Toners -Unlisted Brand - melvita - witch hazel floral water

Really economical. The best witch hazel on the market. I really liked Primavera's witch hazel, but I don't think it's available in the US anymore. But this Melvita Witch Hazel floral water is the best value ever. A very large bottle for less than $30. Pure quality. One bottle has lasted me throughout the summer (I misted it on after washing my face, day and night) and into the fall (I usually just use it after showering to close my pores). Witch hazel is great for your skin and a mild antiseptic. This will not dry your skin or make it feel parched. It can be useful to help close your pores, though. very highly recommended!

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Melvita Rose Extraordinary Water

The only thing I don't like about this product is that I had to buy it from the Melvita website, which did not offer me free shipping. But the product itself is divine! It is more like a serum, to be used after cleansing and under moisturizer. I bought it at the onset of fall and am very pleased with the results after a couple of months. It helps to hydrate my skin, smells fantastic (obviously you must like rose), and absorbs quickly. It layers very well under the Jurlique Soothing Day Care Lotion that I have been using. I highly recommend the pair to anyone looking for a soothing, moisturizing treatment.

Lip Treatments -Korres - Lip Butter - Wild Rose

The packaging is ok and I was drawn to the idea of this product. However, the tint is far too pale to justify using. I have olive skin, sort of mid way between pale and dark. I wanted a nice tint, a sheer flush of color, that I could apply whenever or wherever to brighten up my face. Especially in the day time. But, it wasn't to be. If this color did almost nothing for me, it will certainly not work for people who are darker than me.

Eye Makeup Remover -Boots - Organic Face Nourishing Eye Make up Remover
rated 5 of 5
lalelilolu 11/26/2012 4:32:00 PM

This is really a fabulous product for removing mascara and eye make up. I love that the ingredients are simple (mostly olive oil). I recommend this for anyone who wants something inexpensive, pure, and quick. I've tried a lot of different things over the years --- Shu Uemura cleansing oil, Clarins, Klorane, Lancome, Natura Bisse, Tatcha. This one works just as well if not better than all of those. And it only costs $6.99. I usually apply some to dry skin, rub it really well around my eyes and especially my lashes, rinse it off (it rinses off very cleanly), and then follow with my mild cleanser (I use Aesop). I find rinse-off makeup removers much easier to use, as manipulating cotton pads around the crevices of my eyes seems to be an ineffective way to get off all of my mascara at once (I don't even cake it on like some people do). Highly recommended!

Lipstick -Ellis Faas - Lip Cream L101
rated 5 of 5

Wow, what can I say. I think the other reviewers described the product well and I am inclined to agree. I have warm, olive-toned skin and black hair. I don't usually find that reds look good on me despite being told that "red looks good on everybody." When I was younger I would wear red lipgloss, which suited me well. And the only other red I wear these days is T Le Clerc's Taffetas, which is more of a brick red. But I was curious about this color - the neat and tidy application appealed to me, and I liked that you can control how much pigment you put on. I wanted more of a stain - I am definitely more of a stain type girl. So I applied it lightly straight from the sponge tip (after putting on lip balm and a neutral lip liner), concentrating the color more on my bottom lip and closer to the opening of my mouth. Wow! The color really is pigmented but not too opaque. It brightens up my complexion. And I like the slim pen design - I know that I can put this in my purse and the top won't come off, leaving my lipstick exposed to the elements. I also know that I can easily re-apply this in a public restroom and still get the same effect. This is going to be a killer color for the winter. **Edited to add: I also got the Creamy Lips in L102 - the deep berry color. Again, the color really suited my skin tone and looks awesome as a stain. I highly recommend these products.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Drying Lotion
rated 5 of 5

Devotee for life! I am probably on my 4th bottle of this stuff. Insane how quickly it works. On days that I am hope for the afternoon, I'll dot my blemishes for a more intensive treatment. Really shrinks your blemishes quickly. If you have cystic acne, you should probably see a dermatologist. If you just get a few breakouts here and there, this is a great product for that! I love to use it pre-emptively, scanning my face for any red areas or slightly raised areas at night and then dabbing a bit of product on. If you catch a blemish in its very early stages, this product will keep it from ever rising.

Treatments -Juice Beauty - Blemish Clearing Serum
rated 5 of 5
lalelilolu 3/14/2012 10:05:00 AM

Wonderful product! I was shopping around for an organic, mild serum that had alpha hydroxy acids or some kind of acids for gentle exfoliation and spot lightening on my face. I have some older blemish marks that take a long time to fade because I have olive skin. Spring seems like a nice time to brighten one's complexion, but I didn't want to deviate from my requirements of gentle, preferably organic products. So I found this one and bought it with the intent to use it to lighten my spots and perhaps brighten my complexion. And it works wonderfully for that! The first two days, I used it morning and night to jumpstart the product's effects, and since then I just use it at night after cleansing. I don't love layering this product under moisturizer, I prefer to let a thin layer of the serum dry on my face and then go to bed like that (probably not the best choice for dry winter air, then, but great for spring). My spots are really so much lighter already. Not disappeared, but much less noticeable and I'm happy with the results. I have still had a couple of tiny blemishes, but I'm not bothered by that. This product is a much better spot lightener and pore refiner than anything else. If you are looking for a great pimple treatment, try the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Melvita Shea Butters
rated 5 of 5
lalelilolu 3/14/2012 10:01:00 AM

This review is for the Melvita Soft Shea with Orange Essence. It is a soft, spreadable shea butter that is so rich and creamy. I massage it all over my feet after a shower and then put on socks. My feet look so good and are so soft! I know it's tough to wear socks in the summer, but when the warm weather rolls around this treatment will make my feet look amazing in sandles. I tried the product in my hair and was less excited about the results. It is a fantastic product for skin, though. Probably wonderful on dry patches like elbows, knees, ankles. And the best foot cream ever!

Sunscreen -Pratima - Neem Rose Sunscreen
rated 5 of 5

Lovely zinc-based SPF for the face. I used this throughout the fall and winter - it is drying and requires something underneath, either a serum or an oil (I used a few drops of Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil before applying this SPF). Goes on quite clear, which is great if you are used to natural sunscreens that leave you looking rather ghastly. Wonderful product!

Lovely! I bought this as my winter blush, and the color is so pretty for my olive skin and dark hair. After cleansing and moisturizing, I rub a little bit of this on each cheek and occasionally dab a little on my lips. I think it gives a very sexy, dewy glow to my face. Very pleased.

Mascara -Ellis Faas - Mascara (E401, Black)

Really like this mascara. I bought it on the strength of another reviewer's comments. Like her, I really like YSL & Giorgio Armani mascaras too. I love trying new things and just wanted to mix it up. I like the silver packaging and the elegant longer wand. The product works well and does not clump, although I have only had it for a couple of weeks. No smudging.

Primer/ Corrector -Giorgio Armani - Master Corrector

I have the orange one for covering up redness from rosacea and the occasional blemish spot. Incredibly easy to use, flawless finish, blends in miraculously well. This is on par with the ease and finish of YSL's Touch Eclat, which is for the undereyes. Highly recommended!

Cleansers -Clarins - Gentle Foaming Cleanser for Dry or Sensitive Skin
rated 4 of 5
lalelilolu 4/8/2010 12:47:00 PM

This is a marvelous cleanser, but with one caveat - it's simply not suitable for dry skin. If anything, it is an ideal summer cleanser. I actually purchased this for spring/summer use. In drier, colder seasons, I would rather use something uber gentle, like either of John Masters Organics facial cleansers. However, after trying this cleanser at my sister's house, I fell in love with the sumptuous, luxurious texture of the foam. And the scent is so elegant and inviting. And my face - it feels very clean, stripped of all oil and grease, a bit parched afterwards but not in a way that I mind when it's hot and humid out. So, I highly recommend this cleanser, but I suspect it may be better for warmer weather and humid climates on account of its tendency to be a little drying. It's fun to use and has an exquisite scent.

Moisturizers -Caudalie - Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Cream SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
lalelilolu 4/8/2010 12:41:00 PM

SPF of my dreams... No, really! After dilly-dallying in physical sunblocks, I had to make the switch to a chemical-based one. The physical SPFs always left a white cast on my skin, and I simply grew tired of it. Now that I am using this, I can't imagine reverting back. In the past, I have tried: - Cetaphil SPF 15 - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 - Jurlique Purely Age Defying Day Cream with SPF 15 - Dove spf 15 for the face And probably some other ones. Caudalie's is my favorite on account of its sublime texture, fresh but mild herbal scent, and clean finish. My skin glows with this, it isn't greasy, and I get enough SPF coverage for my regular daily activities. No breakouts or irritations. Highly recommended. The only chemical SPF I've ever found that has a pleasing scent! The price may be off-putting to some, but I was able to get it for 20% off and free shipping from the Caudalie website.

Deodorants -Weleda - Wild Rose Deodorant
rated 5 of 5
lalelilolu 3/27/2010 8:47:00 PM

I have been using this deodorant for several years and will probably continue to do so. In the past, I have also used: - Dr. Hauschka floral deodorant - Kiehls anti-persperant/deodorant - Tom's of Maine deodorant (lavender) - Clarins deodorant - Erbaviva deodorant This is my favorite because it works well and has a very pleasant floral fragrance. I find that the scent combines well with other products that I use and with my various perfumes. I also really like Dr. Hauschka deodorant and will occasionally alternate, but this one is half the price. As far as rose fragrances go, Weleda's is superior to most. I very rarely have to apply this deodorant a second time. Obviously, this is not recommended for people who dislike classic feminine scents.
