Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - RUSH 60 Second High Speed Top Coat
kwpdb8 5/12/2012 3:45:00 PM
The Rush top coat has great shine and average staying power. The dry time is acceptable. This top coat does NOT dry the polish beneath though, so it's very important that the color be completely dry before applying Rush. I won't buy this again, because the bottle is massive. The brush is annoyingly long, but the bottle is quite tall, so I suppose it makes sense. I will use it as my manicure refresher top coat, which is a role it serves well. Not my pick for a primary top coat.
Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - Beauty Secrets - Ridge Filler

The Beauty Secrets Ridge Filler goes on pretty well, but that's the only pro. It does not dry. No, not "it dries slowly," but it DOES NOT dry. Hours after the last coat of polish has gone on, you can bump the nail and the entire thing will smudge off. I've given it the old college try, but this is something I actually regret buying.
I bought a few Ulta Professional Nail Lacquers when they had a BOGO sale... two for 7.50 is one thing, one for 7.50 is another! Even at $3.75 a pop, these polishes did not live up to my expectations, which were that they would be AT LEAST as good and workable as the cheapies (WnW, Revlon, etc). The first coat goes on fine. The second coat goes on mostly opaque, but there's some pulling at the cuticle, so I had to apply a third coat to cover those nude spots that showed through. The formula takes forever to dry on its own, and likes to goop up inexplicably - some nails I could put the second coat on easily, and on others it turned into a goopy mess that I had to even out with lots and lots of extra brushstrokes. This product is not worth buying. You'll have easier application with cheaper products and there aren't colors unique enough for me to ever buy another bottle.
Top/Base Coats -Unlisted Brand - Out the Door Northern Lights Silver

Very very fine micro holo glitter. One coat gives a subtle beautiful shimmer with pops of silver and rainbow colors. It's much finer and less glittery than the Fairy Dust, but two coats of Northern Lights is just...wow! I love Northern Lights in either gold or silver, over any polish, one or two coats depending on the look I want... Its a must have!!!
Lotions/ Creams -Avon - Moisture Therapy Hand Cream
kwpdb8 1/31/2012 2:44:00 AM
HG!! The entire line is great, but I use the intensive, extra dry skin version with the blue and white packaging (not the yellow one pictured). I live in Reno, Nevada where it's freezing in the winter, no humidity, 5000 feet elevation and high winds. My hands will crack and bleed if left untended to. This hand cream feels rich and luxurious and rubs in quickly. Minimal grease. Better than Curel, better than Neutrogena, and for less than half the price. The hand cream is amazing, and the body lotion and moisturizing cream are great too. I got a bundle of moisture therapy intensive which had two creams, a lotion, a large tube of hand cream, and lip treatment for $9.99!!! I love this product.
Eye Primer -Bare Escentuals - bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer

I was looking for an alternative to UDPP, because my Urban Decay primer always dried up within a few weeks of getting it, and I didn't like how frequently I had to buy it. I never really bought in to the Bare Escentuals craze, but the saleswoman at Ulta recommended this product to me, and I'm so glad I followed her advice. The major edge that the BE Prime Time has over UDPP is that it truly enhances the color. For example, UD's "Fishnet" is a shadow I've always had trouble with--it disappears when I try to blend, and is generally sheerer than I'd like it to be. Not so, with BE Prime Time. Colors are sharper and brighter, and I found it very easy to blend. Those who say this product is sticky are likely applying too much--the applicator is flawed in that it kind of globs the primer on too thick. I dot it on with the applicator, and blend it around, up, and out with my fingers. It truly is lightweight and non-greasy, and has intense staying power. I can't say enough about how pleasantly surprised I was by this product. I absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants crisp, vibrant eye shadow all day long. A thousand times yes to BE Prime Time!
