I prefer a very exfoliating lip scrub, more along the lines of Lush. My Lush store was out of stock, so off to Sephora I went and I bought this. It is pleasant tasting and smelling. It contains resveratrol from grapes, so it claims to have antiaging properties. The exfoliant in this product is jojoba beads, and I felt their should have been a higher concentration to make this more effective. It is all food grade, so it is safe to ingest. This is not a repurchase for me, I went back to Lush and bought my HG lip scrub when they got it back in stock. If the Lush lip scrub is too exfoliating for you, I would recommend this one, as it is more gentle. The container is about half the size of Lush, and priced at $18, which is more than double the price of Lush's lip scrub.
Tried henna for the first time yesterday. I was told that it would cover up my grays, since I have dark brown hair and not trying to drastically change my natural hair color, I went with the caca brun. I had the henna prepared and applied at the Lush store (they do it for free - hello!) so that was a huge plus for a newbie like me. They sent me home with a shower cap on and instructions to wash it all out after two hours. Did that - sadly, my gray hairs are still visible, and now even more so since the henna slightly darkened the rest of my hair. My hair feels soft and conditioned, I will admit to that. I think I might try one more henna treatment in a few weeks, I really want it to work. next time I will remove the shower cap when I get home, as I was told that that will oxidize and darken the color even more. Perhaps that will help to darken the grays. In the meantime, I am going to go back to Lush as the employee who applied the henna asked me to come back and show her the results. I wonder if they have a refund policy?
Deodorants -Secret - Outlast Completely Clean Clear Gel
kookykabooky 8/25/2012 9:22:00 PM
This claims to keep you odor free for 48 hours. Ha! Doesn't even make it through the day. I was sweaty and smelly and just felt gross. I used it for a few weeks hoping it would work, but no. Plus I hate throwing out product, even useless product. But in this case, I am. Will not repurchase.
Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Kate Walsh - Boyfriend

I tries this on today at Sephora and really had no idea what this was supposed to smell like. This is not the type of scent I normally wear or gravitate toward,as the salesperson told me that it has a masculine vibe to it, but I decided to try it out and I love it. It is cozy and sweet, as other reviewers have said. It is soft and warm and to me, I am reminded just a little bit of Obsession for Men, because of the sweetness. I am going to go back and buy this fragrance for my birthday coming up. I can't really see wearing this in the warmer months, but for winter/early spring, absolutely. I have no idea who Kate Walsh is, but she knows perfume and this one is a winner in my book.
Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
kookykabooky 1/23/2011 8:35:00 PM
I have owned this brush for over a year and basically used it to apply powder blush. I know, I know, I was not really using this fabulous brush the way it was intended -for liquid foundation. Well, I finally did today and I was so surprised at how fast and easy the application was! Not to mention flawless! Not to mention that I used less than half my regular amount of foundation (MAC F&B). I am kicking myself for not listening to my fellow MUAers sooner! I am giving this brush 4 lippies only because it did shed like crazy. Other than that, def repurchase. Expensive but worth it.
Ok, I have large eyes, long dark lashes, but not much curl. I must curl my lashes on a daily basis, and I have tried many over the years. The Bobbi Brown curler is my new favorite. Not expensive at all, and works great. Plus there is absolutely none of the dreaded 90 degree angle curl going on with this product. I find this works great for me because the curve where your lashes go is somewhat shallow, and that makes it easy to get all my lashes with one squeeze. No pinching or pulling either. This is a definite repurchase for me when the time comes. Possible HG - I have purchased Tarte, Avon, Shu,Sally Hansen and Revlon curlers in the past, and this one is my fave hands down.
This review is for Slice of Nature Argan Oil purchased through Amazon.com. I specifically bought it because of the review below from moonandtheriver. (THANK YOU!!!) I have suffered with horrible painful ugly eczema on the backs of both hands for the last 5 years. I tried petroleum jelly first, then Aquaphor, to CeraVe cream, to Yu-be cream I read about on Sephora.com. I tried Weleda Skin food, and olive oil as well as something I bought at Target, Sage and Olive oil from Boots? Of course, I also used the prescription creams I was given my the derm also, but nothing, nothing has helped. Along comes argan oil. I had the Josie Maran version (will review that separately), but I ordered this less expensive oil for the purposes of slathering it all over my hands. I am thrilled to say that in just one week, my hands look and feel the way they did 5 years ago!!!!! The eczema is gone. I have to apply 3 times a day or else the skin by my knuckles will begin to crack and bleed, but I will happily apply this stuff as often as I have to for my hands to look normal and not hurt anymore!!! I also started applying this all over my face because of the miraculous results on my hands! I have combo skin and I apply the oil to my palms and then pat all over my face. I will update my review at a later date because it has only been two days of face application.
Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Yu-Be Lip Therapy
kookykabooky 1/12/2011 12:01:00 AM
So many better lip balms on the market. I have been using this daily for over a month. I suffer from dry chapped lips so I was hoping that this would be the answer to that, but it does not work. It does not last long on the lips at all. It is not pleasant smelling either, which I was willing to overlook as long as it was moisturizing and long lasting, but it is not. Will keep looking.
In a word, yuck. I bought this scrub in the recommendation of my fave youtube guru, Kandee Johnson. She uses this every day. I scrub my face every day as well, but I am always switching up my scrubs, looking for that HG. This is NOT it. I do appreciate the all natural aspect, but that is all. It is crumbly and hard to scoop out of the jar. It smells weird, like cloves, which I personally do not like. There is no foam or lather either, which I am not used to. This is going back to the store. I will continue my search!!
Concealers -Make Up For Ever - 5 Camouflage Cream Palette
kookykabooky 7/23/2010 1:04:00 AM
I am giving this product a 5 even though I really only use one color in palette - the darker salmon color. It miraculously completely covers my horrible undereye circles! Nothing has covered as well for me as this color, hence the 5 star rating. I would repurchase the salmon color if that were an option. It does not cake or settle in lines, and very little product is needed.
Pros: super effective physical sunblock, not chemical, which is good since the chemical ones sting my skin. The price is reasonable for such a great must have product. Cons: does clog my pores, but I began applying primer underneath (see my review for the Monistat Chafing Gel - this provides a great barrier). Product has a slight tint that gives a gray cast to my fair skin, so I began adding a drop of a warmer toned liquid foundation to it on my fingertips and mixing together before applying. I basically apply this as I would apply a cleanser - all over face and neck. HG sunblock for me. I just repurchased and will continue to repurchase.
Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - Monistat - Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

OMG! After reading about this here on MUA several months ago, I always seemed to forget about it but just yesterday at Target, I remembered and I bought it. I used it today, it was hot, sunny, and HUMID. I applied all over my face over my moisturizer, and wow! My makeup looked fresh ALL DAY...no shine, nothing! I am so amazed and pleased with this product! I have tried LG Spackle, Smashbox Photo Finish, BE primer, and none perform like this does. Smooth, soft skin that makeup floats over and just stays put all day long. Unbelievable. Love, love, love! Total repurchase when I run out!!
I recently had a manicure and chose to try this color for the first time. It is a soft pink. Two coats applied evenly. I plan on purchasing. The previous review describes the color very well. I pick at my nails, so polish as a rule does not last very long on me. For that reason, I can't speak to the lasting power.
Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Natural Smudge Brush #11
kookykabooky 5/6/2010 12:55:00 AM
This is the best smudge brush ever. I love this little baby. It makes my life ridiculously easy. It takes me mere seconds to apply eyeshadow as liner now. Mine does not shed, the bristle length/firmness are ideal for picking up enough eyeshadow and laying the color down quickly and easily. HG. I apply eyeshadow as liner with this either over a pencil liner, or just on its own, with some sort of lid primer on usualIy. I will never be without this brush.
Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Professional Blush Brush
kookykabooky 5/6/2010 12:46:00 AM
OK, I am still on the fence about this brush. I think I will probably keep it, because it does not shed, and I use it for contouring mostly. It is a densely packed brush with firm bristles. If you are not careful, it is very likely that you can pick up too much product with this brush, so I just lightly tap it on my pressed powder blush that I use as a contour shade(Harmony by MAC), and I may have to repeat this several times in order to get the job done. You really have to understand and work with this brush, because in all honesty, it is not an easy brush to handle. It requires patience to get the hang of it, and I am still trying to decide if it is worth it. I got this instead of a more expensive MAC brush, trying to save money, but in the end, I think I should have just splurged on the MAC. I have yet to use this with liquid product, so I still have hope for this brush. Will update if I change my mind and return.
