Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Banana (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)

THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. I combine this and the Neutral shade, and the result is beautiful. I've tried 100's of powders, and this is the only one that looks absolutely natural and also has staying power. I mean, REAL staying power. and it DOES. NOT. CAKE. HG Loose Powder for sure. Also, it's super cheap compared to other powders, especially ones as finely milled and high quality. Oh, and it doesn't break me out at all. My skin has been well-behaved with it, and it'll react to anything if it has a single pore-clogging ingredient in it.

LOVE T STUFF. wow, this looks natural and you use so little. i'll rebuy again and again. HG. I buy it in the #6 formula. It doesn't cause breakouts and covers some acne scarring that I'm self-conscious of but it doesn't look fake. I've found the best way to apply it is mixed with a small amount of Cetaphil cream and a foundation brush.

Absolutely beautiful! I love how there's no shimmer to this. It doesn't look muddy or cakey at all, just a perfect bronzed look

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar
rated 5 of 5
klprice1 9/15/2009 8:18:00 AM

I waited a month to review this so I could give an accurate review. I wish there was a way to explain how awesome I think this stuff is. First off, I've tried everything: tazorac, anti-biotics, clenziderm, drug store items, dept store stuff...literally, EVERYTHING for my acne. It especially flares up around the time of the month w/ several giant cysts on my cheeks or chin (so, pretty much my WHOLE FACE). Here's what I put in mine: 1. I put in about a third acv into a nearly empty rubbing alcohol bottle. 2. Crush up about a 2-3 aspirin. 3. Visine! I know it sounds weird, but it totally helps w/ facial redness, breakouts, basically any inflammation. I'll empty a large visine thing in there. 4. A few splashes of hydrogen peroxide. 5. I fill it up about 80% w/ aloe vera gel. 6. Top off w/ water, leaving a little room @ the top... After all this, I shake the bottle like crazy to dissolve the aspirin and mix it all up. I'll leave it on my counter and shake it for the first night I make it up. I still shake it up before I use it, but I don't worry about shaking it like crazy after the first night of mixing it up. This stuff has literally been the first thing to prove effective (along w/ walgreens alpha hydroxy cream), and I wish I could dance and shout about how happy I am. I only got one cyst on my chin, and it definitely was smaller, more responsive, and not as bad as they've been in the past. @ first, my skin purged very noticeably for about a week from the walgreens cream I think. It was weird, because I didn't purge w/ tazorac. I definitely didn't expect that, but I actually was happy. I usually get awful cystic breakouts, but I was getting whiteheads and blackheads @ first! All the gunk and crap was literally coming to the surface before my eyes...I know that's a sexy image, but back to the review. While the walgreens cream was purging my skin, I read a review for this stuff and mixed it up. I think it dramatically helped the purging period, and my skin calmed down quickly. I can't say for sure it wasn't the end of the purging period, but I think it was due to this toner. So, after all is said and done, here are the differences I see after a month: 1) my scars are significantly , definitely less obvious. They're lighter and appear to be less deep. I'm wearing less makeup-and I literally have worn makeup since I was 12, and I'm 24 (50% of my life). I've worn concealer forever, and now I can get by w/ just light foundation. Crazy. 2) Less breakouts. They're not GONE, but I imagine I'm honing my routine still, and I've seen huge improvements. They heal way faster too, don't get as big, and no red spots remain afterwards. I'd say that's as good as it'll get for me, and that's great, imo. 3) My skin is more radiant/soft/glowy/etc. I love this concoction. It's extremely effective, my skin looks awesome. couldn't be happier.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Polysporin

This stuff is great. I use it, along with other stuff, as a Spot Treatment: Ingredients are basically, Antibiotic ointment, Hydrocortisone cream, redness relieving eye drops, Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask, and crushed aspirin. -For the Hydrocortisone cream, I'll usually buy something that's the generic brand that says max strength and has aloe vera. It's not essential, but I'm kind of a "more is more" type of person. -For the Antibiotic ointment, I usually get a generic brand that's also max strength of polysporin. I like to have as much anti-bacterial crap in there as possible. -The mask is actually not essential for any therapeutic purpose, but it provides the ability for the entire mixture to dry, and thus minimizes rubbing off. Prior to me using the mask, the creams and ointments would rub off in the middle of the night and thus defeat the purpose of the entire treatment. I heard of people using the queen helene mask as a spot treatment and it's a staple of mine, so I naturally figured what the hell. -The eye drops MUST be redness relieving, since their inclusion is due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Also, given that they are redness RELIEVING, and zits are red....you can see where the reasoning is going. I'll buy whatever is cheapest with the largest amount. - STEPS: 1) Put a tiny dab of the antibiotic ointment, hydrocortisone cream, and the mint mask on your (freshly cleansed) hand. 2) Add a "little bit" aspirin-say, a nickel's worth. Because I crush up a ton of pills, I'm not sure how many pills it's equivalent to. I just try to make it so that it's the majority substance in the mixture. It's really not terribly important exactly how much you put on, in my opinion. trial and error is a key concept. 3) Add an extremely small amount of eye drops at first. Keep adding the drops until the substance in your hand is "congealing" into a homogenous mixture. It'll be VERY thick, green, and grainy. 4) apply it to your zit overnight. *I do not advise wearing the mixture during daytime due to a "jackass"-like appearance.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 5 of 5
klprice1 9/15/2009 7:52:00 AM

I love aspirin! I can't believe how much it's improved my skin for so cheap! I would do commercials for it. I use aspirin for a ton of stuff, so here's what I do: I buy a bunch of UNCOATED aspirin (bought the wrong kind once, lol). I lay out about 30 onto a durable paper towel, get a rolling pin, and crush them all to a very fine powder. I was first crushing them on my (disinfected) counter, but they'd shoot out from the rolling pin and get everywhere. It was just too messy. So, I layer some paper towels both underneath and on top of the aspirin, and just keep puckering the towels to redestribute the half crushed pills. It's worth the 20 minutes it takes to do a couple bottles, because I have them on hand without needing to crush them daily or whatever. I use the aspirin for a toner, in addition to the masks, but I'll only write about aspirin as A) spot treatments, and B) masks. A) SPOT TREATMENT RECIPE: Ingredients are basically, Antibiotic ointment, Hydrocortisone cream, redness relieving eye drops, Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask, and crushed aspirin. B) ASPIRIN AS A MASK I actually got sick of sneezing and itching when I used this alone, so I mix it with the Queen Helene Mask, the Borghese Mud mask, and some of my crushed up aspirin. Afterwards, my face is totally glowing, smooth, and my pores are way smaller. I do this a few times a week. Sometimes, I'll mix plain yogurt and/or honey too, but usually I like to just use those things as a moisturizing mask afterwards.

This looks really pretty, but it's too inconvenient. I have to be so careful not to spill, and it's too easy to make it look muddy. It DOES look pretty if I make sure to dust enough excess off. Idk.... I just don't feel like it's worth it.

klprice1 7/23/2009 9:16:00 AM

EDIT: I just copy and pasted this reply I sent to someone else who was worried about the purging process. Figured it couldn't hurt to include it. I've used a lot of stuff with my skin that's supposed to purge it, mainly retinoids like tazorac and differin. I think I also used green cream at one point. The weird thing is, I NEVER purged with those products, but the walgreens cream purged me like crazy! It was pretty awful. I've never really gotten white or blackheads, but the walgreens cream definitely brought some up. I don't know if you've stopped because of the purging. Believe me, I can relate so much to the nightmare of awful purging and breakouts, so I don't blame you. All I can tell you is my experience with the stuff, which is great. I can't remember exactly (and i'm too lazy to look at my review) but I'd say I purged for at least 5 days but no longer than 10 days. And man, it was totally worth it. I guess I'll tell you exactly what I did. First of all, I use my own version of the aspirin/Apple cider vinegar toner. Here's the link: http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp?ItemId=458 I think that toner helped a ton with the purging. I don't always let the toner dry, but it's probably a good idea to. I would pile the walgreens cream on (and I still do), but I really piled it in the beginning to try and get the purging over with sooner. It itched like crazy (again, it still does. If I don't itch my face, it gets better in about 15 minutes). I can't remember if I've already reviewed the aspirin mask, but I'm going to check that write after I finish that. If it suits your fancy, check out my review for it, because I use the aspirin mask for spot treatments. I think that also has a lot to do with why my skin is relatively clear. I also put neosporin, hydrocortisone cream, the mint julep mask, and slightly liquefy it with visine (the visine helps with inflammation, lol). That's the gist for my spot treatment if you don't want to hassle with the review. Honestly, I kind of liked the purging because I just wanted the breakouts to be over with. The results, in my opinion, spoke for themselves. After all the hassle of the purge, my skin was beautiful. It was better than it had ever been. I still breakout slightly around that time of the month, but it's nothing like it used to be. I used to get 3 or 4 huge cysts that wouldn't go away for like two weeks! It was so humuliating. Now, with my current routine, I get like one or two, and they're not even noticeable with some good concealer because they don't raise up. They're flat, thank God. So, to sum up, the walgreens cream is fantastic. However, I definitely consider it to be one part of my essential routine with the toner and spot treatments. (Original Review) I waited a month to review this so I could give an accurate review. I wish there was a way to explain how awesome I think this stuff is. First off, I've tried everything: tazorac, anti-biotics, clenziderm, drug store items, dept store stuff...literally, EVERYTHING for my acne. All the gunk and crap was literally coming to the surface before my eyes...I know that's a sexy image, but back to the review. It also itches like hell-sometimes I want to take sandpaper to my face-but it'll go away after 30-60 min. Also, it definitely is better if you put on a lighter coat. Also, for the first week and a half I'd say, my skin was a little dry. I'd exfoliate, and then use this cream, and then I'd also use jojoba oil. Then I'd seal it in w/ vaseline, and all that really helped. So, after all is said and done, here are the differences I see after a month: 1) my scars are significantly , definitely less obvious. They're lighter and appear to be less deep. I'm wearing less makeup-and I literally have worn makeup since I was 12, and I'm 24 (50% of my life). I'd say that's as good as it'll get for me, and that's great, imo. 3) My skin is more radiant/soft/glowy/etc. Overall, I don't know what they put in this stuff, but wow. I never have luck w/ this kind of thing. Hell, even tazorac was pretty much a bust. I'm a total believer in this walgreens cream tho.

truth be told, it wasn't the best thing ever. it softened my skin and helped with inflammation SLIGHTLY, but i liked chanel's hydramax or just straight up cetephil cream better. didn't do a whole lot for my breakouts. decleor's night balm was better than this. i'm sorry, i just didn't notice this doing a whole lot for my skin.
