Hair Color -L'Oreal - colour experte Truffle 5.1

I've spent upwards of $200 on a base color and highlights. While I know it's not easy - in these uncertain economic times I thought - be brave and try this! I purchased L'oreal Coulor Experte in Truffle 5.1 for about $14.00 at Ulta (before $3.50 coupon). All I can say is WOW! This is the only haircolor I know that combines the base and highlights in one package - so this is a great deal! I wanted a medium/dark brown with NO brassiness (my natural color is red - which at times salons have made orange). This is EXACTLY what I wanted/got for the base. With any hair color - I always do the patch test because I have tattoos. I feel the success of the hair color depends on coverage. I have fairly long hair and this covered completely. Beautiful! So beautiful I almost skipped the highlights and I am glad I did not. I studied all of the warnings on this site and other Internet sites. I knew to leave the hightlights on the full 25 minutes - unless I wanted orange highlights. They also turned out beautifully! Some caramel, some blond. I did a little chunking but was too chicken to do full chunking. I will next time. My only error was to not put enough highlights in the bottom half but it looks like reverse ombre. I cannot recommend this product enough. I lost track of some of the highlights, so I will use foils next time. The fingerpad got the thumbs down on this site, but it worked for me. I am truly happy with my hair - much more so than when I leave the salon. GREAT PRODUCT!

Shampoo -Pantene - Expert Collection Age Defy Shampoo

Got a bad case of roots going on now, and waiting for the patch test to complete before the touch-up. I bought this shampoo based upon the great reviews on MA, hoping to salvage my hair somewhat for Christmas. It was $8.00 at Target - not cheap but well worth it! My hair looks fantastic! Shiny and full and the roots seem non-existent. This is a great one - a good way to tide me over until I can color.

Love this one for $6.00 - (got a BOGO50 eyeliner for $2.00). The colors are ALL beautiful. I have had it for a week and cannot decide which ones to wear each day - they are that beautful! Pigmented, long-wearing. . . for $6.00!

Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Meteor-Eyes Baked Glitter Eyeshadow Supernova

Beautiful! A dark purple glitter eyeshadow. This does look more like a flat purple on my eyes - a GREAT smoky eye look. But I did see a fair amount of glitter on the Kleenex when I took it off - besides - I'm 56 - I should probably stay away from the glitter. I know the Urban Decay settles right in the creases - but I put this on the lid only and LOVED it!!! Going back for more!!! And only $6.00 at Walmart

No pigment and no staying power (even over my NYX lid primer). Both this and the Scandaleyes will go back if Walgreens will take them.

Mascara -Rimmel - Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara

I have never tried Rimmel before. It was BOGO50. I like drugstore cosmetics - usually no need to buy the high end department store but I do NOT care for this mascara or Glam Eyes Purple Reign (see my review). I will stick to Wet n Wild - it regularly gets beaten up on this website but I find it to be a much improved product. I may take both Rimmel back if Walgreens lets me.

I was looking for a 'crayon type purple' and this is it. I love wet n'wild anyway - they are really on their game. They have really improved their product. This is a great -'blue purple' beautiful! At first I though 'whaaa' when I saw the brush but it is actually easy to use. Great product and color.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - PhotoReady Powder - Translucent

This was a part of a BOGO 50% off at Walgreens. It was kind of steep - $14.00? But it does absorb the oil and adds a nice no color finish.

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Smitten
rated 5 of 5
ktkemp33 7/21/2012 1:58:00 PM

This is fantastic! It is a LONG lasting stain, with moisturizers. Smitten is a pink/red color. Most of these were sold out at Walgreens but I LOVE this color. It lasted on my lips until the next day. It's bright, but I layer a lighter color lip gloss over it. Going to go buy some more colors! It was a BOG1 50% - about 4.99 - WELL worth it!

I have Pop Stain Stay in Pop Pink. It was kind of expensive ($16.00) and the brush has gotten shredded after about 20 uses. But it did last. This NYC was only $7.00. It is FANTASTIC. It lasts until the next day. It looks great with a lip gloss on top.

Blush -Milani - Baked Blush in Luminoso

I bought this because it is supposed to be a dupe of NARS Orgasm. It is truly beautiful - pink/peach shimmery with great lasting power! I have not worn blush for years, but these beauties (Dolce Pink) have me wearing it again.

Read all of the good reviews on MA and thought I'd try since they are always on the mark. Phenomenal - my hair looks great - it's for color treated hair - so no stripping. $2.74 at Walmark. Amazing.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - blingtastic
rated 5 of 5

This is part of the Gem Crush line. $6.25 at Walmart - then a .50 coupon. It was almost all sold out but Blingtastic was left. It is a beautiful silver microglitter with medium/large aqua glitter. Beautiful, showy, glittery!!!! Two coats and it's opaque! No need for a base coat color!
