Pressed Powders -Neutrogena - Shine Control Pressed Powder
lclc 9/9/2012 2:53:00 PM
HG! I press the powder into my T-zone with a sponge, then brush away the excess with a powder brush. My oilies are kept at bay for hours! I am pretty tan and this looks invisible on me. This works just as well as my Estee Lauder Double Matte Oil-Control Pressed powder. I also like the Neutrogena better than the MUFE HD powder. The MUFE made my skin feel a little itchy. The Neutrogena feels better on my skin.
This dries out my skin, even with a very heavy moisturizer (Lancome Precious Cells) underneath. And it is a booger to take off (have to use Ponds cold cream, a boots no.7 wipe, and then three or four cotton pads with a cleansing water). I loved, purchased, and repurchased the original teint idole ultra for years, but it's been discontinued. Sigh, I have to find a new foundation. Update: I also applied the teint idole 24hr over Estee Daywear Creme and it doesn't work with the texture of that creme. The foundation never seems to set when I use it over the Daywear. However, I tried the Teint Idole 24hr over a generous application of Lancome Absolue and it looked great. So I am going to keep it, especially since I like the Absolue moisturizer for wintertime. I can see how this foundation would be great for oily gals as it really seems to require me to use a heavy moisturizer underneath and absorbs the oils from my moisturizer. (I have combination skin: normal to oily T-zone and dry cheeks). I also find that after applying the Teint Idole 24hr, I need a spritz of Evian on my cheeks to help my cheeks stay moist and dewy.
This is a beautiful color. It sheers out nicely over lip balm, too. The taste of the lipstick though, seems to migrate into my mouth, even when I am not eating or drinking. It almost tastes like rancid oil. Maybe I got a bad batch.
Blush -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Blush & Highlighter

I bought this in Autumn Catwalk, and I have to say I agree with all the reviewers! This is an amazing little drugstore gem. It has great staying power, looks totally natural, doesn't sink into fine lines. I like this as much and at times better than my dior blush in passionfruit. They are quite similar, but the Rimmel is more pigmented.

Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 8.1%, Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, Polyglyceryl-3, Polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, Corn starch modified, Alcohol, Aluminum hydroxide, Stearic acid, Sodium chloride, PEG/PPG-18/18 dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, PEG/PPG-20/15 dimethicone, Tocopheryl acetate, Fragrance, Hydroxypropyltrimonium maltodextrin crosspolymer, disodium EDTA, butylene glycol, glycerin, pentalyne glycol, cucumis melo (melon) fruit extract, biosaccharide gum-4, thermus thermophillus ferment, lapsana communis flower/stem extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, potassium sorbate, rhodiola rosea root extract, sodium lauryl sulfate, benzyl salicylate, geraniol, citronellol, benzyl benzoate, butylphenyl methylpropional, hydrxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, limonene, hexyl cinnamal, linalool.
This is my go-to, quick, everyday eye shadow. Love! Worth the expense because of ease of application, staying power, and the understated, yet polished look it gives me.
Just purchased this and tried it once, but so far so good. No breakouts. It did not strip my skin. The Lancome website says it leaves skin squeaky clean, but that was not the case for me. It was clean, but seemed to leave my skin feeling a bit moisturized. Will update after I have given it a good run.
I just applied this about an hour ago so these are my first impressions. (I should preface by saying I tried the original Moisture Surge gel but it seemed to dry my cheeeks out). This new formulation is the perfect amount of moisture for my slightly oily T-zone. But it is not enough moisture for my dry cheeks. The texture is like a very, very thick gel creme. There is no fragrance listed in the ingredients, but there is a bit of a lemony scent to it that gives me a bit of a headache. (I am a person who is very sensitive to fragrances). My face feels a bit sticky but not in an annoying way at all. update: I've had this on for two hours now and my cheeks feel comfortable now. The scent has disappeared as well. Since it contains palmitoyl oligopeptide and is not too expensive, I will probably keep using it to see if it makes a difference in my skin. Will update again later. UPDATE 2/20/2012: This is really working for me! I spritz may face with spring water before applying this and it holds in the moisture. I use it every other night. (I alternate with an "anti-aging" night cream.) The scent doesn't bother me at all. If my cheeks feel a bit dehydrated, I will put this all over and then Cetaphil only on the dry patches. But most of the time, the Clinique is all I need. The only time my cheeks get dry is when I have been using salicylic acid products. Anyway, everytime I use this, I wake up with skin that is calmer, and soothed, and plumped up from the moisture. Sometimes the other anti-aging stuff I use can be irritating, so having a go-to product that can calm and soothe my skin is so important to me.
This just sat on my face, refusing to do anything but look cakey. If you have extremely perfect, flawless skin and apply it super sheer, maybe it would work. But for me, it just made my combo skin look oily all over. It highlighted every wrinkle and pore. It looked greasy, but powder over it looked cakey. This one is just not for me.
Concealers -Revlon - Age Defying Moisturizing Concealer (New) [DISCONTINUED]

This works so well for me! It covers my dark circles, isn't too drying, stays put all day and does not crease at all! I bought this in light/medium. I am comparing this to Lancome flash retouche pen (discontinued), Stila perfecting concealer (too thick and creases under my eyes), Lancome maquicomplet (not enough coverage), and Estee Lauder cream concealer (too drying). The shade on this is perfect for me as it really cancels out my dark circles. And it never, ever creases on me. Also, I don't have to use eyecream underneath if I am in a hurry which makes my morning routine easier and faster. I love my department store products, but this is a drugstore gem. It truly performs like a high-end product for me.
Highlighters -Clinique - Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator - Blush
lclc 7/18/2011 4:26:00 AM
I love this as a blush. I squirt a drop onto the back of my hand and use a damp sponge to apply to my cheeks. It leaves me with a subtle flush of color and a glow, but its not overdone or glittery or pore-emphasizing in any way.
Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Soft Clean Tender Creme Cleanser
lclc 7/18/2011 4:03:00 AM
I use this as a makeup remover. I massage all over my dry face and tissue off. I follow with Caudalie cleansing water. My face is left clean and moisturized. Since I follow with a cleansing water, the scent doesn't bother me.
Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - Renergie Microlift Eye R.A.R.E.
lclc 6/12/2011 6:56:00 AM
This is the only thing that gets rid of my very dark undereye circles! It works well under my concealor because its not too greasy and yet still moisturizes. I too wish it were unscented, but the scent doesn't bother me even though I am one who is very sensitive to fragrance. Also, I think all eye products should come in tubes, but I can live with the jar because there just isn't anything else out there that zaps my dark circles like this does. And a little bit goes a long way with this product, so the cost is worth it to me.
My all time favorite eyeshadow. Easy to apply, long-lasting, a highly pigmented but elegant color.
HG! Takes away shine for hours without looking chalky. Matches my skin perfectly! (I use Lancome Teint Idole foundation in Buff 6-W). I use this to set my makeup only on my T-zone and never have to touch up during they day.
