Styling Products -Organix - Nourishing Coconut Milk Weightless Mousse

Finally I have found my HG hair product!! I bought this as I wanted the Organix Argan Oil shampoo and there was an offer on of two products for £8 so picked this up because I love coconut scented products.. didn't really expect much of it but oh my I have been proven wrong. I have wavy-ish hair that I like to let air dry. My hair is in pretty good condition although it varies on a daily basis as to how nice it looks when it dries, sometimes it goes lovely and wavy/curly and other times it dries with huge kinks and looks horribly messy - I also have the issue that sometimes my hair can be a bit flat. For years now I have been searching for that product which I can put into damp hair and then just leave my hair alone and that will give my hair that extra bit of volume I need while also making my hair go lovely and wavy and keep frizz at bay. I may have been looking for a little bit too much from one product so needless to say I have gone through countless different products, from sea salt sprays to leave-in gels to serums. But alas finally I have found just the product i have been searching for! This mousse, at first does not appear promising as it comes out very watery, but I find that makes it easier to run through my hair evenly. It makes my hair frizz-free and accentuates my hair's waviness while adding body to my hair. I find that it makes my hair super soft although sometimes, and this is my only negative for the mousse, I don't like this as it goes so soft that it gets to that unmanageable stage. This stuff also smells gorgeous but sadly the scent doesn't last for long on my hair. Overall an AMAZING hair product!!

Skincare - Face -Liz Earle - Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
la234 12/15/2011 7:30:00 PM
I was so excited to try this out after reading so many blog posts and reviews about how good it is but sadly it has not lived up to my expectations. After the first few uses I developed 2 or 3 red angry spots and a few smaller pimples. I continued to use the cleanser as I thought that maybe this was just because it was 'purging' my pores and that it was just all the clogged dirt finally coming out. I continued using for 2 weeks and no new spots formed thankfully but my skin became so dry, especially on my chin and patches on my cheeks, which I can only attribute to the cleanser. I also noticed the edges of my lips were becoming really dry, cracking and becoming very sensitive (when I applied lip balm it stung) - not sure if this is because of the cleanser as when I applied round my chin and nose some would go onto my lips. My eyelids would also feel irritated after use sometimes. Also I hate the scent of it, it's far too strong! I did love the process of massaging the product onto dry skin and using the muslin cloth... after use my skin felt so clean but my skin just didn't react well to it sadly. I am now using Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel which is similar in application and so far it's making my skin a lot happier.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes
la234 12/8/2011 7:06:00 PM
This was one of the first 'high end' eyecreams I bought and on first use I wasn't that crazy on it - it felt nice and moisturising but I didn't notice any improvement in fine lines or circles. Fast forward through many other eye moisturiser purchases, some of which were 'high end' (Clarins Eye Contour Balm being one of note which was useless) and I have decided All About Eyes really is pretty great and the best one I have used. Now after my trials of many other eye creams I have given up on finding one that is magically going to remove my dark circles (none have even helped them a little) or fine lines (just gotta live with them) so I now look for eye creams which I feel soothe and moisturise my eyes best.. enter All About Eyes. I feel with with some others I've tried I haven't really felt like they were doing anything but with AAE it feels moisturising going on and leaves my eye area smooth without being greasy like some other rich eye creams. Also sometimes after removing eye makeup my eyelids feel a bit irritated so I like how AAE feels nice and soothing. Only downside is the packaging... I don't really like using jars just because I feel it's not hygenic dipping my fingers into the product all time but I love this cream a lot so will just put up with it (but please Clinique bring out a tube version!).

Brows -MAC - Brow Set
la234 11/12/2011 6:20:00 PM
WOW! I love this - I'm just so annoyed I never discovered this gem of a product years ago. Just recently I had become unhappy with my brows so I thought I would buy some products to try and remedy this. I purchased the MAC eyebrow pencil and this and they have been the best makeup purchases I have ever made. Using both has just 'pulled together' my look and sets off the rest of my makeup so well. I initially wanted to buy the MAC eyebrow wax (MAC Brow Finisher) but my local MAC counter doesn't stock it. Previously I had been against using a gel as I thought it would be noticeable and would make my eyebrows look 'crispy' or wet but the sales girl talked me into buying the gel and I'm so happy she did. I used to lightly go over my brows with the eyebrow pencil then apply the gel. However, I now prefer to use the gel to get my eyebrows into a nice shape then use the pencil and finish with another application of gel. This gel holds my eyebrows in shape all day without flaking and looks very natural - can't even tell I have gel on, just makes my brows look so groomed and perfect. Even if I don't use the pencil to fill my eyebrows in just using the gel alone improves the look of my brows so much. And I find that using it with pencil makes the pencil blend in better and look way more natural. Thank you MAC!!

Lipstick -MAC - Frost - Angel
la234 11/5/2011 11:05:00 PM
Very disappointed with this lipstick! I was looking for a lovely everyday pink lipstick and 'Angel' ticks all the right boxes shade-wise - I love the colour - but the consistency and staying power are not good. I have lips that tend to be quite dry but I always make sure I apply chapstick before lipstick. However even when I do 'Angel' always ends up drying my lips as soon as I apply and starts to stick to the dry parts of my lips which looks terrible. I also find it lasts about half an hour or less. So it's a gorgeous colour but I just don't bother using as it as I know it'll only be visible for such a short space of time.

Polishes -Revlon - Minted #85
la234 11/5/2011 10:52:00 PM
I love this polish! I was searching for a lovely pastel mint shade and was having no luck until I came across this. The shade is perfect - it's fresh and bright and it is just pastel-y enough without being too white. The consistency is very thin which is annoying but I'm not too fussed as I love the colour so much so it balances it out. I apply three coats; the first one I apply very thinly then two medium-thick coats on top. The finish is nice and smooth and glossy but not too glossy (I don't like pastels when to have an ultra glossy finish). The staying power is good as well - without a top coat I find this polish lasts 5 days before I start to see signs of chipping.
