Treatments -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Clear Skin Cream

I am a tough sell on most skincare products because they generally don't show distinct results. I have had acne problems for about 15 yrs now and was beginning to think I would never get the best of them. I find dermatologists to be pompous and unhelpful. I began to feel like maybe it was just my 'dirty' skin since nothing worked. I am not good at using new products regularly which didn't help. I also refuse to spend serious money on a beauty product so no Lancome or even Clinique for me. I recently started using the newish acne kits in the store. I found LOreal's to be pretty good, but they seem to have discontinued. Neutrogena's is okay, but I actually mix with LOreal's anti-acne cream (2.5% benzoyl peroxide) plus Neutrogena's Astringent (2.5% salicylic acid). It was working steadily and I stuck to the routine. However, my hormones were still kicking in every two weeks interfering with my overall improvement. Your reviews here on the anti-wrinkle/anti-acne cream sold me! I decided to give it a shot and literally within 24 hours I noticed a difference. It's only been three days and some of my most persistent zits under my chin have all but disappeared. My pores are tight and more clear, my skin tone more even and I am practically glowing! I can't believe it. I am so afraid that my skin will 'get used' to the product and I will have to continue my endless search. I know I will have to keep up the skin regimen plus this cream, but I am still pretty blown away. There's no arguing that this product works, at least for me. I should note that I also have strange sensitive skin. It's oily, but dry in some spots. Most of those 10% benzoyl peroxide treatments derm's recommend made my skin freak out. So, it's also amazing that this product is not disagreeing with skin. So far no reaction whatsoever. I honestly think this product is a steal because it works. I won't need to buy 50 other products to try out and find they won't work. I think I paid between $11-12 at Target for a 1 oz. tube. I'm happy with that since I'm getting fairly amazing results. I'm going to add that I can be suspicious of over-positive reviews because they seem to good to be true. I swear that this is an honest review. If your skin sounds like mine--I think it will work for you.

Sunscreen -Coppertone - Sport Sunblock Lotion SPF 30

Since you have to wear sunscreen, I would say this is the one to choose. I like its consistency which is fairly light and easily spreadable, but without being too greasy (you even forget you have it on). I don't find that I have to reapply at all, but this may be because I am not in the sun long enough to need it. I guess I wouldn't totally trust it to be waterproof. It remains on the summer checklist.

Sunscreen -Banana Boat - Ultra Sunblock SPF 30 Continuous Clear Spray

This stuff is HORRIBLE! I burn within 30 mins in the sun so I thought that a spray would help me sufficiently bath myself in sunscreen. I will say that it accomplishes this goal, but it does so by leaving a disgusting, sticky, bug-spray-smelling puddle on your skin. It did work, but the greasiness never goes away even after hours on your skin. I will definitely not purchase again.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

My mom had been recommending this to me for years and I didn't pay attention because it seemed so boring and medicinal. When she was visiting, I finally decided to give it a shot since nothing else was helping my acne. So far, I have found this to be very gentle, as advertised, and I think my skin is clearing up as a result. My mom and I also suffer from rosacea and both of our dermatologists recommended it for that, I think because it is non-irritating. The consistency is a little goopy and I find it hard to spread on my face. At first, I thought the film it left was weird, but when my skin was soft and started clearing up, I changed my mind. My skin is oily but I think it was also dry, if this makes sense, so this seems to strike a great balance. Only problem is that I tend to go through it pretty quickly. I probably use too much. Target has the cheapest prices, I think.

Lotions/ Creams -Perlier - Pink peony hand & body cream
kwebber1209 7/13/2007 2:33:00 AM
I love the smell of this line. It is floral, but I don't find it overpoweringly so. I initially got a tub of body butter from a friend and I finished the whole thing (I never use that much moisturizer). The texture of the cream is just a little oily, but it tends to go away after you rub it in. I think I'm pretty picky about scents, so I'm surprised others didn't like it.

Powders -LUSH - Silky Underwear Dusting Powder
kwebber1209 7/13/2007 2:28:00 AM
I don't know why I dislike the smell of this so much, but I find that once it's mixed with my own scent, it is truly revolting. I bought this to replace my Perlier Pink Peony powder and now that I found it again at Marshalls, I am going to get rid of the Lush. I agree with the complaints about the packaging, but these are insignificant compared with the scent. Thought it was good in the store, perhaps a little spicy/exotic, but it didn't work for me.
