Eyeliner -Tarte - EmphasEYES Aqua-Gel Eyeliner
lailay 9/11/2011 6:05:00 PM
Alright I'm not going to lie when I first tried this I absolutely hated it! I don't stick to one place in terms of eyeliner, sometimes I like to put it on my upper lid, sometimes in my water line or smudged in my lower lash line. My cousin had put it on my upper lids and I loved it so I bought it. I tried it on my waterline and it started getting in my eye and started burning. So I decided to do a little research. Tarte describes this product as liquid liner in a pencil form. I thought about that for a while and remembered that the same this happened to me the first time I put liquid liner in my water line, until I perfected my technique which is the following: when you apply the liner slightly tug your lower lid away from your eyeball, apply the liner and wait a few seconds. Once it dries your all set your eyes wont start burning. I've been doing this and its been the longest lasting eyeliner I've had. It lasts on my water line really long and eve if it does fade from there its still sitting at the base of my lashes so it doesn't look like its gone anywhere. Add that I get no smudging this may be my best eyeliner yet!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
lailay 2/10/2011 10:51:00 PM
Oily Eyelids beware! Paint pots will probably crease on you :( I had gotten this because I had run out of UDPP. The first time I tried it alone and it creased by the time I got to work. The second time I put a face primer on my lids put a thin layer of my foundation (which is for oily skin) set it with powder, put painterly on my lids then set it. Then applied my eyeshadow. Guess what? it still creased by the time I got to work. I returned it today the MA suggested that I try the bare canvas paint because its more matte, we'll see how that goes. Also I wasn't a fan of the paint pot packaging, I guess you could technically use a brush but I prefer to use my finger to apply bases/primers.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Her Blooming Cheek (A Tartan Tale Holiday '10)
lailay 1/5/2011 10:48:00 PM
This is an amazing blush! its limited edition from the tartan tale collection, which makes me sad, although I think it will last me a looooooong time. I was a little hesitant about getting this blush because although I have light skin I have warm undertones and this is advertised as being a blue-pink which should not be flattering plus it looked Fushia in the pan. However after reading the reviews here and having purchased a fan brush I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad, I did because I love how it looks! I need a very light hand but the pink turns out beautifully giving me a healthy rosy glow. I also love that it has a satin finish, meaning theres no glitter in it which is a plus for me because I have rather large pores. I would definitely recommend this to others and I feel with proper application it can suit a wide range of skintones. If you weren't able to get it this time around I wouldn't fret because sure enough some will probably end up at the cosmetic comany outlets, on ebay or even up for swapping:)

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
lailay 1/5/2011 10:30:00 PM
I think when I first bought this product I wasn't too happy with it but with time I've come to like it. I think the initial problem I had was that I was expecting miracles from under eye concealer but that wasn't realistic. I tried the bobbi brown corrector and undereye concelear and decided that even though it gave perhaps better coverage than the erase paste it looked SO FAKE. I think thats when I really appreciated my erase paste, which I have in medium, it doesn't a decent job of covering up, it doesn't exacerbated the little lines under my eyes and most importantly it looks natural :) The key is to use a tiny amount, and then I also set with Benefit's powderflage. Its described as a brightener and I do agree that it does conceal and brighten at the same time.

Mascara -Smashbox - Lash DNA
lailay 1/5/2011 10:23:00 PM
I got this mascara in a smashbox kit. I was a little skeptical with the "DNA Helix" looking wand (it doesn't look like one to me lol). However I gave it a shot. I ended up really liking the mascara. I have naturally long, straight lashes but they aren't very thick. This did an awesome job of thickening them. You have to apply it correctly though. For me I do one coat using the brush horizontally then use it vertically(this helps you catch every little hair), then I use a metal eyelash comb to take out clumps. I only do one coat because I find that if I do two my lashes stick together. The only negative, besides the cost, is I feel like its very hard to wash off, even after using wipes and eye makeup remover.

Skincare - Face -Derma E - Tea Tree and E Oil
lailay 12/5/2010 1:03:00 PM
So to be fair I did only purchase this item yesterday however so far I'm extremely happy with the results! Im 23 and through my teen years would only get the occasional pimple, all of the sudden I've broken out in a million!(ok exagerration) but way more than normal. For some reason my usually salicylic acid or BP treatments weren't cutting it. I saw reviews on MUA about tea tree oil and thought I would give it a shot. Everyone said that you had to use it diluted so when I saw this with E oil I was like ok I'll get this since its already slightly diluted less hassle. I've been using it as a spot treatment and its working pretty well! Three pimples I had are already smaller and dried up and two that are just lingering below the surface have reduced significantly as well. I use a wet Qtip and dip it in the bottle(no double dipping though!) and dab/massage into the area. One thing I noticed is that even with the E oil it is very drying for my skin but as long as I moisturize well I'm good to go! So if you are sick of the usual over the counter crap, try this stuff :)

Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride
lailay 12/4/2010 11:07:00 PM
This is Hands down my favorite piece of makeup that I own, definitely HG material. My cheeks are naturally pink, so I could never really wear blush, because everyone would recommend more peachy brown colors which made me feel like I should just wear bronzer. Then I found this beautiful cheek stain and it changed my life. Its more of a plummy color and did not exacerbate the red I already had in my cheeks but instead made me look like I was glowing from within. I also love that it isn't sparkly which a lot of blushes are. So if you want a really natural looking blush/cheek stain. I would run out and grab this. I know some people complain that its sticky but I noticed that it goes away especially when I set with loose powder. Also its smells awesome and will probably last forever.

Loose Powders -L'Oreal - Translucide
lailay 12/4/2010 11:01:00 PM
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS This is one of the few things that never breaks me out, so that could be enough reason to love it. However, it also looks great on. I have it in translucent, and it is somewhere between matte and not shimmery but it makes your skin look natural, not super matte but not a disco ball either. The only downside is using it under my eyes for concealer because it ends up looking wrinkly( I use benefits powderflage for that purpose). Will definitely repurchase, that is, if it ever finishes.

Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind foundation
lailay 12/4/2010 10:55:00 PM
This product did not work for me! I don't really know what I was thinking seeing that I'm 23 and do not really need "Age Rewind" makeup yet. I got this is Classic Ivory, the color matched well however I had two issues with this. 1) IT BROKE ME OUT HORRIBLY 2) It was a little cakey looking on my skin. On the other hand my boss uses this foundation(she is closer to 40) and it looks absolutely amazing on her and doesn't cause her to break out. So if you are young and break out prone avoid this but if you have older skin give this a shot it might work.

Bronzers -Laura Geller - Bronze-N-Brighten
lailay 12/4/2010 10:51:00 PM
I really love this bronzer. I feel like its one of the few bronzers I have tried that doesn't make me look orange or fake-baked. I love the look its not too sparkly or too matte, its just right. Also it has never broken me out which is a huge plus, since it seems like a lot of products do. My sister loves this as well, she was using mine so much that I ended up buying her one so she would leave mine alone lol.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
lailay 11/26/2009 7:37:00 PM
I think this is the worst mascara I have ever used. First the smell is just disgusting. Then when I put it on, my lashes clumped into like four pieces. I tried separating them with an eyelash comb, but that did very little. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
