Polishes -OPI - Rumples Wiggin

mmm so pretty and girly! i'm wearing it right now and yes, i am aware that this is not a fall colour. but i just saw the bottle and i picked it up and i was thinking how pretty it was... and one thing led to another.. and BAM. i'm wearing it now. it very much reminds me of easter. of painting easter eggs this lovely pale pastel purple colour. it's kinda annoying to work with tho.. i recommend to do one thin coat, and then a thicker second one. but it's worth it in the end, a lovely spring colour! ... or fall, in my case -_- haha! i will attach my picture, yes? yes =)

Polishes -China Glaze - Sea Spray

when william shakespeare wrote "what's in a name?" i don't think he thought it all the way through. somehow, for me at least, these nailpolishes become even more divine when they have these alluring names attached to them. or.. i guess "sea spray" isn't all that alluring, is it? haha anyways! this colour is wonderful. it has a dusky, stormy quality to it, which i love. it is 100% opaque in 2 coats, and it's not TOO thick or gloopy. meaning, i'm not too adept with manicures, but i managed to make do. so, i assume that others will manage as well =) a picture is worth a thousand words! so i shall attach one of my own =)

Polishes -OPI - Mermaid's Tears
lady_baby_doll 6/4/2011 5:23:00 PM
I love this colour! I basically bought it because of two reasons. One was because I was sort of on a green polish kick, and two was because of the beautiful name. The name basically sold it to me, it adds an ethereal quality to this polish. With that being said this polish also applies like a dream, I applied either two or three coats. First one is kinda streaky, and then the second one is better. I find the best thing is to apply a thin coat and then apply a thicker coat. I never use any base or top coats either, I'm just... I dunno. Lazy? Don't wanna spend money on a clear polish? Haha, I usually change up my polish every 3 or 4 days so I don't need anything long lasting, but this polish did last for 4 days without any chips or tip wear. Also the colour is a smokey, muted green. Like a stormy ocean? Haha I don't wanna get too poetic but it's very pretty and it's different. Anyway I'm rambling, I'll just add a picture. It's not so clear but it's the best I could do.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Miracle
lady_baby_doll 5/29/2011 3:53:00 PM
I had high hopes for this foundation, I thought it would give me the glowy skin that I always sought after in my foundations. Maybe it was because I had such high hopes for it that I feel VERY let down and highly dislike it. This is definitely not for those who have sensitive skin or rosacea, because alcohol is really high in the ingredient list. Maybe for oily skins it would work, but people shouldn't really be putting alcohol on their faces anyway. Think of it like this, when you go out for a night of drinks, your skin suffers and gets dehydrated and then for a couple days afterwards it looks sallow and dull, and it takes a while for it to look its best again. Now.. take that alcohol and apply it to your face everyday and think of the damage that it is doing to it. And I used to LOVE alcohol in my formulations, I was an avid user of clinique's toner, the #2 clarifying toner. I loved it once but no more, because I think that specific product gave me rosacea. To be honest I don't know if rosacea is something that one inherits or it's something you can pick up with bad skincare, but I truly believe that my rosacea occurred because of all of the alcohol I used on my face. Anyway, I'm rambling, I recommend that people don't use this foundation. Your skin will suffer in the long run. If you have skin that is tough, not sensitive, and not prone to redness and is a bit oily, you will love this foundation for sure. But just know it's wreaking havoc on your skin, and you will see those signs manifest in the future. The search continues for me, for my perfect foundation.

Polishes -China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

omg this is such a beautiful shade of red, i can't NOT admire my own nails when wearing this. it has a jelly textured base, just think of dark red jello, and then ALL these glitter particles added. it comes alive with a life of its own, and whenever i wear it i feel sexy, sulty, and a bit brazen? maybe i took it too far, but it's gorgeous and doesn't budge until you wanna take it off. one of my favourite shades<3 i added a picture!!

Polishes -OPI - Sephora by OPI - Already Famous
lady_baby_doll 5/19/2011 11:03:00 PM
this is a very pretty polish, and may have been the one which started my nail polish obsession. haha. anyway it is very pretty silvery- copper colour and it shimmers and glitters under all sorts of different lights. sometimes it looks blue, sometimes it looks copperish, but it always looks gorgeous, and many people compliment the colour. it does need to be layered tho, i usually do around 3. which doesn't bother me at all, seeing as how pretty it turns out. the wear is very good too, i uploaded a picture where i've been wearing it all week, and i wash dishes and cook a lot, and it barely shows. i don't even use a topcoat!! haha anyway, i highly recommend this colour to all people who love glimmery nails, and who like colours which look a bit antique, if you know what i mean. hehe!

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #2
lady_baby_doll 8/7/2008 7:23:00 PM
I dunno why more people don't like this, I really like it. I have combo skin, and my t zone breaks out a LOT. It's pretty bad, especially in the summer. Ugh. Anyways, this stuff manages to keep that at bay. And it feels good when I put it on. I'm basically repeating what everyone's saying, but if you have delicate skin...just don't use this toner at all. Or ANY toner. Maybe the mild toner? I dunno...this isn't for delicate skin. Mine can take it, and yes it is supposed to tingle a SLIGHT bit, but not..burn. LOL Anyway, if you have sensitive, delicate skin. Avoid this. If you don't and ur skin's more oily and tougher kinda...this'll be your new love. =) Edited: The alcohol content in this is highly damaging to skins natural layers and barriers. This is a very bad toner, it is the worst thing I have put on my face. I used it through highschool and loved it, only because I didn't know any better. Now I have super sensitive skin and I have rosacea, it's not pleasant. I'm bumping this waaay down, and I hope people don't make the same mistake I did. Especially if you're young, for the love of God do not use this product! Their mild toner is a wonderful thing tho! It has salicylic acid in it, so it will mildly exfoliate and it's slightly hydrating too. I'm only 23, but it sucks to have rosacea. It sucks to need full coverage foundation, when you don't even have acne, you just have to cover the redness in your cheeks. *sighs* But I know if you kids read this you won't listen, I certainly didn't when I was a teen. Avoid all the clinique toners, except the mild toner which I now love. And please do your research, don't ruin your skin. Good luck guys!! <3

Cleansers -Clinique - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm
lady_baby_doll 8/7/2008 7:20:00 PM
Another HG from clinique!! I find this stuff amazing. Takes off every last trace of face makeup, even when i wear EL's Double Wear or MUFE's mat velvet + matifying foundation. And those are notoriously hard to get off. But not for this baby!! And it's so gentle, comes right out as wax, and then as soon as i start rubbing it into my skin turns into this emollient soft kind of paste thing? Kind of lighter than a paste. Anyway, it's amazing. And I don't think this can break you out, because I have combo reactive skin, and this stuff is just very soothing, and also removes every last bit of makeup so i have less acne when i use it. =) You don't even need that much, just like a dab on each cheek, and on the forehead. I use my nail to scoop it out in a backwards motion so it comes out on top of my nail. Hahahah. Aaaaaand... *thinks* oh yeah, you can't just use this and then wash it off with water and thats it. You have to follow up with some cleanser, whatever it is. My night routine is this, take the day off for eyes, then some kinda facial soap, toner, moisturizer, and thats it. =) I love it, and it is kinda expensive but considering you need one every like..7 or 8 months, and i use it DAILY, it's not bad at all. =) I haven't been able to find drugstore stuff that's comparable to this so ...i can't say anything about that. Hahah. But i highly recommend this, without any doubt. =) Hope it works as well for everyone out there! <3

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Take The Day Off Eye Makeup Remover
lady_baby_doll 8/7/2008 7:09:00 PM
This is my HG when it comes to eye makeup removal. And i do need it hardcore cuz..i wouldn't say i wear a lot of eye makeup, but what i do wear is as waterproof as it can get. I'm talking shiseido mascara base and then shiseido lasting lift mascara and then waterproof gel eyeliner, and waterproof eye pencil. You get it. Hahah. The reason i do this is cuz i wear contacts, and i tend to tear up easily, whether i'm laughing too hard or i'm crying..or whatever. I've learned that I need waterproof eye makeup in my life. And this stuff takes off everylast trace of it without irritating my eyes or ripping out all of my precious eyelashes. I just give it a shake, dip in a q tip and then apply it directly to my eyelashes and sorrounding area, and then wipe off with a cotton ball. =) Never fails. And yes, it is greasy...but I don't think that should be a problem. You are gonna wash your face afterwards with a cleanser anyway, AND better oilyness around your eyes than dryness right? Dryness = early wrinkles!! LOL =p So anyway, i have tried some department store brands. And if you guys want a comparable one, but at a cheaper price then the next best thing is...Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. I dunno why they say it's oil free, cuz you can clearly see the oil floating around inside much like cliniques, but..whatever. Hahah. This one does sting the eyes, but only slightly so its very bearable. Not much difference other than that, I always go for this one if i'm low on cash. Hehe. Hope that helps!! <3

Skincare - Body -Sally Hansen - Airbrush Legs in Light Glow
lady_baby_doll 7/14/2008 2:02:00 PM
soo i tried this product out because, even when i do a super close shave you can kinda see black dots under the skin where the hair was, and sometimes waxing isn't an option. and call me vain, but that bothers the HELL out of me, thinking that other people can see that. and i was blessed with that, pale skin and thick dark hair that most eastern euro's are born with. lucky us.. *rolls eyes* anyways, i got this with the idea that it was kinda like foundation but for your legs? and it is kinda like that, but then..it's really dry looking. it really does look like pantyhose. haha. if that's the look you're going for then this would be perfect for you, it's why i gave it a 4. it didn't work for me because my personal preference for legs is the supple, glowing, moisturized skin look. OH, and if your legs are gonna be photographed... i.e. you're wearing shorts or a skirt to a party or the club or whatever, you might wanna try going without this, cuz uhhh....in pictures with the flash it REALLY looks like you have pantyhose on. hahah! again, unless thats the look you're going for. SO bottom line, it's does make legs more even and smooth, and covers any scars or marks you have, and it did hide the little dots i was worried about, but it just wasn't the product for me. =) hope that helps someone out there. =)

Scrubs -Clinique - Exfoliating Scrub
lady_baby_doll 5/27/2008 11:55:00 PM
So, I have to admit, I love exfoliating, and I am kinda guilty of over-doing it. But I can't get over the feeling of super smooth skin the morning after (cuz i always exfoliate in the pm) and how smoothly my makeup glides on, and how even and glowy my skin looks. I have to say, that this is a staple for me in getting that celebrity modelesque, smooth glasslike skin. My skin type is combo, and my skin isn't too sensitive, so I do use this every other day, and I have to admit, I'm not too gentle. Which I will change, because I heard that's really bad for your skin and it'll show up when you're older and blah blah. If you have really dry skin, then for sure this isn't for you, and clinique reps, and even the website says that. But if you have oily, or even moderately oily skin, then you will benefit by this product for sure. I have acne prone skin too, and this scrub actually keeps them away. This is a staple in the summertime, otherwise my face would look .... not pretty. But when is acne ever pretty. I use a pretty generous amount, maybe the size of a quarter, and then I smooth it over my face, and I rub it in circular motions for a minute or two, and then I just let it sit there for another minute or two, and then I wash it off, tone, moisturize pretty heavily, and done. =) It is kind of expensive, it costs me like...28 bucks or something? But, I have tried others, and I just...they just didn't do it for me. Biore, St Ives, etc etc. I didn't really like them, they didn't seem to help with breakouts, and my skin didn't feel as smooth afterwards. SO...I think that's all I can say about it. Oily girls for sure give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. Combo girls too. Dry skinned girls....this may hurt you a bit, and aggravate your skin. The 7 day scrub might be better for you. =) I hope that helps someone. =)

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
lady_baby_doll 5/5/2008 5:25:00 PM
My fave fave fave cream liner. I've triiied cliqniues, which was a little too .... creamy i guess? It just smudged, basically. And putting it on the waterline didn't quite work out. And then i also tried those smudgepot things, from Stila? And those were too dry, and i didn't really..like the texture of them. But with THIS wonderful, lovely, beautiful, deep dark smoldering eyeliner...i'm in heaven. I'm one of those....dark eyes nude lips on an everyday basis kinda girl. =) I have like super dark hair, and really dark eyes, and pale skin so i can kinda pull it off without looking like i'm overly made up, and i use this everyDAY! Hehe... now with this, I have to admit, my eyes are kinda mismatched. LIke they're different shapes, and i know they say everyone's are kinda like that, but mine are actually noticeable, so i have to draw my eyeliner on each eye differently, to make them look more symmetrical. I don't know what it is about this eyeliner, but it makes it SO easy and SO quick. And it's really great for the waterline too, I use MAC's brush, the 266 i think? It's amazing. I always line the waterline too, cuz i think the look of defined eyes is really pretty, and draws all the focus on your eyes. There's a lot of product too, in the little pot, so it's not a waste of money or anything. And it's not super expensive, like 18 bucks? And it lasts for a really long time, i've had mine for like 4 months? And i have a lot left, and it hasn't dried out or anything so.. yay =) SO if you're looking for a dark eyeliner that won't budge, for a perfectly defined eye, or a smokey eye, or a cat eye look...any look, this eyeliner is perfect. I love it. =)

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
lady_baby_doll 5/5/2008 2:35:00 PM
So, this has got to be my favourite foundation ever, and I have a LOT!! The reason being, I look at too many pictures of models, with their glowing "flawless" (read-photoshopped) skin, and I get envious and want to look like them too. *rolls eyes* Dare to dream. Haha=p With that being said, this foundation actually gets me pretty close to having really really nice, even, satin finished skin. And the best part is, it ACTUALLY looks like skin! Even if you layer for more coverage, it still looks like skin. So let's get down to it. Bio of me: I am combination, with slightly acne prone skin in the summer, and I do have some slight acne scars in my forehead, cuz that's just where i ususally break out the most. Damn it. =) This foundation, has never broken me out. It HAS however, made me look kinda oily after a few hours ( let's say 4 or 5) but I just use a super light dusting of pressed powder when that happens, so it's not a biggie at all. It doesn't wear off, or fade off. Mind you, I have never gone swimming with this or anything, but I have worn it out for a night of heavy clubbing/intense face rubbing makeout/snuggle sessions, and it STILL stayed on. Now I will say, this isn't my fave foundation for those times, cuz of the oiliness, but the few times I have worn it, nothing disasterous happened. AND and...i have fallen asleep with this. =( i know..i know. But there are some night's when you're so tired, you can barely make it to the bed, let alone remove your contacts, eyemakeup, foundation, tone, moisturize...not happening. SO YES, i have fallen asleep with a full face+ contacts, and slept for a good 8 hours, woke up with dry gunk filled eyes (sorry for the tmi) and didn't have a single break out at ALL! Yay! =) The price isn't too bad, i paid like $38 canadian dollars for it and the bottle is pretty big anyway, right? And i know everyone complains about the bottle, but...*shrugs* i guess just be careful, because of the texture of it, I don't think that it's gonna be possible for a pump or anything. Personally, I just think it's perfection as it is. Now I do stray, whenever I see maybe a matte look that looks really good, i'll start using my more matte thicker coverage foundations, but I always always always come back to this. I think MakeUpForever is an amazing amazing brand, and ... yah. Sorry for the gushing. Hehe. SO if you're anything like me, combination skin, acne prone, some slight acne scars to hide, you should really really give this a shot. I'm like 99% sure you won't be disappointed. =) Just make sure you have some pressed powder, or blotting sheets, but I don't think that's anything new if you're an oily girl. Hehe. =)

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Lasting Lift Mascara
lady_baby_doll 10/11/2007 1:00:00 AM
OHH my Lord. This mascara is my FAVOURITE ever! If this mascara was a man...i would SO marry it. I don't even care. Let me just list the reasons why i love it. 1.) It holds a curl soo well. I'm talking, curl ur lashes at 8 am, come home at 10, and there's still a curl. A "lift," if you will. =P 2.) It makes my lashes seem really long. A bit too long sometimes, and my eyelashes start to touch my eyebrows. And my lashes are pretty average length. 3.) It actually gives really good volume. And i don't have superthick lashes, sadly. But the volume lies in the application. You should always use a mascara comb with this one. You can just go to any Bay or Sears or anything, and swipe some mascara combs. They ARE there for you to use anyway. =) What i did was after i used up my first tube of this, i washed and kept the brush, and i use that. It's really helpful. But anyways, apply with a light hand, from root to tip. Don't just push all the product onto ur eyelashes, just kinda..glide it on. And when you see the amount of volume you like..take ur mascara brush and just start combing like mad! Then you will see the length and you WILL be clump free. It gives that really soft, doe eyed look, and honestly..i really think that a MAJOR part of sex appeal lies in ones lashes. I mean really..full, lush lashes= do me now sexy. In my humble opinion anyway. =) All in all, i REALLY recommend this product to everyone. I mean..REALLY! Edit (Oct 20th, 2011): Instead of the comb idea, there is a metal lash comb made by tweezerman which works wonders!! Way better than those ones you get at counters! I still love this mascara, by the way! =)

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
lady_baby_doll 10/11/2007 12:41:00 AM
This eyeliner was once my most beloved eyeliner of all. I reallly REALLY loved that glossy look it gave..and that it was perfect for doing an everyday smoky eye. Nothing too dramatic, but just enough to give the perfect sultry look without looking like i got into a fistfight on my way to wherever. But now..that i've kinda shopped around and seen more of what is offered and da ra ra, i think it's allright. It does look really amazing at first...but then, it kinda disappears after a while. It doesn't really disappear off my inner rims, which i line with black eevery day! (yes, i AM one of those people!) But that is because i make the line really opaque, and go over it a lot. I don't just do one swipe and i'm done..noo siree. Ahah! But the part that i smudged, on my eyelid. It just disappears. AND because i do make the line really opaque..i usually end up wiping the corners of my eyes every so often. *shrugs* Nothing major, but if you don't want the hassle..it might get annoying. So..it IS a good eyeliner. I still use it occasionally...but if u want ur eyeliner to stick around...look elsewhere.
