Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
lanae87 1/12/2009 1:07:00 PM
Hmmm...don't know if I'm sold on this or not. Claims that it hydrates better than creams costing $200-$700. I have been a faithful La Mer user for the past 2 years and was skeptical to try this. One thing I can say right away...it irritates the skin around my eyes a little. It goes away and doesn't leave a rash or anything, but it does sting for a few minutes. It does hydrate pretty well, and my skin feels soft all day. I've only been using this a week, so I'll have to come back and update once I've given it a solid test run. At this point, however, I'm guessing I will be going back to La Mer. My skin is too important to me to skimp on and I KNOW La Mer delivers the results.

Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Vanilla Oatmeal Baby Lotion
lanae87 12/24/2008 10:16:00 AM
This is a great drugstore find. Got a huge bottle for like $5. It smells so incredibly good that I find myself slathering it on for no real reason other than I am addicted to the scent. Not a heavyduty moisturizer, but does an admirable job of keeping my winter-ravaged skin soft and itch-free. Will definitely repurchase and will probably check out the matching bodywash as well.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Exact Eyelights
lanae87 11/17/2008 8:36:00 AM
This isn't a bad mascara, but it doesn't do what it advertises to do - bring out the color of your eyes. I have greenish-gold eyes, and bought Ruby Gold for green eyes and Black Gold for hazel eyes. Neither one of them enhance my eye color at all. Ruby Gold just looks like a soft black, and Black Gold appears "frosty" - not at all what I had hoped for. Again, it isn't a bad mascara in that it doesn't clump or smear, but does not enhance eye color in the slightest. For me ayway. I wouldn't recommend these, honestly.

Conditioner -Redken - Real Control
lanae87 11/17/2008 8:30:00 AM
I love everything about this new shampoo and conditioner from Redken. My hair is fine, dry, color-treated, and prone to frizz. The two in conjunction w/each other keep my hair soft, smooth and not weighed down at all (and my hair is easily weighed down being fine). I love the ingredients, especially the shea butter, which keep my hair moisturized and frizz-free. Love the smell too - like a fresh musky, soapy clean scent. Bought liters and will definitely repurchase.

Cleansers -Queen Helene - Queen Helene Whipped Cleansing Cream
lanae87 9/4/2008 8:41:00 AM
Awful. One of the Top 10 worst products I have ever used. I ditto the reviewer below me - it feels like you've slathered vaseline all over your face. It's impossible to get off your face or hands. I had to scrub with a loofa to get this off. I can only imagine the breakouts this would cause if I continued to use this product. So dreadful, it hit the trashcan after one use, and I can usually find another way to use something up. This has no usefulness in any capacity.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Mad minerals Indelible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Peacock
lanae87 7/1/2008 7:54:00 AM
After trying and loving Black Cherry, I knew I had to try Peacock. The color is so pretty! It's a vivid teal green. No shimmer or glitter. It brings out my green eyes, especially contrasted with a beige, nude or peach eyeshadow (I tried this with MAC Deckchair pigment today and it looks amazing). Be careful with these jars - I dropped my Black Cherry on the bathroom floor and cracked the lid, causing the e/l to dry out a bit. Oh well, and excuse to place another order, LOL!

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Liner - Black
lanae87 7/1/2008 7:48:00 AM
Wow - blackest eyeliner I have ever tried! Not a soft black, not a fading to gray black. Very nice when you want a more dramatic eye. I don't have the steadiest hands for liquid e/l application, so I prefer to use my own brush to apply this. Stays put all day and doesn't smudge. For $2, what do you have to lose by trying this? ; ) ETA: I have been using the brush that comes with this and it works better for me if I wipe off alot of the product. I can draw the best lines with this product. Going back to pick up a 2nd bottle of black and checking out the other colors too.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Smokey Look
lanae87 7/1/2008 7:42:00 AM
My first NYX lipgloss purchase. I chose this and Lollipop and think I have found my new favorite pink and peach lipglosses, respectively! Smokey Look is a light nude-y pink with subtle shimmer. The formula is outstanding - similar to MAC lipglass. Scent is kind of candy-ish - nothing offensive, and staying power is very good.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Midnight
lanae87 6/26/2008 1:14:00 PM
I love NYX shadows. They are highly pigmented with good lasting power. I like them just about as much as MAC. Midnight is no exception. In fact, it is such a gorgeous and unique color - shimmery black infused with green. I have never seen a color like it. Looks absolutely stunning on.

Lip Gloss -MAC - c-thru lipglass
lanae87 6/26/2008 1:10:00 PM
By itself, I don't like it. I have pigmented lips and pale skin - it looks like I smudged white frosting on my lips. However, over "too pink" lipsticks and glosses, this works brilliantly to tone them down. I'll definitely use this up and "might" buy again. Milani has a color almost identical to this (called Secret, I believe), but I hate the smell of Milani glosses. Like all MAC lipglasses, the texture and scent are excellent.

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl in Graphblack
lanae87 6/26/2008 1:07:00 PM
Meh. For MAC, I expect better! This smears and smudges and won't stay on the waterline. My $2 Rimmel Exaggerate liner is way better than this. Next time I'll try Fluidlines.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Beauty Marked
lanae87 6/26/2008 1:04:00 PM
I wish I had discovered this sooner! A gorgeous blackened-plum w/shimmer. Looks great wet as a liner, and dry or wet when I'm doing a smokey eye. Will definitely repurchase.

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - Acapulco Glow
lanae87 5/22/2008 12:17:00 PM
I really don't think this should be labeled as a bronzer. I have been using this everyday as a highlighter for about a week now. You get a decent amount of product (as well a little mirror built into the compact and a small brush which I don't use). I brush a little of this on my browbones, cheekbones, on my nose, chin and forehead and it just adds the perfect "glow" with no shimmer. I would pay alot more for this product if it was high end - thankfully I don't have to, LOL.

Mascara -Rimmel - Lycra Lash Extender
lanae87 4/7/2008 1:46:00 PM
I am not sure why I bought this. Maybe b/c with lipglosses and mascaras, I have to try EVERY single one on the planet. : P But seriously, I kinda picked this out on a whim and I love it. The brush doesn't look like anything unique, but it does a great job of grabbing the lashes and separating them out. It doesn't really volumize lashes, but really lengthens and separates nicely. The formula doesn't flake or smudge easily. I would absolutely buy this one again.
