I had been seriously lemming this lipstick, but I hadn't actually seen it in person. When I did, it really didn't look like anything special, especially because it was almost the same color as my lips are naturally. However I tried it on anyway, and it was gorgeous! I was shocked that it could turn out so different from what it was! I ended up getting it, but when I applied it later it looked so different. I blamed the dang beauty counter lights, but it was actually that I had just applied lip balm the first time I'd tried it on. C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Balm (NOT the Lip Shine, but the actual balm) is my HG lip balm and I had just applied it before I put on the Sparks Can Fly. I tried to apply it again, this time with the lip balm beneath it, and it deposited a silky, sheer, beautiful color that I loved! Overall, I rated the lipstick as a 3 and not higher, because I do only really like it when I put my lipbalm on underneath. It is also extremely drying, yet another reason to wear the lipbalm underneath
Mascara -Prescriptives - False Eyelashes Plush Mascara

This. Mascara. Is. Amazing. Photographic Evidence: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb225/knowsie/FOTD/IMG_0603.jpg My lashes really aren't exceptionally long, dark, or curly, but this mascara honestly looks like I'm wearing falsies! The best part is it doesn't look clumpy, all the lashes look nice and defined. I recieved four samples through various gwps, swaps, and kindly MAs and I'm on my last one so I bought a full size! This mascara is easily my HG.
In general, I love the NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils, but Milk was only so-so. It's an extremely pigmented white eyeshadow, and it's very difficult to blend. It comes off easily, as a plus, and it can be used for some of the funner FOTDs because it really is an interesting product. I don't think I'll purchase it again though, because I really only use it for play. I also use it for a base, though, so if it succeeds in that aspect, I'll surely repurchase.
I went through a phase where I really loved tints and stains as opposed to the matte lipsticks I usually prefer. I got this in Vintage and I LOVE it!!! I have fairly pigmented lips, but there was enough pigment in these to still make a definite difference in color. Also there wasn't a lot of outright shine, and it has a minty flavor, which I enjoy in a lipbalm, which it also is. I loved my Vintage one so much I actually ordered Juicy, Metador, and Sake as well.
I had this in Peach Afterglow, and after using, I ran right out and bought it in Cheeky Cherry and Playful Pink. Initially I REALLY REALLY liked it, it provided a sheer wash that looked rather natural and pretty. It really got me interested in blush, a beauty product I'd never really used before. Unfortunately, as time goes on, this product becomes less gel-like and more liquidy. I don't understand the complaint about it putting out too much because that was never a problem for me. And even though it is losing its consistency, I still really like it and how it looks.
I've been using this product for a few months now (It's lasting forever), and I love it, but I was thinking about it, and I really didn't know why. It does not really make my hair shinier, and it didn't make sense to keep using it but I loved it anyway. I finally figured out why, it's because it smells SO good. I love when my hair smells that way and THAT'S why I use it. I'm not too familiar with Rusk as a brand, so I don't know if it all smells like that, but I'll find out and experiment with other products that hopefully DO work.
Foundations -Prescriptives - Custom Blend [DISCONTINUED]

I would never have bought this myself, but the product itself is AMAZING. I'm really pale, but my skin is also really pink, and it is sooooo hard trying to find foundation that really and truly matches my skin. I usually just end up settling, but this is a perfect match. The SA was patient and tried to make this a great experience. If it weren't for the price, this would be HG, but I cannot seem to get over that hefty price, and I personally wouldn't pay to replace it. I do have one thing I don't like about it, though: the SA reccomended I use it with a foundation brush, and I usually use a brush as well, but with this foundation, I am really frustrated with the results when I use a brush. I actually reverted to using fingers and a sponge like I used to, and it works so much better, at least for me.
Eyeliner -Jordana - Easyliner for Eyes (Retractable Pencil)
know_everything89 2/4/2007 11:36:00 AM
This was a complete and total impulse buy. It was next to the register and it was 2/$3 so I picked some up. I got Sterling Blue and Mint, and I LOVE them both. They're retractable, and even though they're a little smudgy, I like them like that. It ends up looking messy and cool like I didn't try so hard, but it still looks okay. I was surprised how much I liked them actually.
I love this eyeliner while it's on, and it is very long lasting, but the cream stick is very flimsy. I didn't expect it to be extremely strong, but it breaks soooooo easily so sometimes it can be hard to apply. Other than that, I love the green color, it looks very good on me, and I've gotten compliments about it. Usually I'm fairly boring with my makeup, brown eyeshadow, etc, but I'm trying to use more color, and this was a great choice.
I like this for doing its job, but I don't really like anything else about it. It smells, but it mostly smells like the Tony & Tina herbal clay mask, not so much the sulfur to me. It did clear my skin after only a week or so of using twice a day, but I never really have tons of acne. My problem is that I'm really really oily, but I hardly ever get pimples, and when I do, they're HUGE and completely unmissable. This has been keeping them away, but when used with my toner, it makes my skin very tight and dry. And the price, its not so much that it is expensive, it's that I'm fairly indifferent to it, and I would pay that much for it again.
I don't really like Mascaras, because all the mascaras I've tried are the super volume, extra length mascaras and I look ridiculous in them. This mascara, however, was more of a definer than anything. It did make my lashes look a little bit longer, but mostly it just gave them color. I really like it, and my already fairly long (but light) lashes looked pretty and not crazy.
This is my favorite lipstick. EVER. The color looks really great on my lips. They're really pigmented, and it's hard to find lipsticks that look good with the color, but this one really is great. It looks fairly brown in the tube, but it ended up going on almost sheerly, and it wasn't shiny, but it did have a sheen. I don't know, but I love it!
Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Lipstick - Pure Posh
know_everything89 12/31/2006 1:25:00 PM
This is a beautiful color, just not on me. The SA was wearing it while she sold me the Colour Surge lip stick set of four, and it looked great on her. Just not on me. I really love Colour Surge lipsticks in general, and this one was no different, but I do not reccomend this shade for a PPP with pigmented lips.
I'm well aware of the "Grandma" reputation this perfume has, but I have to say, I'd never actually smelled it until I got it for Christmas. I fell in love with the powdery scent but didn't know how it would work with me. It doesn't smell stellar, but it's sweet, and and feminine, and I probably won't wear it much because I have other perfumes I love, but it will be worn. I just have to add, the smell fades so quickly on me! My all time favorite perfume/cologne is Burberry Weekend for Men, and because it's for men (or maybe just because it's Burberry, my other Burberrys are fairly strong too) it's a little stronger, and it lasts. Wheras this perfume fades quickly unless I put tons on. And if I put tons on it smells bad for, like, an hour but then it mellows out and is nice. EDIT: I feel really stupid because I never knew about the cotton ball trick, but if you soak a cotton ball in this perfume and stick it in your bra it lasts forever and smells so much better. I'm sure the rest of the world already knew about this, but it's the only way I can wear this for more than half an hour.
Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
know_everything89 11/19/2006 10:54:00 AM
I've been using it with the liquid foundation that goes with it, and I have to say, this is the better of the two. I often wear it alone if I don't need a lot of coverage ,and even then it isn't bad about covering. It does keep me matte, not for all 6 hours, but for about four. And even though the compact STINKS the product WORKS
