Polishes -OPI - Tickle my France-y
lavenderbleu 9/27/2011 11:33:00 PM
This is one of my favorite neutral shades. There's enough of a contrast with my skin that it still stands out in a complimentary way, rather than looking like mannequin hands (ha!). The wear is great with top and base coat. My only complaint is that I find OPI polishes to be kind of watery in general and difficult to apply. Other than formulation, this is one of my absolute favorites. I give it a 5 because the color is so chic and versatile.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear - Mint Sorbet

An excellent, opaque mint green. I actually like it better than Essie's Mint Candy Apple. Great to find a good quality polish at such an affordable price.

Blush -Jane - blushing blossom [DISCONTINUED]
lavenderbleu 4/11/2011 4:24:00 PM
This is a fantastic drugstore blush, and the one I reach for the most. The color payoff is really impressive given that these Jane blushes are so affordable. I originally bought it because it is supposed to be a dupe for Nars Orgasm. However, there is no shimmer so in terms of formulation I don't think it's a dupe. I would highly recommend this blush. It can be hard to find, so if you come across it, buy it.

Blush -NYX - Peach
lavenderbleu 4/11/2011 4:18:00 PM
I love the color of this blush. It's a great alternative to pink blush, which I tend to use the most. However, I really wish it were more highly pigmented. I'm pretty fair and I feel like you have to really layer it on to get good color payoff. That said, it's such a versatile shade and I can see using this a lot in the future. I also really like the packaging. Nothing over the top or clunky, which is great.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lipgelee in Slicked Pink
lavenderbleu 4/11/2011 4:11:00 PM
In terms of formulation, this is probably my favorite gloss. It feels moisturizing and isn't even slightly sticky. Such a beautiful cream, medium opacity product with a pretty peach color. I like to put it over Rimmel lip liner in East End Snob, which is a light pink shade. I also feel that you get so much for your money with this product. The volume of gloss in the tube is well above average. Also, the fact that it's a squeeze tube allows you to get everything out and not waste any. I'm not even close to being done with this and if it weren't discontinued I would buy it again.

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
lavenderbleu 3/26/2011 8:23:00 PM
I've been using this mixed with Colorstay for a few months now. On it's own, Photoready doesn't give quite as much coverage as I prefer, but mixed with Colorstay, it's kind of perfect. I use the shade Shell and haven't observed any real shimmers in it. I like the fact that it feels almost hydrating on the skin and it's easy to apply. The addition of a pump is excellent too.

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Shine Sensational in Tempting Toffee (#55)
lavenderbleu 3/26/2011 8:08:00 PM
This is one of my new favorites. I love that it gives a good amount color but it's not so opaque that it needs to be worked in with a lipbrush. The tone is so beautifully neutral. I can see this working on everyone. It's particularly good if you are fair because it sort of brightens up your face, making it a nice departure from typical nude glosses I normally wear. I also like that it's a straight up cream with no shimmer or sparkles.

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Venom Gloss in Wisteria
lavenderbleu 12/15/2010 1:03:00 AM
Really pretty pink that's very nicely pigmented and the plumping effect really works. I love wearing this in winter. It just brightens up my face. I think Duwop needs to lower the price of these glosses though. They are excellent but $18 is a lot to pay on a gloss.

Lip Gloss -New York Color - Liquid Lip Shine in Sheer Ruby
lavenderbleu 11/21/2010 10:28:00 PM
Such a pretty color! Not really a straight up red because it has a bit of bright pink to it, but nothing too garish. I also really love that these are creamy, not gritty. Has a nice sweet smell to it too, which I happen to like.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement
lavenderbleu 11/18/2010 4:11:00 PM
This is the best grey for my light NW20 skin tone. It has a little bit of blue/green to it versus mauve, which I really like. Love the wear on this too. I've had it on for four days with base and top coat. I'm still completely chip free! Also, these seem to go on sale more frequently than some of the other Sally Hansens.

Lipstick -Revlon - Moon Drops Creme - Persian Melon 585
lavenderbleu 10/21/2010 9:42:00 PM
This is a really bright watermelon pink that really brightens up the face. The formulation is very creamy and pigmented. However, I cannot stand the rosy, perfume scent of this lippie. I find it really overwhelming and unpleasant. I usually top it with NYC lip plumping gloss in clear which has a really minty scent and that helps a bit. UPDATE: I had to return this one. The smell/taste was just way too strong and offensive.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Pink About It [DISCONTINUED]
lavenderbleu 10/21/2010 9:03:00 PM
PRETTY! This is just what I was looking for. Seeing as coral pinks are EVERYWHERE right now (see the latest J. Crew catalogue featuring Nars Niagara), I've been looking for something in this color range that is wearable and flattering. I am really surprised by how good this looks. I'm matched as NW20, though I think I could pull off NC20 too and I'm slightly darker in the summer. The formluation is just right. It's matte but not chalky or difficult to apply. And while I like how it looks as a matte, it's nice to have the option to gloss it up with some lipgloss or skip it althogether. Makes this a versatile shade and very current.

Lip Liners -Wet 'n' Wild - #666 liner
lavenderbleu 10/15/2010 11:45:00 PM
After hearing this liner mentioned a lot and seeing as it was on sale for 40% off the already low price of $.99, on a whim I decided to "splurge" on this. Final cost was $.59! Woot! Got to love that kind of a bargain. Anyway, I had been wanting to try this one for awhile but I already have several liners that I barely use and figured this one wasn't crucial. Well, even though it's not crucial I can see myself using this quite often. It's a really good fall color actually. Lately I've been applying it as an all over color and then topping it with a gold shimmery gloss (Revlon - Foiled). Nice look that lasts longer than lipstick. I'm giving it a 5 for color, quality and value combined.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
lavenderbleu 9/28/2010 8:42:00 PM
This is my very first Mac lipstick purchase and I am not disapointed. I love the creamy texture and vanilla scent. In terms of the shade it's just very light and easy to wear. If I could change anything it would be for it to be a little more opaque. However, I think the fact that it's slightly sheer but not too sheer makes it easy to wear in that it adapts to your natural lip color. Very happy with this one. No wonder everyone raves about it.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Totally Toffee
lavenderbleu 9/28/2010 8:17:00 PM
This is a really natural looking color. Very work appropriate and kind of fool proof in that it would match up well with either a warm or cool eye/face look. It sort of reminds me of a Jennifer Aniston look as she usually wears a neutral nude shade. I find the formula to be a little too sheer for my taste though. In general, I just prefer creams and this one is more of a sheer, slightly frosty consistency. I'm also not very fond of the packaging on the CS line in general. The cap is too clunky and it seems sort of oversized, like they could have eliminated a lot of the plastic and made the cap smaller.Overall a nice color, but not my favorite formula.
