Eye Shadow -Chanel - Planettes Quad
laurus 6/25/2005 6:37:00 AM
These are the colors that are worth all 5 lippies. I dont give all Chanel quads fives just because all arent just as good. This contains a deep wine plum, shimmery brownish taupe, shimmery pinky taupe, and a gorgeous champagne rose shade. None of the colors are actually suitable for highlighting because my skin is so light but I can pick a highlighting shade for my brow bone from some other Chanel quad. This is made for a natural look and this quad gives you just that glam and sophisticated Chanel look. I mostly wear champagne on the lid and shade with one of the taupes. I never use all colors at same time. If I want to have intensive makeup I use the darkest wine on my outer corners but mostly I wear it as an eye liner. Then to the quality: In my opinion all shades in this quad are easy to work with. They all have nice pigment. This is now discontinued but you can find it from discount stores.

Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
laurus 6/24/2005 11:57:00 AM
This and Chanel powders are my Holy grails. In my opinion they act similarly. I love the container because it is very chic and practical. I have this in transparency 8 and it is a perfect fair shade for me. I love that this keeps my skin matte all day. I am not oily but I just think that now so fashionably glowy skin is not very attractive and often looks very greasy. Therefore I like my powder to not contain shiny particles. This also keeps my makeup on its place much better than most other powders I have tried. I love this.

Liquid -Chanel - Voile Universel [DISCONTINUED]
laurus 6/23/2005 5:34:00 PM
I swapped for this. I usually love Chanel foundation but did not enjoy this. I have had shade Vanilla and it was way too dark for me. Even though it is sheer it still makes me look muddy and icky. I threw it into a rubbish and my mom had found it and picked it up from there. Now someone wonders why did not I just give it to her at first place? She does not wear much makeup and I thought she would be bothered if I offer her my old stuff. So I quess she likes it. She is a little darker than me and she has kinda thicker and oilyer skin. I can tell it looked natural on her. This might be a great option for those who have aging skin because it brings nice youthfull radiance and is very sheer. And also this would be good option for men who want to wear something on their skin without it being very noticeably if you can tolerate a little bit feminine scent.

Self Tanners -Clarins - Radiance-Plus Self-Tanning Cream-Gel
laurus 6/23/2005 5:22:00 PM
Nice packaging and it is pretty fool proof as it cant really look horrendous after the first application. But I still did not like it. This was my first self tanner. After first application I did not see any difference. After second application my skin turns yellow. I dont think I look like this when I get sunkissed. I dont tan yellow. Sorry this just did not make it for me. The pump bottle is nice.

Eye Shadow -Guerlain - Radiant Colour Eyeshadow-Bronze Alliage No. 84

I had been passing by this product so many times dipping my finger in it and finally I bought it when they got it in Strawberrynet. I was looking for my perfect olivey eye shadow and first I thought this it is but it is not. It turns too much grey on me. It gives you a definitely a sexy smouldering smokey eye with some shimmer but it lacks something. Also I wore it to work with an eye shadow base and it just did not make it perfectly in a hot steamy kitchen. I have had many other shadows to last this kitchen steam so I dont think I have unrealistic expectations either. I give it three lipsticks because it is ok. The packaging is bulky but pretty, something you want to show off in public toilets retouching your makeup. I dont know maybe I am just tired with dark eye shadow. MAybe I need to take a break from my rutines and Ill update later if I change my mind about it.

Bronzers -Yves Saint Laurent - Poudre d'ete #1

Well I never owned this product. My friend has this powder and I saw her always applying it. She is very fair and in fact just as fair as me with Scandinavian colouring. She thinks it looks so good as it is not too dark. Well It is not too dark. In fact it is too light. It makes her skin yellowy/peachy and shimmery. I have never thought even once that shes got a real tan. I actually thought whats that odd golden patches of shimmer on her cheekbones. It is not orange but it looks weird and fake. The packaging is very nice though.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Quadra Eye Shadow in Dreams

I was at the department store and I was not going to buy anything. I was looking at some Dior quints but for some reason I dont have any lusts for any of their quints. So I looked at Chanel spring look and I got my eyes at this quad and I loved the shades. They were not too sparckly and glittery but almost matte and smooth though you definitely see the shimmer on the direct sunlight. The only pastel shade here is the light purple/lilac one. Then there is this champagne beige which is perfect as a highlighter or base. There is this delicious caramel beige. This color makes me hungry and I like to use it together with a champagne when I want natural look. And a black shade which is buildable which I love. Use it for a smokey eye together with the lilac one or/and as a liner. I think this quad has a pretty good lasting power compared to some other quads I have tried. I used Chanel Ombre Unique Creme in Arctic as a base and it lasted all day in a *hotness* of a restaurant kitchen where I work now. I think this is extremely good guad with basic colors and I am not regretting paying 40 euros for it. People often complain these are expensive and pans are small but I kinda like it that I can expect using them up and then I ll have excuse to get more =) I wish more brands packed their eye shadows in smaller portions b/c I tend to get bored of my makeup before I have even made a dip to an eye shadow. EDIT: The black shade in this quad is problematic. It is so sheer and hard to work with. If you try to shade with it youll probably end up with cheap looking mess. Thats why I decided to use it only to powder on top of my eye kohl. Chanel does not seem to make a decent black shade for their quads. This is just as difficult as black as in Euphoria quad.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Gris VIP (880)
laurus 6/8/2005 6:41:00 AM
My mom has this one and I am also wanting one after using hers. The purple here is similar to Chanel Tabou. There are the light pink and white for highlighting and black and perfect classy grey. I mainly use purple and black for lining and grey to shading. Next time when I need more greys I will get this one (or possibly earlier LOL). This quad has everything and it is perfect for cool green eyed girls b/c grey and purple make the eyes pop. I only dislike the packaging.

Eye Shadow -Iman - Iman Luxury Eyeshadow

I was sucked by the brown packaging. I find these eye shadows very similar to Jane eye shadows. They are not bad at all but not the best in the world either. I had problems with wintergreen as it did not seem to blend evenly.

Lipstick -Shiseido - The Makeup Lipstick in #4 Natural Beige
laurus 6/1/2005 4:59:00 AM
I love the color. I received a mini as an extra in a swap one time. I am a PPP and I think this is the perfect nude without too much pinkiness. But Shimmer? Where? I usually hate shimmer. On me it looks rather satiny and so smooth. I love that it has no scent.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Wet/Dry Shadow Duo in 'Seafoam'
laurus 5/29/2005 1:07:00 PM
Beautifull light summery cool green and medium blue. I did not buy this. I received this in a swap. I cant pair these colors with each others. I need some darker color to contour my eyes. I paired this succesfully with my Lancome Red Red Wine on the outer corner. It also works with dark browns. I really like this color. I havent liked many colors of the Revlon eye shadows but this is one of the stars.

Eye Shadow -Lancome - Color Focus Eye Shadow in Red red wine 218
laurus 5/27/2005 11:37:00 AM
I enjoy the see through lid in Lancome color focus eye shadow packaging. I found this shade of eye shadow rather disappoining. I wanted it to be more wine shade but on me it is too brownish and frustratingly sheer. I even use a base. I doubt I will buy this one again.

Eye Shadow -Isadora - Light & Shade Eye Shadow Duo
laurus 5/18/2005 1:10:00 PM
My all time first eye shadow combi was one of these. Now I recently bought another one and I am disappointed. These are sure sooo soft and silky but thats all. It is so powdery and even if you layer on a ton of it you cant get the color show any deeper. Colors dont look near as dark on the skin as they look in pan. I wiped almost every single one of them. Will never buy these. There are couple of trios and singles Iliked though.

Eye Shadow -Isadora - Perfect Eye Shadow in Autumn Green
laurus 5/18/2005 12:54:00 PM
Many of the Isadora singles are good quality and this is wonderfull in pigment unlike many of the duos. This is a shimmery bright warm leafy green with hint of olive. It stays on incredibly well and looks just wonderfull. this is definitely one shade you girls would love especially if you are in to greens. This is one of those shades that would surely create a big hype! EDIT: This is not an everyday shade of mine due to darkness. It gives you a smokey eye effect.

Eye Shadow -Isadora - Triple Eye Shadow-Golden Cacao [02]
laurus 5/18/2005 12:43:00 PM
Even though I knew the glitter in this trio would migrate I was very tempted to buy this and after bying "Patina" I went and bought few others including this. I was standing there really long time trying to choose colors. I was going to buy couple of quads but after dipping my finger in testers I was not happy with any of the duos and quads. This has much more different texture: it is grainyer but less powdery and more pigmented. Just like every single other make up line, this line also has its hits and misses. This one is a hit. Both browns show cool toned on me. There is not red or yellow undertones just a very dark chocolate browns. The darkest shade has glitter. They are very nicely pigmented and the gold is very gorgeous shade also having some glitter that too. I love this trio and I dont regret buying it opposite to how I regret buying one of the duos from this line. I would buy again.
