Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Time Zone Night

WIN! A little background on my skin: it has periods of extreme oiliness (like fry up bacon on my face oily) and dessert dry. After dealing with a bout of extreme dryness around the chin and temples of my forehead, I decided it was time to invest in an effective night time cream (Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation wasn't providing enough night time moisture). I can't exactly tell you how long I've been using it, but so far I'm about half way through the pot. Within the first week of using this moisturizer, my dry patches were gone. From then on I've noticed a considerable difference in the plumpness and texture of my skin. The cream feels luxurious and doesn't leave me feeling oily or heavy. My face completely absorbs the product. I only use it at night time (over a 5% aqueous base benzoyl perxoide) and there is no balling up. I also use it on top of my eyelids and underneath, it doesn't cause stinging or irritation on those delicate parts of my skin. There is definitely a lavendar fragrance, but I don't mind it at all. My skin is highly reactive to new products (read angry red pimple explosion) but this moisturizer hasn't made me break out at all. It's a jar packaging, although a pump would be convenient, I can live with it. The perks of a jar include being able to scrap out the very last bit of product. It's a very pretty jar though, a gold cap with a pretty deep blue shade container. Despite the steep price tag, i WOULD purchase this again. I love it and now only save the Ole Henriksen Sheer transformation for my day time moisturizer.

Toners -Equate - Rejuvenating Toner

This product is GREAT and the price tag is even better. I've been using this product for the last 5 months and the results include: cleaner looking and feeling skin (no more black heads on my nose), smoother, skin, brightened complexion, helps with exfoliating the flakies I get periodically. I'm very prone to break outs and this toner caused no redness, itching, or pimples on my skin. There is no scent, and my skin feels refreshed after using it (morning and night). It does leave a slight film, however it dissipates quickly...then your skin is nice and prepped for whatever product you use next...whether is be moisturizer or a serum or acne medicine. The packaging is great. It's a very tiny hole at the top of the bottle, so it doesn't spill all over the place. It's a screw on top, which I also am a fan of (as opposed to a flimsy flip lid). I always have an extra bottle in my cabinet, because I don't want to go a day without it. Without a doubt, yes I would purchase it. Edit 02/18/2013-- WOW, still in love with this product, and after many months of daily use, it is still delivering the results I LOVE. Unfortunately, I am on my last bottle (it's a brand new bottle) and when I went to Wal Mart to look stock up on it, they didn't have it anymore! Are they discontinuing this product? If so, any alternatives?

Skincare - Face -Ole Henriksen - Sheer Transformation Creme

I'm currently on my 3rd jar. It took me a while to warm up to this product. After the first jar I didn't notice any huge improvements in my skin. I figured I'd switch back to cerave (a more affordable choice) after a week of using it my skin had broken out in cystic acne on my cheeks and my neck was flushed and warm to the touch. I bought another jar of the sheer transformation and it helped my skin get back to normal. I enjoy the consistency. It's very light-weight and absorbs almost instantly. It doesn't make my skin feel heavy or oily. I'm prone to break outs and this products doesn't aggravte or cause any acne for me. I'm not a fan of the packaging but I can live with it. I think this moisturizer is best suited for oily skin. If you have dry skin I don't think this would provide enough relief. I'll continue to purchase this (despite the price tag) because I like the way it makes my skin feel and it doesn't break me out.

This product dried out a huge cystic pimple on my eyebrow in 6 days. I think that's pretty impressive. Usually, when my cystic acne flares up they linger around for weeks, even up to a month. Yes, it's made the spot extremely dry. But i'll take that over a raging, angry red lump.I've had greater success with this over benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and even retin-a. The top of the product is pretty wide and it distributes a lot of product if I attempt to put it on a cotton ball, so i just spot treat with a q-tip. I use it undiluted on spots, but if you have sensitive skin make sure to mix it with water to avoid irritation.

Treatments -Ole Henriksen - Invigorating Night Gel

After doing some research, I decided to try a product with glycolic acid. ( :P ) I LOVE THIS STUFF! I've been using it for about a month, and I'm loving the results so far. I use it only once a day, at night. I enjoy the gel texture and it smooths easily over the skin. I don't experience any tingling upon application. My skin doesn't have that tight, on the brink of cracking feeling to it when i use this. The scent is a little on the peculiar side, kind of a zesty, sour (citric like) smell. It's not a lingering scent, so I don't mind it. Also if you use the right amount, it won't get sticky. I am not a fan of the packaging, I use a q-tip to get the product out. Sometimes I end up plopping too much out, and I don't want to put the it back in the jar. What if it contaminates the rest of the jar? As for results, the overall texture of my skin keep getting better and better by the day. Also the stubborn, little flesh colored bumps in between my eye brows are disappearing. It's virtually wiped out all the little white heads on my chin underneath my bottom lip. I still have a few blackheads across my nose, but not nearly as much before using this product. I still get the occasional pimple, but since this gel has improved the overall health of my skin the larger pimples i do get are gone within a few a days as opposed to a few weeks. I would definitely buy this again! My skin glows with this :) Edit 5/3/2012: After a few months this stopped working for me. I had a cystic acne flare up, and this didn't help it very much. Still a great product, it managed to get rid those pesky, flesh colored bumps in between my eyebrows. Not changing the rating, because it did improve my overall texture. I just needed to switch to something to address my current skin issues.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - advantage oil-free Acne Moisturizer

I've been getting these little bumps in between my eyebrows and on the sides of my nose and thought a product with salicylic acid would help, so I purchased this. I've used it for 3 days. I now have 6 very large, swollen bumps underneath my skin. They're quite painful and bothersome. Actually two bumps on the right side of my nostril have conglomerated into one big, very painful lump. No, I will not repurchase this.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Facial Moisturizing Lotion - AM SPF 30

i really like that it's spf 30. The pump is also very convenient. I apply 2-3 pumps on my face. I love the way it makes my skin feel...hydrated without being greasy or sticky feeling...i enjoy the consistency, not too thick or too watery, so it's easy to spread on the face. Also, this product has not caused any new pimples or exacerbated any redness. Will purchase again

Toners -Shiseido - Pureness Balancing Softener alcohol-free

I have been using this in conjunction with the Shiseido pureness foaming cleanser a little over 2 weeks and both have healed my skin! I was suffering from a very stubborn and painful flare-up and decided to go back to the Shiseido pureness line after 3+ months of my stubborn and persistent acne...and I'm so glad i did. After washing my face I put about 2 pumps of the softener in my palm, rub it in between my hands and pat all over my face...even on my sensitive eye part area. I tried using a cotton ball at first, but i like the direct face method better. My skin is instantly soothed, smoother, and softer. I also feel like my moisturizer glides on a lot better. I don't think this is designed to unclog pore and take care of blackheads or anything along those line, which i don't mind...but it helps the overall health of your skin, which is what I like. It goes fast though..I've already gone half way through a bottle in 2 weeks. However, I love it so much and the results it gave that I actually just came back from Sephora with another bottle. I don't want my skin to be without it! It's pricey but worth it. Edit 1/13/12-- been using this product twice daily....still loving it!

I love this stuff!! instant comfort for dry lips. Also my hands get extremely dry due to constantly washing my hands, and I slather it on my hands before I sleep. Much softer and younger looking hands. This is also a great product for when tattoos are in their healing period. Relieves the itch! Definite great product would buy again.

Other -Crest - 3D Professional Effects White Strips

LOVE. I drink 2 cups of coffee a day and one cup of green tea and have smoked for 6 years a pack a day. ( recently quit in april of this year!) ... And these white strips are phenomenal! Great results....did not experience any sensitivity, and the advanced seal holds the strip to my teeth no problem. Also, I love that there isn't a strong peroxidey taste like in the flimsy old strips. I do wish the strips were a little bit longer in length....but other than that this product lives up to its name. Definitely worth the money, will buy again.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Antibacterial Gentle Cleansing Bar

Out of boredom I switched up my nightly beauty regimen and began using the Clinique 3 Kit system. I broke out in cystic acne along my jawline, cheeks, and even forehead (where I typically do not break out)! about 10+ pimples in total. I returned it, and began using this bar. It's been a week and a half and my skin is turning around! *PHEW* I enjoy the clean (medicinal, almost) scent. The lather is also nice. It helps to take your time to lather it extra well in your hands so you have a lot of suds to reduce the friction between your fingertips and face. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean. However, I would not recommend this for people with dry skin because it may exacerbate your dryness...that's why I gave it a two for packing as it advertises it's intended for dry skin. I've been using this with a daily benzoyl peroxide treatment. I believe the two products synergize and have been effective in improving my blemishes. Will buy again!

Skincare - Face -Clinique - 3 Step System

My night time regimen is the Dove beauty bar to wash my face and Retin-A. Nice and simple routine which produced good results. Out of boredom and impulse, I decided to use this Clinique 3 step kit. I broke out on my cheeks, jawline and forehead (typically never getting break outs there). I continued using the products, thinking "oh it gets worse before it gets better" I used it for about 3 weeks and couldn't take the irritation any longer. My skin was way less painful and red after I stopped. These product were way too harsh. My skin is still recovering from the damage. Definitely would not buy again.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

It has a thick consistency and one pump was enough for my entire face. The smell was fine. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. The pump is nice....BUT other than that this moisturizer was a disappointment. (The Aveeno body lotion is great though!) It left me greasy and irritated my face. I think it was the feverfew ingredient. Which is ironic because it's advertised as "ultra-calming". Upon initial application it felt fine, but an hour later it felt uncomfortable and itchy. I began using this as my day moisturizer while using the Clinique Dramatically Different Gel for my PM moisturizer. I used both for about 3 weeks. Both of these products wreaked havoc on my skin (inflamed cystic acne) and I had to start taking Doxycycline as a result. There has been a noticeable difference in my skin as soon as I stopped using these products.. My usual clear skin is on hiatus thanks to these products. Would not recommend this product to anyone, and would never have it anywhere near my face.

Cleansers -Shiseido - Pureness Deep Cleansing Foam

The great thing about this cleanser is you can really feel how clean your skin is afterwards. It melts away make up and dirt. I wouldn't use it around the gentle eye area though because of the beads. It made my skin feel a little too tight for my comfort, and I'm pretty oily! Anyways, it's nothing a good moisturizer won't take care of. It is true to its name Deep Cleansing Foam. It has a fresh scent, which is not overpowering. However, my skin has been breaking out, so I need a different cleanser to address those needs would buy again when acne issue is resolved. Edit 11/2/11--came back to this product because I felt like the cetaphil bar wasn't leaving my skin in the best condition....also paired the cleanser with the pureness softener...the combo of both products has calmed the reddness of my face immensely. Gonna stick to this product for a while! My face does feel squeaky clean after but the softener alleviates it Edit 11/10/11--it's been two weeks now since i've switched back to his cleansers and been using it twice daily...it has cleared my skin tremendously...changed to 5 lippies...love this.

Shampoo -Pureology - Pureology Hydrate Shampoo

I am overall pleased with this product. It's not like I experienced an instant change in my hair after one use (which I don't expect any product to). However after using a bottles worth I did notice that I didn't have that build up type of feeling with other shampoos. If you don't wash your hair every day (like me) you're gonna have to shampoo twice. With the first wash, the shampoo doesn't really lather but it will on the second wash. It's a very nice clean feeling, without it feeling TOO clarified. It's not a must have, but I would buy again if my budget for the month permitted.
