Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
kpgn 11/2/2012 1:23:00 PM
At first I loved this product. I got some samples, they were fabulous. My skin looked almost airbrushed. I bought a bottle, 3.0, the shade worked perfectly and I was in heaven. But as soon as the weather changed, and the heaters went on, it stopped working. It showed EVERY pore on my face, and I've never had a problem with pores before. Had to return to Ulta.

Foundations -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Glow Sheers SPF 30
kpgn 4/28/2007 8:41:00 AM
After 5 years of BE minerals, I wanted to try something different. I'm 49, and need some coverage to cover rosacea. This works wonderfully, as long as I use concealer first. There's a great healthy glow to my skin, and I don't feel like I'm wearing makeup. I wouldn't wear it to work, but I put it on first thing in the morning and feel ok going to the grocery store, etc. The SPF is great: 30! The coverage is very sheer, and the look is completely natural. I bought light; in BE I wear fairly light.

Lipstick -Almay - Almay Hydracolor Lipstick
kpgn 3/26/2007 10:30:00 PM
This lipstick is a great idea gone bad. First, everyone is right about the color. I found a sample of 'dusk' in a magazine, so that's what I bought. ALL OF THE COLORS LOOK THE SAME IN THE TUBE. It's ricidulous...you just can't see through the opaque tube. Second, the smell-definitely a paint smell when you first put it on, but it does go away. Third, it's very pigmented, I thought. It didn't dry my lips, but it wasn't very hydrating either. The color is a nice neutral pinky beige, similar to Rimmel Paradise and Birthday Suit, but lasts longer. Great idea, Almay, but you need to go back to the drawing board.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Loose Powder Eyeshadow
kpgn 9/30/2005 12:32:00 PM
I bought a dozen of these samples (1/4 teaspoon) for $3.00 each on ebay, and they are fabulous! I had spent $12.00 on one at the BE store, and believe me, I will NEVER use up that much shadow. I bet the samples last me years. Anyway, it gives me a chance to have fun. I mix them and use as eyeliner, and the combos with the colors are great. I don't find the mess to be much of a problem, but I am very careful with the little jars. On me, they really last. And if you buy them on ebay and then drop one, all you've lost is 3 bucks! But: has anyone else had a problem with their eyes? I can't decide if it's allergies/sinus that is making my eyes water, or if it's these. Usually nothing bothers my eyes, but I can't even wear contacs lately. I use these every day, even if it's just a little Chenille to brighten my lids around the house.

Lipstick -Trucco - Lipstick in Honesty
kpgn 8/27/2005 10:39:00 AM
This is my second Trucco lipstick; I found it for under $4.00 on ebay, so it was a steal! The color is darker than I had expected: On me, (MAC NC 20) it's a deep berry. It's not at all neutral on me, and I wouldn't wear it during the day. But for evening, it's great. Plus, it lasts well--even after eating, it looked like I had lipstick on. Actually, it's very much like MAC Viva Glam IV, but without as much shimmer. There's a very light shimmer to Honesty; it's really a beautiful color. Like others have mentioned, there's a faint odor of something chemical, but it fades within minutes. Texture is great, too-it's very smooth and silky.

Lipstick -Trucco - Super Natural (sheer)
kpgn 8/24/2005 12:53:00 PM
Thanks again, MUA, for recommending a lipstick I'd never have bought! I got these on ebay after reading about them here; I paid less than $4.00 each for them! This is a great lipstick, very glossy and sheer, but with a hint of gold. It stays on pretty long for a glossy lipstick, and the color is great with a tan: dark goldish bronze, but not too bronzy. Can't wait to try more.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Vanilla Sugar
kpgn 8/21/2005 2:21:00 AM
great neutral color for eyelids, brightens but doesn't make you seem 'made-up'. It's very pale, this color, good for covering the lid even up to the brow, just to wake up the eye. I guess I use it almost as a base for eyeshadow, if I'm going dramatic. But if not, for day use, something brown in the crease is all you need with this. As for the packaging....I am now buying all of my BE shadows on Ebay. For 2 to 3 bucks, you can get 1/4 teaspoon samples. It doesnt sound like alot, but it's so much easier than playing with those big jars. And I bet my samples will last months. Like others have said, those big jars are so easy to spill.

Bronzers -L'Oreal - Glam Bronze All-Over Loose Powder in Rose Dusk
kpgn 8/21/2005 2:08:00 AM
Ladies, run right now to Target and get this on sale for 5 bucks before it is gone! I read in 'O' that a shimmery pink cheek will be in this fall, and was looking for something cheap before I hit the big money makeup. With this, I don't need anything else! The powder is very light, very shimmery, but also very controllable, so you don't have to worry about wearing too much. I use it with my Nars blush brush to give a glow to my cheeks. I'm not a fan of drugstore makeup, but if it works, I'll use it. Go get this now--the pink color will be in all fall.

Lip Gloss -Bourjois - Effet 3D - Rose Angelic 5
kpgn 8/17/2005 11:31:00 AM
MUA convinced me to try these glosses...at 47, I have to be very careful about gloss. But this particular gloss is great! It's pinky, not at all pale on me, and has a slight gold shimmer. But best of all, it LASTS. (I don't mean through eating, I just mean through the evening talking and drinking.) My lips don't feel dry, and Im not constantly running to put it on again. My only complaint is that I have to use a mirror to reapply because of the brush applicator. Oh, my other complaint is that I only bought one of these! I wish I had tried a few more colors.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Dare
kpgn 8/17/2005 11:23:00 AM
Because I love the Rimmel lipsticks, and because this color was featured on the cover of Lucky this month, I figured I'd try it. It's not my normal color, it's a little too dark, but it's absolutely gorgeous for night. On me, it's not quite red. There's more of an orange/coral background, yet somehow it's not at all garish. Like this whole line, the texture is wonderful-very light and glossy. For the money, you can't beat this line.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Pearl
kpgn 8/14/2005 11:01:00 AM
Wow, I love this blush! The makeup artist in the BE store tried it on me, and I bought it on the spot. It's a very subtle color, too pearly for daytime but perfect for evening and my job. The color is not too intense, just a wash of subtle pinky-brown, with a glow. My daughters complimented me-what more can you ask of a blush?

Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Venetian
kpgn 8/14/2005 10:44:00 AM
I don't know why, but this lipgloss just doesn't last on me AT ALL! I mean, it came off after drinking some water...I don't expect lip glosses to have much lasting power, but this is ridiculous. Plus, it left a red ring around the outside of my lips while wearing off in the middle. Not attractive at all! On the pro side, it IS a beautiful color, a blue-red without any fuchsia tones at all on me. For the ten minutes that it stays on, it's quite beautiful. However, at work I can only run to a side area to reapply, and the applicator makes that difficult. It worked great with a mirror, but I don't have time while I'm working to use one. So...won't repurchase, won't even try another color in this line.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Syrup
kpgn 8/3/2005 5:11:00 PM
This is the absolutely perfect MLBB color for me! It's kind of mauve, with no nude undertones. Like others have said, the Lustres have a great texture and a great feel. I was looking for a nude, and the MAC salesperson suggested this; I would never have picked it up because it looks so pink in the tube. But she noticed that my lips are more mauve than anything, and she was right--it's the perfect daytime color. No good for wearing in low light, but that's ok, there's plenty of other options for that...Anyway, great color, great texture--I love it!

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Application Face Brush
kpgn 7/28/2005 9:02:00 PM
Ok, this is the first BE product I can complain about. Beware: The bristles on this brush will start to fall out after a few short weeks. Mine area coming out in clumps! I liked the brush just fine until now; I'm desperate to find a good replacement! It applied the BareMinerals powders beautifully, but now there are hairs all over my face when I use it. Yuck!

Lips -Eyeko - Minty Fat Balm for Lips
kpgn 7/25/2005 5:48:00 PM
I like this balm alot. the color is a sheer, opalescent pink color that looks almost white in the tube. i think it moisterizes my lips, and the texture is good. i just don't think this is great enough to give it a 5, but it's good. i would probably repurchase this, but ob ebay because i got mine there for $5, and the regular price is $11. the packaging is ADORABLE, but there's not that much in the tube...only about an inch, but maybe that's because it's so fat!
