Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper
rated 5 of 5

I picked this up at Target in Bare To Be Bold, I had been looking for a lip balm that wasn't as boring as carmex or Chapstick, I had a horrible allergic reaction, to EOS, Baby Lips made my lips feel super dry,...but I love Color Whisper it is very moisturizing when I take my make up off my lips feel softer after using it. I am an NW25 right now and NW30, NW35 in the summer, I'm half Japanese with yellow tinted skin, green eyes and black hair I don't find the color showing up on me to be an issue at all and I bought the lightest color, I love nudes. I usually put it on top of my MAC Creme D' Nude if I start to feel a little dry and it gives a beautiful wash of color and shine and keeps any creasing of my lipstick or it getting matte on me. It does go quickly and $7.99 for a drugstore lip balm is pricey I've had it for a few weeks and am almost out and every Target in my area has been sold out. So I think people must like it I just wish I didn't run out super quick.

Liquid -Clinique - Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup
rated 5 of 5
laurelwatanabe 12/28/2012 3:03:00 PM

Ok, I'm kind of a foundation addict I have a new one every month but I think I might stick with this one a bit longer. I have been using the Smashbox BB cream and really like it but it wasn't offering enough coverage, I've had some breakouts and redness and dry patches due to the cold. I haven't found a Clinique product in the past I've liked so I asked for a sample it last a couple days and I really liked it, it offered a lot of coverage without looking cakey and even though it's matte it doesn't cling to my dry patches. It keeps the oil away and still has a little bit of dew to it. I like it a lot. I'm an NC25 and am using 04 Creamwhip. I am half Japanese and have a yellow base.

Hair -Unlisted Brand - MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL Deep Repair Mask
rated 5 of 5

I love this mask. I use the whole line, the shampoo, mask and oil drops. I have thick Japanese color treated hair, I blow dry and flat iron way too often but after I started using this my hair is super soft, incredibly shiny and it smells so nice. I shampoo which is ultra rich and creamy but still leaves my oily scalp clean, apply the mask put it in a shower cap and continue my hot shower rinse it out, add a few drops of the Macadamia oil and spritz with my Nexxus heat protexx and my hair is soft as can be no need to flat iron. I love it.

Styling Products -Nexxus - Heat Protexx

I blow dry and flat iron, I also curl on occasion. My hair is processed and is long, about waist length and I don't trim as much as I should so I know a product to protect my hair from heat damage is necessary for healthy hair. Other sprays I have tried have left my hair sticky, crunchy, frizzy or left my hair looking dull. I use the Pro Mend version and it leaves my hair incredibly soft, light and bouncy and smooth. After using for about 6-8 weeks I have noticed improved health in my hair. I love this product, the spray bottle is great, it has a wide spray that makes coating all of your hair easy. My only complaint is it is a little pricey and it takes a lot of product to coat my long hair properly so it ends up being pretty expensive. I wish I would have had the same results with the Aussie since the Aussie is much more affordable. THE best in heat protection and a must for someone who heat styles.

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
rated 4 of 5
laurelwatanabe 9/18/2012 8:19:00 PM

I like this American BB a lot, I'm half Japanese but the Asian BB's are too grey for me. This BB has a high SPF which I love, I have combination skin oily T zone and dry cheeks, it keeps my T zone matte and doesn't dry out my cheeks or cake up on them. Coverage is moderate, enough to cover my redness and purplish flat acne scars with one coat and doesn't end up looking heavy or unnatural like I think a lot of foundations end up looking. The price is high for the amount but a little goes a long way and it provides more coverage than the other BB's I've tried, Clinique, Too Faced, Garnier, Skin 79. I don't skip my moisturizer but I do skip primer, sun screen, concealer and foundation so a big time and money saver I'll purchase again. I'm a NW35 and wear light/medium for reference.

BB Cream -Too Faced - Tinted Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup
rated 3 of 5

I have been using the Smashbox BB which I love but you get so little for the price I had hoped this could take its place but no, they couldn't be more different. This BB would be perfect for someone with dry skin who just wants to even out their skin tone and have a really beautiful even glow. I have combination skin, oily T zone and dry cheeks with some acne scars and occasional breakouts, it provided a lot of moisture for my cheeks, but made my T zone more oily and didn't cover any of my acne scars, or redness until the third coat and at the point the Smashbox comes out less expensive because one application and everything is covered. PROS: Evens out skin tone. Moisturizes well. Leaves you dewy and luminous. Very Natural looking. Package is really cute :) CONS: Coverage is that of a TM, sheer to medium with build up. Increases oil if you're prone to oily skin. Low SPF Fairly expensive for a product that offers the benefits of a TM not a BB.

Fragrances -Oscar de la Renta - Live in Love

I am a perfume addict and this is currently my favorite. It smells so fresh and clean although not soapy and I can smell it all day with a few sprays. The bottle is so chic I keep it on top of my perfume curio. In my rotation is Marc Jacobs Daisy, Chanel mademoiselle, Gucci Flora Tuberose and Dolce Gabbana The One just for reference of what type of smells I prefer.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
rated 1 of 5
laurelwatanabe 9/10/2012 2:29:00 PM

I was expecting a hand cream that was better than average because of the price and the hype I'd heard but it left my hands very waxy, it sat on top of my skin, my hands feel drier after using it, I'm assuming because before I go to sleep I use the Bath and Body Works True Blue Body Balm 100% shea so skipping a few night and using L'Occitane my hands didn't get the moisture they are used too. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this overpriced super waxy hand cream,

Masks -Clinique - Acne Solutions Oil Control Cleansing Mask
rated 5 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/28/2012 12:58:00 AM

I really like this mask, I have super oily skin especially before my period, I use it once a week and it helps to keep my oil and shine under control and a little goes a long way and since Clinique is pretty affordable I recommend it if you're oily and break out prone. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh never tight or red.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 1 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/20/2012 5:05:00 PM

I am on a few strong acne medications that will dry me out, I tried this because Clinique is pretty affordable and my Mom uses it, broke me out. Feels heavy when you wear it you can feel that your pores can't breathe, mineral oil is not a good thing for my skin.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sketch eye shadow
rated 5 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/20/2012 5:00:00 PM

I just got this through a swap and love it, I use it for my crease and outer eye on my smokey eye, softer than using carbon and looks nice with my green eyes. It's a really nice plum I agree with the other reviewer great for fall, great for green eyes and works really nice for a not so heavy smokey eye.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 5 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/20/2012 4:56:00 PM

I've only tried a few eye shadow primers, I figured they did what they were supposed too, the kept my shadow from creasing and held my shadow on longer, then my friend made me a make up goodie bag for Christmas and this was in there. I started using it this summer and I didn't know what eye shadow primer was until this! I live in southern California, we've been in 110 degree heat and my smokey eye doesn't budge. I cleaned my house and was super hot so I jumped in my pool and swam a bit my mascara was gone and my face make up but my shadow a fairly heavy smokey eye was in place just slightly lighter, this stuff holds your shadow on like glue. It goes on silky smooth and leaves a nice base color, the eye shadow glides on smooth and it never creases on me. Love, love, love this primer.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Cremesheen Glass-Fashion Scoop
rated 2 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/14/2012 10:09:00 PM

Meh, I had hoped because the color looked so beautiful in the tube it would look the same one but no, even with a flesh toned lip primer it's basically a clear gloss with a tiny, tiny amount of pink. You could buy any $1 tube of lipgloss at the drug store and the blah color and this one is actually on the sticky side but not and since you can't really see it on, the texture makes it annoying.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga 2
rated 5 of 5
laurelwatanabe 8/10/2012 12:10:00 AM

I own probably 40 MAC lipsticks and I am a sucker for pinks and nudes although it's always been tricky finding a nude that worked for me, either too white, too brown, too orange....then I bought the Lady Gaga Viva Glam II with the lipglass and OMG perfection, love, love, love. I tried it on at MAC fell in love bought the set took it home and lined my lips with Oak and then my VS Pro lip primer, then the lipstick then the lipglass and it's amazing. It's the perfect nude, just gorgeous. I get compliments all the time, everyone asks what I'm wearing and where to get it. I can't say enough. Absolutely my favorite lipstick with Lady Gaga 1 coming in second. For reference I have very long black hair with bangs, NC42 in summer, C4 in the winter, I'm half Japanese, light green eyes. If you can make it to a CCO get it, you'll love it, the cute set with the Lady Gaga I and II in the little red cosmetic bag is such a good deal. Love it!
