Polishes -Revlon - Gray Suede #705
lac925 4/4/2013 5:31:00 PM
I have found my HG of nude polishes!!! I cannot express how much I love this shade! I've been looking for a long time for the perfect "nude" polish that doesn't wash out my skin tone (medium with yellow undertones), but was having such a hard time. So, when I saw the Revlon polish section marked at only $3.67 (approx), I decided to take a look. Gray Suede caught my eye, so on a whim, I picked it up...and I'm so glad I did! The colour pairs with my skin tone perfectly, and makes my fingers look long and slender. It's the perfect Spring/Summer shade, but I'm sure I'll wear it all year long! The formula does go one a bit thin, but 3 coats gives it the perfect look. I can't stop admiring my nails :) If you're looking for a good nude shade, try this one out. It goes with several different skin tones and is good for a classy, simple yet elegant manicure!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Professional All-in-One Curved Brush Mascara
lac925 9/29/2012 1:43:00 PM
This is a really good mascara for a really low price (paid just under $5 CAD). Other mascaras I've used always smudge under the corners of my eyes and it's super frustrating (especially when they say "smudgeproof"!). I intended to get the waterproof version of this, and got the other one by mistake, but I'm really impressed with this. It didn't smudge ONE BIT during the day - whereas other mascaras would smudge within a couple of hours of applying :S Also, there were no clumps and my lashes were still quite soft after 2 coats. I may have to go back and get the waterproof one as I want to use it for my wedding :) Overall, I'm really impressed with this inexpensive mascara. Will repurchase!

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Haze Of Love

I love this colour! The bottle is super cute - it reminds me of the Essie (?) nail polish bottle, and it makes the polish look like it's really high-end. The brush is one of my favourites - makes application neat and fast. I will buy this brand again!

Polishes -Rimmel - 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Deliciously Dark
lac925 2/5/2012 9:18:00 PM
I usually go for pinky-brown shades of nail polish, but I wanted to try something darker (without going completely black) so I picked this up at Walmart. It was just under $2 so I figured "What the heck!". And I'm now in love with this shade :) From the first coat, which is pretty light, you wouldn't think you could achieve such a rich "deliciously dark" shade, but it does the job in just 2 coats! And because it dries so fast, you're still done in no time. The bottle is cute and the brush makes application fast and easy. In low lighting, the shade DOES look black, but in brighter light, you can definitely see the purple :) This is my new HG fall/winter shade :) I will definitely be trying other shades in this line of polishes :)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Cinna-Snap
lac925 2/5/2012 9:11:00 PM
I was looking for Rapid Ruby by Rimmel at Walmart but they didn't have it; however, I came across this shade by Sally Hansen and decided to give it a go since I was looking for a deep red shade in a fast-drying polish. And I'm glad I did :) I love the deep red shade and the way it goes on smoothly. The brush is a plus too as it's an angled brush, so application is pretty easy and less messy. I would recommend this shade for anyone looking for a deep red/burgundy colour for the cooler months :O)

Polishes -Rimmel - Lasting Finish Pro Enamel all shades, new square bottle
lac925 11/3/2011 2:37:00 PM
I LOVE this nail polish! I was looking for an inexpensive nail polish in a pinkish-brown shade that I used to get from Sally Hansen (which for some reason I cannot find anymore), and I found it in Rimmel's "Hot Cocoa". The shade is EXACTLY the same one I used to use and the price was right. I also LOVE the brush! The tapered edge gives you a lot more control with application than the usual round brush. I just applied it last night, so I have yet to see how long it wears but I'm very happy with it so far. I'm going to buy up a few more bottles just in case Rimmel decides to discontinue this shade! :P

Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
lac925 5/15/2011 8:13:00 PM
At first, I was confused with the different shades - I was between a 120 and a 210. Based on a reply I got in the Forums, I chose to go with 210 (Sandy Beige) and I'm glad I did :) The shade matches my skintone perfectly. For some reason, my face always seems a tad darker than the rest of me, but 210 blends it all together perfectly! I apply this after using a primer, using a damp makeup sponge and I get great coverage. I bought the foundation together with the matching concealer and the powder (to set everything). Not sure yet how it will hold up in warmer weather (I tend to produce more oil in the summer - bleh!), but we'll just have to see. Overall, I'm glad I tried this. My skin has a few acne scars and some redness and this really covers them up :) And I love how "high end" the packaging looks :P Will repurchase when I run out.

Primer/ Corrector -Cover Girl - Simply Ageless Corrector
lac925 3/13/2011 2:45:00 PM
I love this corrector :) I finally went out and got it after reading some of the reviews and I'm glad I did. I have dark undereye circles (thanks to my mom LOL) and concealers/foundations never really covered them. Since my skin tone is more on the yellow side, this product blends in perfectly. I was soo surprised at the results - I tested it at home when I got it and it made a HUGE difference (and this was on TOP of my makeup at the end of the day!). The packaging is all right - I just have to make sure my hands are clean before I dip into it - but the price COULD be a little lower. Now, I want to try the other Simply Ageless products in the line ^_^ Overall, I give it a 4/5 and will repurchase when I run out!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
lac925 3/3/2011 4:21:00 PM
This is my first time using a gel eyeliner and I LOVE it! I usually use Maybelline's liquid liner, but I saw this one at the store and decided to give it a try. I love the colour (got the Brown, my usual liner colour) and the little glass jar (although it MAY become a bit of a hassle when I'm in a rush). The product went on smoothly and the "wing" looked way more natural than when I did it with a liquid liner (which just looked like I used a marker!). My only concern is with the packaging, as it is an open jar and I'll be dipping the brush into it every time I use it. It says to simply wipe the brush with paper towel after each use, but can I clean it with some baby shampoo instead and still not lose the shape of the brush??? Overall, I'm quite happy with the product. I'll just have to start using eye makeup remover again, rather than just soap and water :S

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
lac925 2/17/2011 4:54:00 PM
This is the very first primer I've ever used and I'm quite impressed with how "flawless" it made my skin look :) As per other reviews, I used only a minimal amount - I love how I don't need to use a lot of the product, seeing as how small the jar is and how pricey it is - and my skin looked almost perfect enough to go WITHOUT any make-up! Not sure about any breakouts yet (I JUST purchased this the other day), but I WILL keep an eye out because my skin is super sensitive. Overall, I was impressed with this product and I'm glad I finally decided to give it a try :)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Maximum Growth Nourishing Nail Colour in Calming Cocoa
lac925 2/12/2011 11:56:00 AM
Love love LOVE this colour! It's one of the colours that actually compliments my skin tone (kinda yellowish, kinda beige-ish) and I get so many compliments on this colour, too! It's not too dark or too light and it goes with ANY season. You could say that this colour is the "nude" of the nail polish palette :) Would highly recommend!

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Satsuma Fragrance Oil
lac925 2/12/2011 11:42:00 AM
Ahh...Satsuma :D Another fragrance that brings back soooo many memories! This was the scent I turned to after my Dewberry phase wore off. I love the light, citrus scent and it's perfect for the summer months. I never thought I'd like "orange" scents, but this one is addictive :) When I can't get my hands on this perfume oil, I substitute it with Sweet Tangerine body mist from SPAresource - it's a lot cheaper and it's pretty close to Satsuma...but NOTHING really can replace TBS Satsuma :)

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Dewberry perfume oil

Like others, this brings back high school memories :) It was my first Body Shop scent that I ever tried/bought/wore. It's a very fruity, summery scent which I liked. If you love fruity perfumes, this is one to try!

Treatments -Biore - Pore Cleansing Strips - Nose
lac925 2/12/2011 11:31:00 AM
Having noticeable pores myself, this product is a Godsend. They really do remove all that stuff that gets clogged in my pores, and I have to admit that it always fascinates me what comes out :S I use them about once every 2 weeks - when the skin on my nose starts feeling a bit "rough" (that's how I know my pores are clogged) - and afterwards, the skin on my nose is super smooth :) If you're as unfortunate as I am and don't have tiny pores, then I'd strongly recommend this product. For those who complain about how much it hurts to take them off, just soften the strip with some water :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
lac925 2/12/2011 12:22:00 AM
I have super thin and short lashes, and no matter how much mascara I used, you STILL couldn't see my lashes :( When this product first came out, I decided to give it a try...It's now my FAVOURITE mascara :) As others have mentioned, it CAN tend to clump if you're not thorough, but the volume it gives makes up for it. I curl my lashes a bit before applying, then once dry, I curl my lashes again and WOW! I love having lashes that you can actually SEE even when I wear my glasses! Overall, a really good product :D
