Fragrances -Prada - Candy EDP
rated 4 of 5
kurikumi 9/7/2011 10:06:00 AM

Warm caramel/vanilla scent at first... the drydown I get the smell of Vanilla flowers, and somehow I'm not sure what that mixture is that I smell in between. It transitions from full on Yummy Candy to... a flowery candy mix. This said, I LOVE THIS! Aquolina sugar always smelled cheap and saccharin sweet on me, but I always wanted a gourmand scent! This fits the bill! It lets me smell all the caramel I want without me having to eat it! The bottle is ADORABLE and so is the box. A word of warning: The scent lasts about 3-4 hours which is really weak in general for an EDP. I had to keep respraying throughout the day, which makes me feel like I should have gotten the big bottle. Also the box cover reeks of a chemical/dye smell when you first open it up- like permanent marker scent. I hope this review helps someone!

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy
rated 1 of 5
kurikumi 8/7/2011 9:31:00 PM

First of I want to say that I wanted to love this. The bottle is really cute, the reviews were pretty good, and I am a sucker for flowers on anything. Now, everyone seems to be saying here that its a weak scent that doesn't last, but I just sprayed this 2 hours ago and I can still smell it. Just 1 spray, on my cotton T-shirt, over the chest. And this isn't the first time using it either. I stopped using this a few months back because every time I would use it, it would give me a slight headache and thus make it impossible for me to concentrate on my day. Also, every time I use this I get this weird feeling in the back of my throat. Like a lump in the back of my throat, and its never happened with my other perfumes before! This smells like concentrated flowers and a lot of sugar in spray form. That's all I can think of. I bought the Daisy Eau so Fresh because it doesn't smell as cloying as this one. Going to return this one, sadly. For reference: I like floral, oriental, musk, scents, occasionally fruity ones.

Blush -Tarte - True Blood Cheek Stain
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 7/19/2011 7:28:00 PM

This cheek stain has similar texture to the other Tarte cheek stains... But there is so much glitter in it that I can't stand it. That aside, if it a beautiful snow white red flush if you can spend the time picking out all the glitter. The glitter in this is HUGE, not the tiny micro glitter or shimmer, we're talking about school art project GLITTER! I wouldn't recommend this unless you are a fan of glitter, its just too much when I'm standing under the sun. I wonder if its just the one I got, I will have to go to the store to check out the testers, and I will update if that is the case.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 5/14/2011 1:33:00 AM

I know its light pink but when I apply it on my hands or face it turns peachy pink, sometimes mauve indoors and dusty peachy pink in outdoor lighting.. I'm NC 15 for reference.. I really wish I had someone to ask why. I really liked the idea of having a light pink Blush, and I thought this was finally it, sadly its not the case, and as another reviewer here put it, I get mauve, peach, or a neutral shade of pink but never a true light pink. I really wanted to love this, since I have Tipsy and that blush is true to the color in the pan. I might pick up Amused, but I'm worried that it might be too bright pink and I tend to have a heavy hand sometimes, even with my MAC 187 brush. I'm thinking of returning Dollface. I'm sad, because I really wanted to love this blush. EDIT: I ended up returning this and getting Katie from Illamasqua, which was the light pink I was searching for. I hope that this can help someone out there!

Polishes -OPI - Silver Shatter
rated 4 of 5
kurikumi 5/8/2011 9:26:00 PM

Wow I'm surprised about the bad reviews for this product! I just got it today and getting it to "shatter" was a breeze! I love the intense sparkly silver crackle overlay, I agree the crackle could be more obvious like it shows on the picture on the bottle, but its still Unique and I love it! I never got the black shatter so I can't compare them both in terms of texture, but this looks wonderful over any ocean/sea colored shade of polish! Same Pro-wide brush that I love, and the only complaint is that it dries really fast and starts crackling almost right on the spot! So work fast with it, and I realized the thicker of a coat you put on, the wider the crackle gaps. I hope this helps someone!

Polishes -Essie - Need A Vacation
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 4/30/2011 5:54:00 PM

First off I will say I am a big fan of Essie and OPI. However this nailpolish color is anything but rich, and streaky at best. I gave it 2 lippies, 1 for the shine and 1 for the pretty color it had. But it is really streaky and dries faster than the other essie nailpolishes I have :( I can't update on the wear of it yet, but will update when I get the chance to!

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
rated 4 of 5
kurikumi 3/5/2011 5:22:00 PM

This stuff is my budget go-to eyeliner. Never fails, and is a good basic for my makeup look. It is a bit hard to draw on in a precise line, but that just may be the lack of skill on my part. the felt tip is really firm, and it dries out waterproof and fast, so i find myself having to dip into the container a few times per eye. Also, when i make a mistake, i can't just use water and a Qtip to remove it, because it sets almost instantly.. that again is my fault ~.~ But the good part about all this is that... it wears like IRON! nothing short of an oil based remover will remove this for me. I have normal eyelids, somedays it can get oily, but this one doesn't run or smear, or smudge on me. good value for the price!

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen
rated 1 of 5
kurikumi 3/5/2011 5:18:00 PM

I got this one thinking it would be as good in lasting power as my Canmake or Dollywink eyeliner marker pens. Or even as good in staying power as MAC/Revlon's regular felt tip liquid eyeliners. But no! I was so disappointed when it smeared with just regular WATER! Thats right folks. all it took for this to smudge on my eyes/hands was a drop of water. at the end of the day and a bit of drizzle I looked like a wannabe emo chick. Save your money and get the japanese ones for the same price! Also note: the blackest Black color comes on me a dark grey. I have fair skin currently with normal eyelids, so this didnt smear on me due to oil for sure. If I could give this eyeliner a 0 I would. There is just so much better out there for the same price or less.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Oshima Tsubaki - Camellia Hair Oil
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 3/5/2011 12:40:00 AM

I got this after hearing how wonderful Camellia/tsubaki oil was for preventing breakage and helping you grow out long hair. This oil is scentless, 100% camellia oil. I liked how it had no scent, but it did nothing to prevent breakage for me, whereas when I used coconut oil my hair was less prone to breakage from brushing etc. I love Japanese hair products and have tried shiseidos tsubaki line with no good result either. Save your money for Dove's new hair serum with coconut oil( which I used today and I am pleased with), or kerastase's oleo relax serum light which is light and prevents breakage better than this tsubaki oil. This said, my hair is prone to breakage, it is slightly above my waist, and I have a LOT of it. ( A good idea of how much hair I have-- is that it takes 3 boxes of Garnier box color to color my hair or 2 full bottles of liese/prettia bubble haircolor)

Foundations -Lily Lolo - Mineral Foundation
rated 3 of 5
kurikumi 2/27/2011 9:17:00 PM

First off i want to start by saying they have great customer service. They are almost like Alima minus the 3 free samples. On to the foundation: The color that matched me was Blondie, and I am nc 20, maybe lighter in winter months. the coverage was lacking in comparison to Alima, and my face was oily after 1-2 hrs. Alima keeps me matte for 3-4 hrs ++ and I have really oily skin with medium sized pores, acne prone with acne scarring. Coverage wise I would pick Alima, because i dont have to use as much product to get the same coverage. those of you who are fans of EDM's old formula, Lily Lolo is the closest match in terms of texture that I have tried.

Hair Color -SAMY - fat foam
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 2/16/2011 12:14:00 PM

I got the color in Dark blonde. It had an ash tint on it on the box, but when I used it on my dark brown hair there was no color difference. my hair, for reference, was the same color as megan fox's, almost blackened brown. I left on the forumla for 45 mins, and all it did was lighten my regrowth to the same color as the rest of my hair, a dark brown. Very disappointed. i was hoping it would be at like the japanese Liese brand! But the box came with a $2 off coupon, and I feel like I'm going to try light golden brown or light golden blonde and then do another review. For reference, I have thick Asian hair that is fine, to my back and colored every 1-2 months. EDIT: I tried this again in a different color, hoping to make this work for me. This time I got it in Light golden brown, and the difference is that i tried it on pre-lightened hair. AND I STILL ended up with DARK DARK hair. I started off with light brown hair, think caramel brownish, and ended up with chocolate colored hair. Therefore I am now certain that this SAMY haircolor dyes much darker than the box color. This will be my last time buying this haircolor. Can't believe I tried it a second time. Its also very drying, and left my hair significantly dryer and more brittle. If you're still wanting to try this, remember that it colors 3-4 shades darker than it shows on the box, and this is on pre-lightened hair. It also leaves a reddish cast to it.

Oh gosh.... I dont know what to say about this perfume except for it smells like chinese medicated oil :( Smells like my grandmother >< oh yuck! no redeeming factors, and while I like a hint of musk in my perfume, this one kills me. I don't think I have ever smelled something I've hated as much as this one.

Lip Treatments -Shiseido - THERAPINO Oil Bar
rated 4 of 5
kurikumi 1/25/2008 10:36:00 PM

This is a review for Shiseido's THERAPINO Oil Bar (4.5g) in the pink/cream packaging. This is a solid lip balm that, once applied, feels like an oil on my lips, no rich creamy feeling here. I bought this on impulse, so I had no idea what to expect from this. This is fragrance-free, goes on smooth to leave a light coating of "oil". No really, it feels like you just got some oil and applied it. I'm not a big fan of this, but I cannot see any reason to dislike it :) it has a very cute, Indian-inspired packaging, in a sturdy pastic tube. I'm undecided on whether I would buy again, but I'll leave it at yes for now, unless I develop an allergy to it, in which case I will change my review :)

Lip Gloss -Unlisted Brand - Sony CP Curvy Lip silicone
rated 3 of 5
kurikumi 1/25/2008 7:03:00 PM

I bought this in the color Melon Beige. This color is medium in pigment, and it is very sticky, slightly similiar to MAC tinted lipglasses in pigment, scent and texture. It has a faint vanilla scent, and when you try to remove it with a facial tissue, the tissue tears and you get bits of tissue stuck to your lips >< It feels like having Elmer's glue stuck to your lips :( that said, I have a lot of MAC lipglasses, and I think they are more useable and less sticky than this one. This has an spatula type applicator, not a doe-foot or brush. This can sometimes make application tricky, as the product is very goopy. I had like 2 smears on my first application, and I'm normally very accurate with lipgloss application. I would not recommend this if you are going to be kissing someone, it might be kind of gross :( As for the Plumping effect, there was none, but the shine is incredible. I paid about $11 USD for this, on adambeauty.com

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Sooshco Baby Kabuki Brush [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
kurikumi 4/22/2007 9:02:00 PM

I can see this working as a blush brush, but its definitely not dense enough to be called a Kabuki. this is just a wierd handled blush brush, and I would not recommend getting it if you are looking for a Kabuki for MMU. if you were using it for blush/bronzer it would probably work, but for me, I think the constant shedding putme off, it also isn't as soft as I hoped it would be.
