Sunscreen -La Roche Posay - Anthelios XL 50 Creme Fondante PPD 25

tried the sunscreen fluid version, but it left a deathly white cast after application, and it was a little too dry for comfort (i use retin-a nightly). having read some reviews about the melt-in cream version, i had so much wanted to love it, but it left me shiny after use, even when i piled on foundation and powder, the shine still shows, and it gets worse into the day; four hours down the road, you get shine plus oil, AND dirty, oxidized makeup. if you were to use it alone, after some activity, the sunscreen will somehow magically "transform" into beads of perspiration, you literally have to wipe it off, blotting doesn't help. sorely disappointed. only redeeming factor? it doesn't leave a white cast. I'll probably use it on other body parts apart from face.

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Surf Spray

had mixed feelings about the surf spray prior to getting it because of the reviews i saw over here. but decided to get it anyway since b+b products never failed me, and im glad i did. i think the spray works best on second day hair, ive near shoulder length wavy hair, and i usually use it after prep. just spray from mid-length to ends (i skip roots because im not too keen on residue buildup on scalp), tousle and scrunge hair, leave it as it is and youre done! it's easy, takes only 3 minutes of your time, and the breeze/ wind just makes it better, gives it the tousled look. so if youre having an extremely bad hair day, and your hair isnt going the way you want it to, use the spray; the messier and unkempt the better!

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Brilliantine

ive used tons of leave-on conditioners/ serums, this works the best to date. it isnt exactly cheap, but one bottle goes a loooong way, so definitely good value for your money. i have slightly wavy and sometimes frizz+unmanageable hair, things got worst when i went for a color job, then a perm job the month after, but this product made it all okay. after washing and towel-drying hair, i usually squeeze out a little product, even out using palms and use my fingers to go through hair, in that way, product stays on better. blow-dry, and hair becomes healthily-shiny. i just wish brilliantine comes with spf. in any case, it's still an amazing product.

Shampoo -Davines - Nounou Shampoo
rated 2 of 5

scents can be deceiving, thats to sum up what i really think about this shampoo. i got this product after a dye-job with a salon ive been with for years, they have pretty good products overall, but i must say this shampoo is one big flop. the only redeeming factor? it smells heavenly, which was why i got it in the first place, but thats about what there is to it. this shampoo does not lather well at all, plenty of shampoo and water later, still no lather. hair doesnt feel clean even after shampoo-ing twice, felt as if i had used up one-third of the entire bottle though. on top of that, hair doesnt feel incredibly soft or exceptionally manageable after wash. for that price i paid, might as well get redken's all soft shampoo instead. works a million times better. oh but to be fair, davines' nounou conditioner turned out just fine.

Crème -Shu Uemura - Nobara [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5

despite being disappointed with the packaging, i must say this creme blush can work as an amazing foundation+concealer. ive heard so much raves about nobara, so decided to give it a try, im most most impressed with the fact the it conceals blemishes and acne scars well. but having combination skin, my t-zone gets really oily towards mid-day, and like blotting once is not enough, ive to blot again around 4,5 in the p.m. also, i usually apply this with these triangular sponges from shu uemura, so this product isnt exactly travel-friendly, since you always have to lug a sponge around. if youre looking for foundation that covers well, this might be what youre looking for. but for convenience and for oily skin, this is a no-no. but that said, i probably will still buy this product, but only use on certain areas (definitely not t-zone) as a fantastic concealer.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
rated 5 of 5

ive tried blushers from brands suited for asian skin like shu uemura and raved-about korean brand vidi vici, but nothing comes close to this. have been using nars orgasm for more than a year, and it has served me well. unlike other blushers that dont stay on for very long (humidity), or some turning a darker+dirtier shade (oxidation) couple of hours after application, this product has amazing staying-on powers, and gives a natural healthy glow whole day long. a little goes a long way, still hanging on to my first palette. if youre on the fair side like i am, you probably will love nars orgasm as much as i do!
