Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo

Controls frizzies, but doesn't make my oily fine hair limp. Really really like it, as I tried so many shampoos that left me with an oily crown within 36 hours (I wash my hair every 3 days).

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Waterproof

Love this mascara, and I have been looking for the perfect one and settled for almost there with Max Factor. But this one is better because it is waterproof, but still easy to remove with an oil based remover. One coat and lashes are thickened and curled. My lashes are pretty long, so I don't want major fibers sticking out as extensions, but as a thickener, non smudgey, no flakey and relatively easy to remove, this is GREAT.

Hair -Ion - Moisture Solutions - Hydrating Masque

I have fine curly hair that's in pretty good condition but the top layer gives me a frizz problem even when I blow it out. I just used this as a 3 minute conditioner (the clerk at Sally's said you could leave it in for 20 minutes with a plastic wrap, but I just used it as conditioner in the shower). I blow dried my hair and it looks great. Nothing I have tried yet has given me these kinds of results. I will do a curly style diffusing and update with the results then. Will definitely buy again.

Fragrance -Cartier - Must de Cartier Pour Homme

My SO is a major perfume snob, but out of all his offerings, this one is my favorite. It is smooth and has none of that antiseptic smell I find in some men's colognes (Grey Flannel, Boucheron, etc.). Perfect!

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
rated 4 of 5

Despite the mothball smell, this is an excellent cleanser for removing pretty much all makeup (I use a separate mascara remover for my waterproof mascara). I remove makeup twice a day since I wear foundation to the gym (I know, gross, but I need it) then shower. I use this in the shower and don't have to worry about the extra removal step first.

Lotions/ Creams -Natural Esscents - Tahitian Vanilla Body Whip
rated 4 of 5

This body lotion has a wonderful consistency and the smells lingers for hours. As others have said, it is a coconut rum vanilla that is quite sultry. I have had comments of "suntan lotion" (well, I was dressed for the beach, so understandable) to "chocolate" (but it was my 8 year old niece who probably has only had coconut when it's with chocolate). I can smell myself for hours on end when I wear this and the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is because the scent is somewhat "in your face." You'd have to love it to have this much oomph.

Styling Products -Graham Webb - Making Waves Gel
rated 5 of 5

Wow, this is great for my naturally curly long hair (somewhat fine and frizzy if I don't use any product). I spray in a little leave in conditioner, comb out, then apply Beyond the Zone Frizz Zapper. Then put in a decent size glob of Making Waves, comb out again and hair spray to wet hair. Dries perfectly with no frizzies and stands up to the Miami hunidity. Love it!!

Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Featherlite Souffle in CARIBBEAN
rated 5 of 5
kkasper 5/19/2004 5:52:00 PM

The scent description is "Tropical blend of coconut, fresh pineapple on a scoop of vanilla ice cream" and that is damn straight! It is such a delightful scent, the vanilla and coconut tame the pineapple so there's no harshness or overly fruitiness. And the featherlite souffle is a great textured cream, not greasy at all. Kind of like light yogurt. This is better than pineapple buttercream, IMHO.

Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Shea and Aloe body Cream - Buttercream Frosting

I don't know what it is about this scent, but there's a nice vanilla trying to get out from under a burning, chemical smell. It's so weird, very hard to describe. At first I thought it was a bad batch, but I have since smelled it again and it definitely has an odd burning thing happening. Oh well, S&L has so many other good scents. The sweet buttercream is really nice!

Lotions/ Creams -Scentful Bliss - Marshmallow Shea Cream Almond Milk & Honey
rated 4 of 5
kkasper 5/5/2004 8:32:00 AM

This is an assertive almond and honey scent, so you can't be shy when wearing it. SB's marshmallow shea cream is thick, rich and highly scented (you can now choose your scent intensity). The almond milk and honey has that almond extract scent with a creamy undertone. The only reason I give it a 4 is when you first apply it, is smells slightly plasticky, but it dries down very nicely.

You get way more than you pay for here, especially if you have oily skin. I tried it for the first time last night, trying to tame those TOTM hormonal breakouts. Woke up this morning, everything is almost gone and my face isn't as oily as it usually is when I wake up. I got the tub container at Sally's for $4.49. Looks like it will last a year, so it's one of the best bargains around.

Skincare - Body -Scentful Bliss - Marshmallow Shea Cream in Blackberry Musk
rated 5 of 5
kkasper 4/23/2004 6:11:00 AM

I love Scentful Bliss' marshmallow shea cream for its thick rich consistency and super long lasting scent (you can order strong, medium or light intensity - I order strong because I don't wear perfume, so it's my scent for the day). The Blackberry Musk scent is so gorgeous, one many companies are copying from Trish McEvoy's #9 perfume. I think SB's 8 oz. size ($11.99) is one of the best values out there. Giant tub of super rich cream that goes a long way. Three times as much in volume as most other 4 oz. containers out there.

Lotions/ Creams -Scentful Bliss - Marshmallow Shea Cream in Pink Sugar

I love Scentful Bliss' marshmallow shea cream for its thick rich consistency and super long lasting scent (you can order strong, medium or light intensity). The Pink Sugar dupe is spot on. I think SB's 8 oz. is one of the best values out there. Giant tub of super rich cream that goes a long way. Three times as much in volume as most other 4 oz. containers out there. I also have the roll on perfume which is a tremendous value and smells the same as Aqualina's Pink Sugar.

Lotions/ Creams -Suds and Light - Cupid's Arrow
rated 5 of 5
kkasper 4/13/2004 9:45:00 AM

Being a vanilla, almond and coconut scent freak, this is a great combo for me. No spice, very soft and pleasant to smell. There is also a cherry note, but it's not that prominent. Most marzipan scents are almond with cherry, so this is like a marzipan with vanilla and coconut. YUM!

Lotions/ Creams -Simplyscents - Strawberry Daiquiri Shea Butter Cream
rated 4 of 5
kkasper 3/18/2004 8:34:00 AM

A very nice strawberry vanilla scent and the shea butter cream is wonderfully moisturizing. I have tried some other strawberry scents before and they are often too pungent, but this is subtle, yet strong. Good one!
