hair....i have already repurchased it [now comes with a new pleasant scent]...a 32oz bottle is $32 but lasts me with long hair for over a year, and with short hair i dont know if ill ever finish it LOL ME: short, thin hair, color treated, even though my individual hairs are thin i have a ton of hair overall =)
