I have to add my raves for this product! I absolutely LOVE this, and I am serious when I say this is my replacement for the pricey Dior Show, which I thought was the best thing to happen to my eyes ever...but this is just as nice, and I'm saving an arm and a leg on makeup at the same time. I was soo skeptical because I haven't used drugstore mascara for years, but it lengthens and defines and gives my lashes volume all at the same time. And it doesn't smudge at all on me, where Show did sometimes. While I must say that Show adds a touch more volume and drama, I am completely impressed with this, and really don't have a need to buy Show again, except for the waterproof version which i got for my wedding. :) Anyways, this is a HUGE winner and I encourage you all to go out and try this. You won't be dissapointed!
Lip Treatments -Neutrogena - Moistureshine Tinted Lip Balm [DISCONTINUED]
kristenb 4/30/2005 11:52:00 AM
I love these little drugstore finds. I have been on Accutane for 5 months and my lips are so dry that any lipsticks or glosses just "ball" up on my lips and make them drier. I was so excited to try these and for the last month or so they have been my go-to lip product. And about the only thing that now looks decent on my peeling lips. I can attest to the fact that these are very moisturizing, have lots of pigment and have a nice shine. They also wear fairly decently. I wish the tubes were bigger and a bit prettier looking, but I am not complaining. I think I would buy these still if they came in toothpaste tubes, thats how great they work for me. So far, I have collected almost all of them and my faves are Fresh and Warm...too pretty!
This is my absolute favorite shower gel and product from Lush. The smell is simply divine--tome, it's like white chocolate and cloves. I love that the scent lingers for long after I step out of the shower, and it leaves my bathroom smelling luscious. My only complaint is that the need to make a lotion and perfume to match. I will never be without this :)
Lip Gloss -Flirt - Squeeze Me Super Shiny Lipgloss in Radical Raspberry
kristenb 4/30/2005 11:38:00 AM
I am a lip gloss girl. I cannot reist buying another gloss even though I have a drawer full. However, I needed a quick pick-me-up and came across this gorgeous true raspberry color. I thought these wouuld be sheer, like L'Oreal Cj's and Lancome JT's but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the colors once on the lips are very true to what they appear in the packaging! I am a PPP/blonde/green eyes and this just makes my features really "pop." I've been looking high and low for a very shiny berry color with shimmer and this is it! I even love this more than my Nars baby doll. I think the staying power is great--once the shimmer and shine wears off it leaves a pretty raspberry stain. I also love the scent. The only "con" so far for me is that the packaging is a little flimsy and I hope it doesn't break on me or leak into my purse. But I am really enjoying this shade and its become my fave--even over some of my Mac lipglasses. Simply gorgeous! And I will def. be purchasing more shades in the future!
My latest find at the Cosmetic Company Outlet...and I have to say, I really love this lippie. I almost didn't buy this, because I thought it might be too sheer on my lips. But I was wrong...on me, this is a lovely light lippie with the slightest pink undertones. Totally shiny and sheer, but not frosty, this was a pleasant surprise. This would look great with a lip liner or without. So cute for summer.
Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Non-Oily Eye Makeup Remover Pads
kristenb 7/21/2004 9:30:00 AM
I love these things...they're so much more convenient than bottle eye m/u removers and travel so much better. They also don't drip or get into the eye like some bottled cleansers do. They're relatively economical, esp when you can hit one of those BOGOF sales...I only use one pad per eye, sometimes less depending on how much eye makeup I'm wearing that day. The only thing I would change about these are the packaging. The little "pads" stick together and once they're peeled apart, they never lay straight in the package. I feel like when I go to get one the next day, they aren't as "moist" anymore. I would make the package one where one pad is automatically dispensed at a time, no pulling apart required. otherwise---this is a BRILL product.
Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Shake Triple Swirl- Whipped Vanilla Cream
kristenb 6/29/2004 6:28:00 PM
Why me? This sucks....only buy if you like to walk around looking like you're from the Adams family, showing off white lips. WHITE! Who would have thought that such a pretty combo of light pink, light brown and white would come out like this? Im a cadaver!!!!
Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Shining Kisses Shimmering Lip Gloss in Eva
kristenb 6/29/2004 6:17:00 PM
I admit..I bought this because 1) I love pink glosses 2) it was on sale for $4.99 during the semi-annual sale and 3) it had a bubble blower on one end! Too cute! In any case, there are MUCH better glosses out there. It hardly shows the color on my lips, and hardly the sparkle either. All in all, not bad for $4.99 but won't be repurchasing unless I suddenly HAVE to have this.
Eye Shadow -Lumene - Star Set Single Eyeshadow - Summer Tone 111
kristenb 6/29/2004 6:13:00 PM
For under $5. you cannot go wrong with these shadows. Summer Tone was my very first Lumene purchase, and I will be looking into this line more since I've been so pleased! Its the perfect pink-rosy eye shaodw..lasts without creasing and really brightens up green eyes. I love this! Its soft, velvety and shimmery. Im glad to see its part of the regular color line...I just wish Lumene would add more colors!
Blush -Almay - Nearly Naked Touch Pad Liquid Blush
kristenb 6/29/2004 10:07:00 AM
I love this product! First, let me just say, that I have very oily skin, and I have a really tough time working with anything other than powder blush--my skin hates cream blush sticks, and gels or stains always seem to smear and streak over my foundation. I bought this in Berry Nude. I love this because it applies evenly, doesn't streak or smear over my foundation, and is super long-wearing...in fact, I put it on in the morning on a hot sweaty day and even wore it to workout. And hours and hours later, the color stayed true. I love the idea of this product. It is such a natural flush--on my PPP skin, the berry nude showed up a pretty, flirty flushed pink shade. The colors don't stain your fingers and they are easy to blend. I definitely recommend trying this out. I took off a lippie for the price...the only drawback in my book. At almost $10 for a drugstore product, I think its too much. I'm going to wait for the sale...but these are definitely way greater than i imagined!
Lipstick -Maybelline - Forever Metallics Metal-Shine Lip Color - High Pitch Pink
kristenb 6/28/2004 10:30:00 AM
I like the shade--a super shiny, super light bubblegum metallic pink...it suits my PPP complexion and satisfied my yearning for yet another pink lippie/gloss. Cons: I don't like the pencil-type lippie, I feel that the point always gets messed up when I try to sharpen it, and I lose too much product. But, Its a cute little shade that I bought on a whim. Would repurchase if I use it up.
First, the pros: The colors of the Over the Rainbow trip are gorgeous--shimmery pastel pink, shimmery pastel green and shimmery pastel yellow. They look adrobale together or alone. Secondly, the idea is a very cool one. Either use one or two or three shades to blend and give your eyes a sheer wash of color, while making them look awake. Ok, this does work. However, the cons: It takes a lot of finger swiping to get the color to show up at all on your lids (and Im PPP so if it doesn't show on me, darker skins beware...); they creased on me after an hour or so (trying to figure out how to stop this) and last of all--there is not enough product in this to justify the rather pricey drugstore price--almost $10 USD. If you have some $$ to spare, or happen to see these on sale, pick one up and try it out. Im waiting for another sale before I take the splurge again. (I was just so excited to finally find these!)
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Cool Effect Shadow in Frosty Pink
kristenb 6/28/2004 10:23:00 AM
I found this at the $1 store, and, since I am on an everything pink kick, thought I would try it out. Its been years since I tried the Cool Effect colors (I know they have been discontinued) but let me just say, I was plesantly surprised. No wateriness in mine, just staying power and a nice shimmery pink finish. Love this!
Found this at my local Rite Aid store and thought I would try it out, considering I am a sucker for anything glittery and pink! Its a leftover from the LE spring collection but was perfectly brand new. The color is a pretty, sheerish pink with major gold undertones It is gorgeous! Contemplating snapping up another bottle before it's sold out completely!
Found this on a whim at a dollar store and now I'm itching to get back and buy a few more! While I thought this would be a bit darker on my lips, it turns out a sweet, silvery, pinky-rose on me. Its absolutely gorgeous, And the staying power is really great too. The mirror on the side, yes, is a bit tacky...but I can overlook that definitely. This color is great.
