Skincare - Body -LUSH - Lovely Jubblies Breast Cream
kpennock 4/21/2013 4:11:00 PM
This cream is divine. It smells very floral and feminine. I don't really need it on my "jubblies" BUT it works great on your butt, thighs...even works awesome on puffy undereyes. It has plenty of uses I just wish it wasn't so expensive for such a small jar. I love it though. I will probably buy it again :)
I truly like this product. Is it a miracle worker? No. However it does wonders on those cystic acne spots or those pimples that just haven't fully come to the surface yet. It will keep your zit from fully forming and help the irritation and redness disappear. It does help shorten the life of a full blown breakout but don't expect it to make your whitehead disappear overnight. This is on the pricey size but you only need a tiny bit.
I love this bubbleroon! It is on the smaller size compared to some bubble bars you could get but this smells amazing, gives you come bubbles, dissolves well, doesn't leave any staining on your tub or skin and the smell lingers for a bit afterwards. I also noticed my skin is smoother after soaking in the tub with this in it and it is so calming. I break mine in 2 and get 2 baths out of it since I have a small tub but it is worth every penny. I am hoping to pick a few more of these up soon!!!!
Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
kpennock 4/21/2013 4:02:00 PM
This is one of my top 2 powder highlighters of all time. The product is expensive but it will LAST FOREVER. It takes so little to give you the perfect glint of shimmer on your cheekbones. It has no scent, it is pretty fool proof...you cant really scrape off too much product with your brush and make yourself look instantly like a disco ball like some highlighters will. I can only say how perfect it is on pale skin like mine (NC15 ish for reference)....it might look ashy on a darker tone but I couldn't really say. This is a must have for all you pale people out there though!!!!!!!!!
I really love orange/corals/peach colors on my lips. I saw this one and had to give it a go. I would say on me it looks like a slightly lighter and truer orange than morange but still really pretty. The ONLY problem I found with this lippie is that it clings to every tiny dry spot on your lips and emphasizes it. You can put a lip balm under it or a gloss over it and it helps a little but then it gets a little goopy looking and I just don't like that. So my best advice is to wear this EXFOLIATE your lips then put on a thin layer of balm and let it sink in THEN do your lip liner and lipstick. It is beautiful and I will make it work I just wish the formula was better.
This smells great at first. However, I noticed that it fades really fast. It fades faster than my cheap body spray. I still like it for just throwing something on when I am running out for an hour or two but if i want something to last most of the day/night...THIS ISN'T IT. That being said I did rate it a 3 because it does smell lovely at first. I haven't had any trouble with it smelling like cough drops or alcohol as it dries down. It smells like marachino cherry ice cream on me. This would be a good perfume for maybe a teenager or younger person wanting a perfume but the price is high. Even the rollerball is gonna cost you 20 dollars. I like the lil rollerball I have but even if they repromote this..I will have to pass.
Ok so I LOVE the smell of this product. However, after using it for a few weeks I had to stop. It broke me out SO bad. It is good in a pinch as it didn't break me out right away but with continued use my skin got worse and worse and it completely disappeared within a few days of stopping using it. This is odd to me too because I DON'T break out easily with new products (and this one is supposed to have acne FIGHTING ingredients in it) and my skin is not sensitive to much except like menthol type products. I switched over to the Michael Todd line and I like that toner a ton better because this one still has the denatured alcohol in it and that is a known drying agent....I wanted to love this because it smells divine but sadly I just won't use it unless I am desperate and have nothing else.
I bought this on a whim since you couldn't see it in stores but I am so glad I did. It is a strange colors like this pinkish coral that when blended out is more orange but has a slightly purple duotone in some lights. I really like it. I wish it was just a little more pigmented as it can go on a little sheer but it is buildable so no worries. It looks amazing with blue eyes and has that lovely satin looking finish that is slightly shiny but still not over the top. This is definitely a good shade if you are bold enough to rock the pink/coral eyeshadow.
I like this serum. It is creamy and gentle, it absorbs very fast, works with all my moisturizers and is moisturizing enough you could probably use it on its own. A small amount of product goes a LONG way. The only downsides I find to it are it is kind of expensive and it smells very floral. Scents don't usually bother me much and do not irritate my skin but this definitely smells like my grandma lol. Now I love my grandma so that doesn't make me upset but if you can't handle the smell as you put it on you may want to try something else. The smell does go away very fast. I think it lingers on my skin for MAYBE 45 seconds so it is not a factor for me but those who are hypersensitive...be advised. I will repurchase this. I just got another couple of their serums to try out but when those sample sizes are through I will probably repurchase this one right away because it has been working for me for over a month no question.
Masks -Michael Todd True Organics - Kaolin Clay Detoxifying Facial Mask
kpennock 4/17/2013 5:28:00 AM
I like this product. I will say it is unlike any mask I have tried that being said here are the pros and cons of it in my book. Pros: 1. Really cleans your face and does its job 2. Pleasant smell 3. Doesn't dry out my skin or cause any severe irritation Cons: 1. After application for about maybe 3-4 minutes it BURNS ...I don't mean tingle I mean feels like your face is on fire. HOWEVER....that feeling quickly will dissipate and for the remainder of the time you have it on it feels normal. If you can't stand that kind of very powerful tingling burning sensation then you might not like this. 2. The packaging is kind of problematic. The pump on mine just would not work for the longest time til I finally figured out if I turned the bottle upside down and dispensed (using the pump) the product into my hand that way....it worked just fine. It is an odd packaging system...a pump but no straw into the product to draw it up....and with how thick the mask is....I can see why it wasn't coming out. 3. It is expensive...unless you buy it on sale in the kit then it averages out to like 15 bucks otherwise I want to say it is just over 30 dollars Now all that being said. I love this mask. I don't mind the intense feeling, I can handle funky packaging, and I troll sites for sales so I try not to worry about always having to pay full price. This product works and does just as it claims and to me that makes it worth it. I can't complain and I will repurchase no question.
I got this in a kit and I am always a little hesitant to try new scrubs but one week my skin was just not cooperating...it was oily and dry at the same time and I couldn't get anything to apply right over my skin because everything was just sticking to the dry patches. So I was like ok it is time to do a bigger exfoliating job (I used a very gentle scrub like 5 times a week but it is REALLY find and gentle and doesn't always get all the dead skin off)... I put it on on and it felt very thick and coarse but not too abrasive. I would say the particles were of a medium size but not as jagged or harsh as say St. Ives Apricot scrub... I scrubbed for about 45 or 60 seconds washed it off and let me tell you. Dry patches GONE, extra oil GONE, my skin felt so smooth and happy lol. It wasn't overly drying like some cleanser/scrubs can be. Now I would NOT use this everyday. It is too abrasive for that and would eventually irritate or even break capillaries in the skin if you tried scrubbing your face all the time. However it is the perfect scrub for like every maybe 3 days ish just to really get all the junk off your skin. I have already bought one of these for my mom and a backup for me. Oh and it doesn't smell bad either....in fact it doesn't really have any sort of overwhelming fragrance...just kind has an earthy scent to it in my opinion.
Toners -Michael Todd True Organics - Blue Green Algae Toner
kpennock 4/13/2013 5:03:00 PM
This is definitely my favorite toner. I have tried the korres one, lancome, clinique, straight witch hazel.....nothing worked well. They all dried out my face which I was able to manage with heavy moisturizer. I liked them but I needed something better and without the denatured alcohol. I think this is it. I also have the cranberry and the lemon ones to try but so far this one is great. It is good at getting the extra makeup/residue off and doesn't dry my skin as much. It doesn't provide a miracle cure for acne but does help prevent new break outs and reduces redness. I do still get breakouts from some hormones but not as bad as before and far less frequently. Definitely a good product and cheaper than a lot of the high end ones.
Cleansers -Michael Todd True Organics - Charcoal Detox deep pore gel cleanser
kpennock 4/13/2013 4:57:00 PM
I was skeptical about this whole line but I got a 20% coupon and they sets were on sale so why not give it a go....I was REALLY happy I did. This gel cleanser is so gentle and feels so nice on your skin and doesn't strip all moisture out of it. My skin appearance and texture has improved. I do use it with their algae toner and the kaolin clay mask.....all the products I have tried I love. This is no exception. I do believe this is definitely worth the hype and doesn't have all the nasty chemicals and ingredients so that is a HUGE bonus. I just bought 2 more sets one for a backup and one for my mom. I love them!
I got this on sale in a Christmas gift set and I am pleasantly surprised. I smelled it in the store and loved it so I had to buy it. To me it smells like apricots and vanilla...it is such a warm adult scent I love it. It does have some floral but fruity tones to it but changes a little on my skin and I AM IN LOVE. I hope they keep this one around for a while. Even so I have the bottle and the roller ball so YAY.
As far as peel off masks go I really like this one. It does take a while to dry but it really pulled off any dead skin/extra oil/sucked stuff outta my pores. I haven't noticed a reduction in pore size but I will tell you it made my skin feel super super clean. I have other clay masks for deeeep cleaning if I need it but for just a once a week or so treatment I enjoy this one. I will say if you don't like peel off masks or the feeling of peeling them off you won't like this. It is painful if you have sensitive skin (which I do not) but keep that in mind if you are sensitive to pain or things like biore strips. One note: if you have some lingering bits of mask left on your face...use a makeup remover wipe...comes right off no pain no tugging.
