I have repurchased this a couple times. I love it. I love how it makes my hair look and it smells wonderful. Sweet Almond-y smell. It doesn't take much - pea size or less. I let my hair air dry and then smooth this midshaft through the ends - then scrunch to expose the layers in my hair cut... it gives an effortless tousled look and doesn't feel like there is anything in your hair. The key is rubbing/warming the product in your hands before you put it on your hair. And for my fine hair - less is more. My husband has started using it too - for his short hair - it defines but doesn't make it crispy - which I can't stand crispy hair. You can find it cheaper on amazon.com :)

Lip Gloss -Pur Minerals - Lip Gloss Stick in Honey Pie
ktdetails 11/27/2012 11:18:00 PM
Let me just start by saying - I am not a lipgloss girl. I can't stand the stuff - but this is a game changer. There are a lot of items like this on the market now. Clinique Chubby Sticks, Tarte LipSurgence, Revlon Kissable Balm Stain (though that's the only one that is really a stain) --- this is just a gloss - not a stain. It's $15 and available in 4 colors right now. And there is a 4 pc holiday set with more colors -- so 8 colors total. I am IN LOVE with Honey Pie. It's a warm neutral peachy pink brown. The color is buildable but this particular shade is not meant to go to heavy dark saturation. This is a my lips but better type of color - but the BEST MLBB I've ever tried. Sliky application but not overly slippy/slimely. No goop factor whatsoever. Just hydration and shine and sheer but rich color. This blows MAC lustre formula lipsticks out of the water --- and doesn't dry my lips out. You can find it at Ulta. Go. Now. Swatch. Test. Try. Love. And hopefully they will come out with more colors. Because this stuff is awesome and Honey Pie will always be in my purse. It is my new HG lipcolor --- and let me remind you - I am not a gloss girl. I'm more of a lipstick stick girl -- but this is effortless and gorgeous.

Great job UD. I have finally found that illusive foundation shade that is very fair but still warm toned. Shade 1.0. Thank you for labeling your shades so clearly. Cool tones end in .5 and warm tones end in .0 - I don't have do envision if ivory or bisque or linen would be lighter-- it's a numbered scale = perfect. The finish looks very natural - maybe I would describe as satin --- not matte but not dewy or sparkly or high sheen or moisturizing. I feel polished but not over done. If I want to go for the no makeup look or not trying look --- this mixes so well with my oil free moisturizer - to turn it into a tinted moisturizer too. I use my fingers to apply. I think this product would be awful with a sponge because you hardly need any product. As far as lasting power - I've started using this foundation in conjunction with the All Nighter makeup spray - and I can go 16 + hours and it looks perfect. I can't remember the last time I'm been so pleased with a foundation. I do think that your skin needs to be in pretty good condition for this to work for you. It covers flush and evens skin tone but if you have a monstrous breakout or textured scarring or need full coverage pigment coverage - that is not what this Naked Skin Weightless Foundation was designed to do.... :)

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Lipstick

WOW. This just might be my all time favorite lipstick. Lovely softely muted rich peachy pink red. Can be dabbed on for a daytime look and layered up for an evening look. This is such a great lipstick if your tired of everything else being too saturated, too bright, too light or too cool toned. This is fantastic for warm or neutral/warm toned skin. Looks great with neutral brown eyeshadow looks. I have to buy an extra so I always have one in my purse. If you layer it over lip balm - you can get a more sheer look - but without it the Satin texture has good staying power but not as dry as say a matte lipstick.

Tinted Moisturizer -Tarte - Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer
ktdetails 9/28/2011 10:41:00 AM
This review is for the newer formulation of Tarte's Amazonian Clay Smooth Operator Tinted Moisturizer - (not the serum, not the foundation, not the original smooth operator). I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF. I never liked how heavy the Laura Mericer TM felt - yet seem to not provide coverage and it's not broad spectrum Spf 20. But this new version of TM from Tarte is outstanding - it covers redness and lasts all day if I set it with Laura Mercier's translucent powder. It's inspiring me to wear less makeup. I thought I always had to wear foundation to make my skin look good - this has changed my mind. I've been wearing it for 2 weeks straight. I love it. I will repurchase it. I am in the lightest shade Agent 00. It's fantastic :)

Mascara -Christian Dior - Iconic Mascara in Chestnut Brown
ktdetails 8/30/2011 9:04:00 AM
HG material. I LOVE this mascara. It thickens, lengthens, defines, and gives a bit of curl. I love love love the warm brown shade - it makes my lashes look unreal but in a amazing still ok for daytime or nighttime way. It is not just a tint on your lashes - it's dramatic - but not in a carbon black kind of way. The formula doesn't transfer to my upper lid - and it stays put all day. I wish it were cheaper - but I know I'll repurchase it ----because drugstore true brown mascaras are hard to find that aren't in the most basic and boring formulas - I'm not a "black/brown" fan - I'm a warm/neutral brown fan - and drugstore mascaras don't last on me they end up smudging like crazy. Dior Iconic stays put and for that - I will spend the money. This is way better than the DiorShow Mascara in brown - I bought that first thinking I would save a few bucks - Diorshow in brown was as unremarkable as a nothing mascara. BUT ICONIC IS A WINNER.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre - Charismatic

It's a medium sheer red with gold luster - very warm - slightly orange toned. GORGEOUS! Perfect for anyone with warm skintones or warm tones hair or golden flecks in their eyes. Great color for summer. It's not a sheer tint of red, it's not bold striking red - it's just warm red goodness. I LOVE luster formula Mac lipsticks and this is no exception. It's more pigmented than some. the color might vary depending on how pigmented your lips are - but I'm sure it will work for anyone who likes warm lip colors!!

I use this color everyday. Everyday. Really great crease color or transition color for fair/light skin. I also love this for a "no makeup look" because it can give my eye definition without being as warm as Modelette or as dark/obvious as Cork or Wedge. ((cork and wedge work better for night time looks for me)) I like this shade because it's hard to mess up - you have to build the pigment - which is great for me - since I have a tendency to be heavy handed. :)

Brows -MAC - Eye Brows Crayon in Fling

I don't know how many times I have repurchased this beauty. Great color, great product, great value, and counts as a B2M empty. Sweet. Lasts me about 3-4 months of daily use. Love the color. My hair is naturally strawberry blonde and this works with my brows - doesn't make them ashy - doesn't make them orange. I really think that this shade works well with anyone's natural tones. If you have darker hair - try the shade lingering.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope Oil-Free SPF
ktdetails 5/3/2011 3:59:00 PM
Absorbs quickly, leaves my face luminous but not greasy. Wish this was a physical instead of chemical sunscreen. Wears well under makeup. Love this over my Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Face Mist. Wish they had a tinted version - the shade of Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk shade 2... it would make my morning routine even faster! I keep trying to use physical sunscreens rated at spf 30 under my makeup - but those give my face a white cast and affect how my makeup looks and wears - this Hope Oil Free SPF 30 does not. So I will continue to use it. Good stuff. $38 for 2oz at Sephora / Nordstrom / Macy's-- it's expensive ------ but it's like $45 on QVC and then you have to pay $5 shipping - So save yourself $12 and don't order it from QVC. Wish this had a pump instead of a tube with a huge opening. Sometimes the product gets crusty around the opening by the time you want to use it the next morning.

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
ktdetails 5/2/2011 5:35:00 PM
Deep black pigmentation. ONLY Separates and Defines. Adds NO volume or length to my lashes. Cool brush - but I find that the formula leaves tiny spherical clumps in the brush and therefore on my lashes. Weird. Mediocre staying power - seems to disappear thru the day. Will not repurchase.

HG. I've found it. This product that gives my fine, thin, limp hair some texture, body and volume, grip and memory - and best of all - I can just air dry my hair with this product in it - which I NEVER do. My hair - if left to air dry and sometimes even when I blowdry- will fall flat - my layers look horrible, I have no natural wave, it's flat and fine. This stuff is amazing. (it makes my hair look like I have that Drew Barrymore natural wave - and when you have straight hair and don't want to spend your morning curling/damaging my hair - this is amazing! It's meant to be worked into damp hair - and then either air dried or used with a diffuser. (if you round brush this out - you get just great volume and grip and memory.) Figuring out how much or how little you need for your hair - has a slight learning curve - but after 3 uses - I know how much I need and where to put it and let me tell you it makes my 2nd and 3rd day hair look outstanding!!!! I could never get to 3rd day hair without it looking like a grease ball - even with dry shampoo. Getting it to your roots - is key to a natural lift - but working it into your ends and layers really helps to define waves. Scrunch your hair a bit as it dries to help the areas that you want to really have a wave. I think that this product works amazing on my collar bone length layered hair. If you use to much - it can get crunchy - but as the product dries and as you handle your hair is softens - it so amazing! This makes my hair have hold, body and soft waves - no greasy head. I FREAKING LOVE THIS STUFF. Start out with a less than you think you need - work it in to your hands (it can feel very glue like at first) - you can always go back for more product if you need to WATCH THIS VIDEO to learn out to use it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNIkHioOnHA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMxJ5ccR0Lg&feature=autoplay&list=ULtHxURw_H5xE&index=10&playnext=12 or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Iyy1xkJsg&feature=autoplay&list=ULtHxURw_H5xE&index=12&playnext=14

Eyeliner -MAC - Molasses Pearlglide
ktdetails 9/22/2010 12:39:00 AM
I like this eyeliner. I expected it to be like Stubborn Brown Powerpoint - but it's definitely different. On my fair skin - Molasses looks like a warm black (and unless I smudge it around - I don't see the gold shimmer - but if I take a pencil brush to it - I see the a very elegant looking shimmer.) where as Stubborn Brown more obviously looks like a dark brown. Because I'm so fair and my lashes are practically blonde - I really have to work eyeliner pencils in between my lashes so that I don't see the skin in between each lash. When I do this with powerpoint liners - I have a really hard time getting the liners off at the end of the day. With the Molasses pearl glide liner - I was able to get my lashline clean with relative ease. This is creamy and pigmented and glides on smoothly. It hasn't transferred to my upper lid - which tends to happen to me - since I have have always had heavy upper lids. I'm pretty impressed. I wish that these were permanent. Molasses and Petrol Blue - for sure.
