Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
krw134 3/31/2011 11:42:00 AM
I was so excited when I heard about this foundation, especially that it would have pink-toned shades. I found that Chanel shades in every other foundation formulation were just too yellow for me, or the lightest shades that were pink were too light. I am around NW20 in MAC, and the Chanel MA matched me with BR10 in VA. Color match was great, felt like nothing on skin, and the MA was nice enough to give me a sample to try it at home. I got about 3 days out of the blister pack sample and liked it enough to buy a full bottle. After wearing it for a few more days, I noticed that towards the end of the day my cheeks started feeling tight, like the alcohol in the foundation was sucking all the moisture out of my skin. I have combo skin but my cheeks aren't normally oily. I wear a thick moisturizer - Eucerin Q10 Sensitive Skin Creme - so I felt that should have taken care of the dryness. After 2 weeks of battling the dryness I returned VA, I couldn't take it. There was an alcoholy-floral scent to it, but I found it disappeared quickly and was not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, I did like the color match and feel of this foundation on skin - felt like nothing but had nice coverage. If you have dry or sensitive skin I would steer clear due to the high alcohol content. Some combo-skinned folks will wear this without any problems, I am not one of them. I guess Chanel foundations and I are not meant to be.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Organdi Rose 09
krw134 11/1/2010 11:45:00 AM
I originally purchased Mademoiselle, but it pulled too orange on my cool toned skin, so I exchanged it for this shade. Organdi Rose is everything I was hoping Mademoiselle would be - a perfect, rosy MLBB shade. I don't find the Rouge Coco formula hydrating at all, but they're not drying either. I usually layer lip balm under lipstick anyway, so it's not a dealbreaker. I would repurchase this shade in a heartbeat.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle 05
krw134 11/1/2010 11:37:00 AM
Tested this in store and it was love, a beautful rosey, MLBB color. I bought it immediately and couldn't wait to wear it. I don't know what I was thinking because the next several times I tried to wear this it pulled too orange. I ended up exchanging this for Organdi Rose, which is exactly the color I wanted Mademoiselle to be. Overall the formula is nice - I don't find them hydrating, but they're not drying either.

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Cupid
krw134 7/23/2010 11:01:00 AM
I picked up this blush during GWP time last fall at Macys. I was leaning toward Precious Posey but the MA steered me towards this color instead. On my NW20 & freckled skin, this blush is a soft, pretty pink with a teeny bit of shimmer - very pretty. The packaging is the typical silver Clinique packaging with the see-thru plastic bottom. Part of the plastic did break off exposing one of the hinge pins so I have to be careful when I open it. I like that they include a mirror, but I never use the brush they include. I would not repurchase because while it's pretty, it's kind of boring, and this is coming from someone who normally wears basic, boring colors.

Lipstick -Clinique - Long Last Lipstick - Beauty
krw134 7/23/2010 10:51:00 AM
Beauty is a really pretty neutral shade and looks nice with my somewhat pigmented lips. I agree with the review below who said it was peachy-pink in color. The formula is nice & creamy, but not terrible long-lasting despite the name. The packaging is in the typical Clinique silver tube, but the lid never seems to fully "snap" closed and the tube seems thinner, weigh-wise, than other Clinique lipsticks I have. Took points off for the packaging, but otherwise it's a lovely shade and I would repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Hypnotizing (Love Lace LE)
krw134 7/23/2010 10:46:00 AM
I love purples so when I saw swatches of this shade I knew I had to have it....and the fact that it was LE didn't help either! On me Hypnotizing is similar to Shale, but lighter and more shimmery. I always use an e/s base (TFSI) but I still get some fallout with this shadow. Overall it's a lovely color, but LE means no repurchase. It's going to take me a long time use it up anyway.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shale Eyeshadow
krw134 7/23/2010 10:41:00 AM
I don't know why I waited so long to pick this gem up. I love purple shadow with my blue eyes and Shale does not disappoint. On my fair skin it is a light greyish-purple. It doesn't make my eyes look bruised, which some purples can do, so another reason for me to love it. It'll take me forever to use it all up, but when I do I will certainly repurchase.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Style Snob [DISCONTINUED]
krw134 7/23/2010 10:36:00 AM
Picked this up at the CCO about a month ago and I love it. For some reason a lot of the pictures I saw of SS made it look more pinkish so I never bothered with it when it first came out. When I finally saw it at the CCO and tested it I was surprised it was not pink at all. Like others have said it seems to be a lighter version of Satin Taupe, which I also love. The Starflash formula is lovely too. I wish they would make these shadows perm, but until they do I might have to make a return trip to the CCO to pick up another one for backup - which I *never* do.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - High Impact Eyeshadow in Foxy
krw134 7/23/2010 10:32:00 AM
I had high hopes for Foxy since I've heard raves about it. It's a nice taupe in the pan but on me it takes on a weird reddish tinge. I always used an e/s primer (TFSI) but no matter what other shadows I try to pair it with it still looks awful. I generally like Clinique makeup products but their eyeshadows, which the exception of the cream shadows, are disappointing. They aren't soft & creamy like other brands and I feel like I have to dig with my brush to get enough packed on it. Sort of a PITA. Would not repurchase.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - A Kiss of Relief- SOS Lip Care
krw134 6/4/2009 3:00:00 PM
I was on the hunt for a moisturizing lip balm so I picked this up at CVS today. This has to be the worst lip balm I've ever used! A Kiss of Relief comes in a small, white, slant-tip tube. It is sort of thick and opaque white in the tube, and unfortunately that how it looks on my lips too. It feels like there is a layer of wax on my lips which I find gross. The scent is sort of perfumey and chemically at the same time, and it tastes terrible if you happen to lick your lips. There goes $3.50 into the trash can. I will never repurchase this crap.

Conditioner -L'Oreal - EverPure Moisture Conditioner
krw134 3/30/2009 3:41:00 PM
Picked up a trial set of the moisture line at Wal-Mart for $1 that included the shampoo, conditioner & a deep conditioning treatment. I've been using this for nearly a month now & love it. I have fine, straight, color treated hair that falls below my shoulders and this does a nice job of moisturizing my hair without weighing it down. I have been using salon brands exclusively for the last 4-5 years and get similar results from the EverPure line. Love the price point and wide availability too. Will definitely repurchase.

Lipstick -Clinique - High Impact Lip Colour SPF 15 - Nearly Violet
krw134 2/10/2009 11:05:00 AM
Love this lippie! I picked it up last fall during GWP time, and fell in love with it. In my opinion, the color seems very similar to NARS Dolce Vita lipstick. It's more moisturizing than DV, and about $10 cheaper. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Curling Mascara
krw134 2/10/2009 10:42:00 AM
I'm on day 3 of trying this new mascara and it's going back to Macy's. I was excited to try it, especially since I love Clinique's mascaras, but I'm not loving this one. The SA told me that it's more like Lash Power than High Impact, and felt the High Impact in the name was a bit misleading. I've used both High Impact and Lash Power, and liked both, but this is nothing like those two. I found HI Curling to apply very unevenly and it dries so fast making it impossible to get an eyelash comb through after a few seconds. If find this more difficult to remove than the regular Lash Power, and this mascara seems to irritate my eyes more. I don't normally curl my lashes, but I don't see any noticeable difference when I use this versus a regular mascara like Naturally Glossy. Overall, thumbs down from me.
