Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby
rated 5 of 5

I am very fair, currently NW15 and this is a really perfect everyday natural looking neutral blush. It really warms up my face and gives me a pretty flush. Blushbaby is a neutral dusty pink color, not too tan and not too pink. It is a sheertone and there is no shimmer. Color payoff is good and buildable on my skin.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Freshwater (veluxe pearl)

I love this blue! I love neutrals on the lid and freshwater on the lower lashline as a pop of color, freshwater on the lid with a darker navy or black in the crease, or over a black to add a hint of color and sheen. The veluxe pearl finish is a really pretty sheen, not a chunky glitter, and it has a good bright color payoff.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash Waterproof

I really don't like this stuff very much. I gave it a 2 because I hate the way it applys, but the final product is ok. Just for reference, I've never been a fan of waterproof mascara because its a pain to take off. I dont like the brush, the rubber applicator end part is very flimsy and moves around on the wand as you apply it. Its VERY easy to apply too much of this and end up with a clumpy mess. You get a lot of product with just one swipe on your lashes. My lashes are very long and thick naturally, and just trying to get all my lashes coated with this once was making it all clumpy and gross, I had to bring out the lash comb, which I never have to do with my regular mascaras. The end result looks fine, but the process of applying it is much more.. strenuous and problematic than most mascaras. Basically I bought this because I needed a waterproof mascara for summer, and this was on sale. I wouldn't re purchase this or recommend this to anyone.

Blush -Estee Lauder - Blush AllDay- Desert
rated 5 of 5

My aunt recently sent this to me. The version I have I think was either a sample or came in a set.. It is in a blue plastic circular screw top container, a bit smaller than a MAC blush, and on the lid is a clear star through which you see the color of the blush. It is now knows as the Tender Blush in True Sand. It is the perfect neutral nude blush, almost a dirty rose color. Like a cross between a bronzer and a blush. Natural matte finish, nice blendability and buildability, and a wonderful soft texture. Does not get dusty in the pan. Shows up better on me when I'm pale, when I have a tan in the summer its not as good but it's still nice. I love using this because I usually play up my eyes and do a natural lip, and this is a really pretty natural cheek that goes with any eye makeup. This could work with any look though. Overall this is my favorite blush!

Eye Shadow -Cargo - Eye Shadow- Fiji
rated 5 of 5
laughing 5/24/2009 3:14:00 PM

I looovvee this eyeshadow. Fiji is a shimmery dark cocoa color with plum undertones. It looks gorgeous on my green-hazel eyes. Beautiful as a wash over the whole lid for day, and can also be smoked out and spiced up for night. It is just like MAC Satin Taupe eyeshadow, but in my opinion the texture is much softer and creamier, and the pigmentation is much better. If you look at the MAC website, the swatch of Satin Taupe is a very accurate representation. As an eyeshadow, it is quite big (the pan is 1.5 in in diameter, compared to MAC's 1 in), so it will last you a long time. I don't get any fading or creasing with it either. The only thing I don't like very much is the packaging, its in a little tin that can be a pain to open, especially when in a hurry. Overall, amazing, my favorite eyeshadow probably!

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
rated 4 of 5
laughing 5/3/2009 3:35:00 PM

I have the regular, original form of this product. There is also a tinted one that acts as a bit of a bronzer, an illuminating one with shimmer, and a hydrating one. This product is a translucent loose finishing powder, meant to set makeup and control oil. I think most people who say this is cakey are probably using too much. I only need to do the swirl tap buff thing once in the lid to cover my whole face. I use this with my Sephora bronzer / buffer brush after I put on concealer and a bit of MAC Studio Fix foundation (pressed powder). Sometimes I skip foundation and just use this with concealer, or just use this alone. It evens out my skin nicely and gives it an airbrushed look. It's a natural - matte finish. My skin is very oily, and it doesn't do much to control the oil, but then again, no product I have tried so far actually does a good job of controlling shine for long periods of time. I still have to blot with oil blot sheets or touch up with blot powder as often as I usually do. I like this more than other loose powders I have had though, the finish it gives me is really nice.

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head Manipulator
rated 3 of 5
laughing 4/11/2009 7:05:00 PM

For reference: I have medium/long, fine, naturally straight/very slight wave, normal thickness, layered hair. I am kind of neutral about this product. After all the rave reviews I've seen, and the fact that everyone seems to have it and love it, I decided to get it. I got it for $17.50, which is expensive for a hair product. But, a little goes a verrry long way with this, so it should last a very long time. The jar is kind of an awkward packaging, its messy when it gets on the lid. This will make your hair very greasy if you use too much. I only use like 1 - 2 pea sized amounts. It seems like it would work very well on short hair, the hold doesn't really work for longer hair unless hairspray is used with it. First time I used it, I rubbed between my fingers to emulsify it, and distributed it in my damp hair then blew dry. I honestly didnt notice anything different about my hair. When dry, I used a little on the ends of my hair and ends of the layers around my face, and that worked okay to texturize them a little. It works for volume with a little teasing, but needs hairspray to hold it well. Great for taming fly aways. I don't know, maybe it's just my hair (my hair doesn't hold a curl or do anything really..), but this product is nothing special for me. I gave up on using it on wet hair, so now I just take a pea, rub in my hands, and use that in my dry hair. Gives it a little volume and the messy just got out of bed look.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 5 of 5
laughing 2/3/2009 12:05:00 AM

I love this mascara. The huge brush is hard to get used to, I did poke myself in the eye the first few times. But once you've got the hang of it: beautiful. Gives me amazing volume and length in a deep black color. I love huge dramatic lashes, my lashes are naturally thick and long, and applying this by wiggling it at the root and sweeping up really makes an impact. Creates and holds a curl nicely. The plastic wand also combs through the lashes nicely and doesn't leave clumps. Doesn't irritate my sometimes sensitive eyes either. The orange tube is kinda big and obnoxious but oh well.

Polishes -Essie - Over the Top
rated 5 of 5
laughing 2/2/2009 11:59:00 PM

This is my favorite nail polish. I love the Essie bottle and brush. Over the Top is a very nearly almost black color. In fact it probably is black, but with the tiniest flecks of silver shimmer, which make it not your average flat black. The flecks aren't noticeable unless you look about 2 inches close, then you'll see them in some lighting. They just give it some dimension. Very glossy. I do 3 coats to get it perfectly opaque. Doesn't stain my nails at all (I don't use a basecoat). Lasts a good while without chipping.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Moisture
rated 3 of 5
laughing 2/2/2009 11:53:00 PM

I love the tube: chubby and a primary blue color. You take off the long blue cap and it looks like a gluestick haha. The product itself smells kind of like a lemon cake, and goes on like butter. Has a shiny finish. Feels moisturizing but doesn't last very long for me. And because it goes on so smoothly and butter-like, the tube is running out really fast on me.

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - Vanilla Lip Balm SPF20
rated 3 of 5
laughing 2/2/2009 11:49:00 PM

I like the actual balm of this. It is very silky and makes my lips feel soft and moisturized for a decent amount of time. I hate the tube, how it is so skinny. The skinny tube looks cute but isn't practical, it just makes it more difficult to apply it effectively and quickly. The smell in the tube and at first is a nice vanilla sweet smell that quickly turns minty and tingly on the lips. I wish it stayed vanilla though, to me the vanilla phase smells like cotton candy. Not glossy at all, lips just look moisturized. SPF20 is a plus. Runs out pretty quickly because of the small tube too.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Cariberry
rated 3 of 5
laughing 6/30/2008 4:03:00 PM

This looks like a pink lemonade bright pink with slight shimmer in the tube. It goes on pretty much clear with a tiny bit of shimmer. There might be the slightest pink tint... I rated it a 3 though because of the smell. It smells like a sour artificial fruit muffin... weird description I know haha but I really don't like the smell, it... uchh. Love the way it looks though for a natural summer gloss, so I'm a bit confused on whether I like it or not. I want to return it for Honey Do... but I got this for $1.75 so I may as well keep it right?

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Slice of Heaven
rated 5 of 5
laughing 6/30/2008 3:58:00 PM

This is one of my favorite VS glosses (: Its a nice nudey pink color. In the tube it looks kinda like a marbled effect with a baby pink-mauve and gold-champagne color because of all the shimmer. All the VS glosses are very sheer, and this one is nice for just a natural little nude look. Smells like cake or cake frosting and tastes nice too (:

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush-Spring Fling
rated 4 of 5
laughing 6/30/2008 3:54:00 PM

I got this and a couple others in the VS Beauty Rush sale - 5 for $20. This looks like a bright ice blue in the tube, but goes on clear with blue shimmer. These are veryyyy glossy, and barely sticky. Plus blue glosses are supposed to make teeth look whiter! It has a fruity/candy smell and a sugary taste. I love the beauty rush glosses because they are cheap, come in a lot of colors, and look really pretty on! Cute tube too.
