Lip Treatments -The Body Shop - Born Lippy Lip Balm
lachrymist 2/8/2013 1:57:00 AM
I have the strawberry one and it smells AAAAAAAHHHHHMAZING, but that's it. For a lip balm its performance was mediocre if not below average, and for the scent and the price I could totally deal with that. BUT it gave me a terrible allergic reaction with peeling and bumps and it was just a nightmare. I do have sensitive lips that peel like crazy when I encounter crappy lipsticks, but I have never had such a serious reaction to any lip balm I have tried (from chapstick to high end). Don't get it at all (not like it's a good lip balm anyway), especially the ladies with sensitive lips.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Perversion
lachrymist 2/8/2013 1:46:00 AM
Okay so I love the 24/7 liners and I don't have any problem with the other ones that I have, but for some reason perversion just doesn't work on me. Yes it is a deep rich black, and it glides on just like the other 24/7 liners, BUT it smudges like crazy (even when I don't put it on the waterline) within 2 hours, giving me super dark raccoon eyes (thanks to the *blackness* of the pencil). I had really high expectations for it and am so disappointed.
It's very light while having decent coverage, AND you can layer it without cake-iness if you want more coverage. The color is very ashy but it will adjust to your skin tone making it seem like your real skin. Whenever I am wearing this people compliment my skin without realizing I have makeup on because it's so natural. Some cons: Not transfer-free. Lasting power is only mediocre. Slightly emphasizes dryness. No cap for the pump (I had to tape all around it to make sure nothing would come out during travel). But overall, great product
I don't have acne problems but it definitely calms acne down.. Can't say more about that. But omg this really does suck blackheads out, I mean it doesn't suck the whole thing out 100 percent but every time I use it my nose would look cleaner after! Thank heaven above for this mask magic. It is pretty drying though to make sure you use a good moisturizer after.
If if you have sensitive lips or chronically dry lips, forget it. This is named butter but it will make your lips peel like crazy as opposed to moisturizing it.
I don't understand why this has such a good rating on MUA because honestly this is less than mediocre imo. It is definitely NOT moisturizing and NOT great for dry skin, in fact I don't even have dry skin and it made my skin look extra dry. Lasting power is so-so even in the fall. On the plus side coverage is great while the finish is somewhat natural, but that doesn't justify the price tag at all. Oh and also I got warm ivory because it said "for fair to light skin" and yeah just no.
I used it a few times in the summer and did have small pimples but I thought it was my hormonal breakout but recently this is the only thing I added back to my routine and I am breaking out again (and the pimples are different from my hormonal ones). Now I finally realize it's the essence that is breaking me out. So disappointed.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
lachrymist 10/16/2012 11:27:00 PM
Love this stuff, keeps eyeshadows from creasing allllllllllllll dayyyyyyyyy. The only problem I have with this is the fact that I have to work very quickly or else I won't be able to spread it all over my lid. Oh and the price, considering silicone based products could pretty much do its job..
Cleansers -Shiseido - Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam
lachrymist 10/16/2012 11:17:00 PM
It's a very strong cleanser, removes at least non-waterproof makeup and dirt. Some people say that it's very drying but as long as you don't squeeze too much it's fine. I also really love foams so
Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
lachrymist 10/16/2012 11:14:00 PM
This is a basic cleanser and I like it overall. Sometimes I feel like it leaves oil on my face but I can deal with that. I don't know if it removes foundation but it removes most of my eyeshadows while being gentle
Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Hard as Nails - Clear
lachrymist 10/16/2012 11:12:00 PM
I like it as a base coat, but I find that it reacts with some of my polishes as a top coat and turns part of them darker...
Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
lachrymist 10/5/2012 11:20:00 PM
The color is very black, the texture is super creamy, stays put for a long time, only down side is that it smudges just a tiny bit on my lower lash line.
Very creamy and easy to blend but the coverage is pretty sheer. It's also shimmery which is kind of weird... And it accentuates dry patches like crazy. Meh.
This is very creamy and glides on super smoothly, the shimmers are so pretty and the sharpener works fine. The only problem I have with this is its staying power, but for the price I am willing to reapply multiple times during the day.
Concealers -E.L.F. - Studio Line Concealer Pencil & Brush
lachrymist 9/21/2012 2:02:00 AM
Coverage is so-so, kind of hard to blend even with a finger, the brush fell off after like a month? This product was just disappointing.
