Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Face Powder

This is my Holy Grail powder that I use alone for foundation. I apply with a sponge and it does not cake on me and is easily spreadable and has full coverage with not that much product. It keeps shine down for me and wears very well all day, with minimal touch up needed. I am also convinced that using this along with Neutrogena Hydrating 3 in 1 acne treatment has allowed my rosacea problem to clear up. Can't scientifically prove it, lol, but every since stopping liquid foundations and using the Neutrogena, my skin night and day better. The only thing about this is it contains parabens, it they stopped using that, I'd like it even more. I also think the price is a bit high for a drugstore product, so I try and find it on sale, usually when CVS put PH on sale, I snap up a couple, also, it cheapest at regular price at Walmart and Beth Bath and Beyond Harmon Discount section, at 11-12 dollars. Lastly, it has a tendency to crumble so be careful with it.

Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Megalast Nail Color - Break the Ice

This is the only white-ish toned polish I like so far.. I like that it is not stark white and that has micro-shimmer in it, which adds to the soft, flattering look. This needs 2 or 3 coats max for opacity, it adds a nice finished look to your nails, the first coat being a bit streaky. Can be worn all year round in my opinion.. and.. to kick it up a notch and a add a bit of flair, I add Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in "Diamonds" over the top. A lovely look. I can't speak to the lasting of this polish, as I always add a topcoat. That said, I will re-purchase as I really like the color.

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers in Cinnamon Toast
rated 5 of 5
kittykat1 1/20/2013 4:06:00 PM

Although I prefer a cool, pink toned makeup look, this is perfect for me on the days that I do an all warm look, with eyes, lips, etc. This is the perfect blend of peach and brown, which contains a touch of shimmer, but the shimmer does not show on my skin and no "orangey" cast at all. I use this both as a blush and an all over bronzer, it's just perfect for me. The only draw back is the long, thin, narrow shape which makes certain brushes difficult to navigate. The brush for me is useless, so I just toss that and I use the 3 dollar ELF blush brush from target and it's a perfect size for this blush. I will continue to purchase this shade and hope it's not discontinued! Giving it the full 5 lippies :-)

Been using this for years and keep going back to it. Perfect shade of pink for my skintone and when I apply it and see it in the mirror, my reflection seems to say.. "Ahhhhh, that's better now"... LOL Don't mind the Noxema scent to it at all and the price is right.

Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Lumi Touch in Radiant
rated 4 of 5
kittykat1 1/19/2013 6:32:00 PM

I have been using this since late December and I like it. It is both brightening and concealing, best coverage of my dark circles thus far of any concealer I have used. I also use it down my nose and a bit as a higlight around tops of cheekbones. It's doesn't crease and it's not drying as I was concerned. I usually use creamy stick concealers so again, I was concerned that the thin liquidy consistency would be drying. Not so. The one drawback is the brush format packaging and you really don't get that much. I have used quite a bit since December and I see that this won't last me that long. For hygienic purposes, I spray the the brush itself almost daily with a spray bottle filled with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol. That said, I would re-purchase it.

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph

Dang... I am convinced that color has changed on this. This had HG status for muting/changing colors of existing lipsticks that were either too dark or needed another tone..I just recently received another one after being without for about 6 months. It appears darker and has tan undertones instead of pink. Not the same.. Wish I had an old one to take a pic and compare. Oh well, I ordered two tubes and I will still use it, but it's not the same...

Mascara -Jordana - Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara
rated 4 of 5
kittykat1 10/8/2012 2:11:00 PM

I tried this on the recommendation of a Youtuber who loved it and I have been using it for about a month. So far, I am happy with it. I normally like black/brown in mascara and this is black, but it is not a harsh black on me, as some can look. I like the not too wet/not too dry formula and that I can get a coat on pretty quickly. I like the brush being smaller as and it's very easy to get to all lashes as well as my lower ones. No more BIG brushes for me, I like this one a lot! I find that building it can be just a tad tricky as it can get a little clumpy, but using a lash brush can help with that. The performance for the price cannot be beat in my mind, and I plan on getting some backups on this, as I can so far only find it in K-mart in my area, although I have heard that Walgreens carries it. Give it try, I think you will like it!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze / on and on bronze
rated 5 of 5
kittykat1 7/22/2012 4:08:00 PM

I really like this product.. My favorite way to use it is to apply with the larger Essence of beauty concealer brush from the duo of this brand found at CVS. I apply all over just the lid and I will top it with L'Oreal Wear Infinite' Studio Secrets eyeshadow single in "Brush Suede". I will also line the lower lash line from inner corner to outer corner with a slightly larger line than normal with a liner brush. Add a matte brown midtone brown in the crease and a cream color highlight and mascara and it's a really pretty anytime look! The metallic effect this has really adds light to the eyes. Lasts all day.. I will definitely re-purchase over and over and I HOPE they don't discontinue!!

Eye Makeup Remover -Trader Joe's - Spa 100% Pure Jojoba Oil
rated 5 of 5
kittykat1 2/8/2012 12:50:00 PM

My HG, one and only, eye makeup remover. Yeah, the packaging could be a bit better as the oil runs out too much if not careful, but it just works so cotton pickin' well that I have to give it the full 5 lippies.. As other's have stated already, dissolves ALL eye makeup, waterproof or not VERY WELL and quickly. I disperse a small amount in my palm, use my finger to spread it on my eye, and remove with a wet cotton ball that has been squeezed to remove excess water. No chemicals, no stinging, CHEAP (Dang, not sure, but I think it's a 4 oz bottle, check the TJ website) and lasts me about 6 months I believe. Go ahead, get some now!!! :-)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength Nail Colour in Diamonds
rated 5 of 5
kittykat1 2/5/2012 2:42:00 PM

This seems to be an almost exact dupe of Essie's Luxe Effects Pure Pearlfection. Although I haven't swatched both on my nail (Just have ther SH diamonds) in the bottle,to the eye its' the same. Save your money and get the SH. That said, I really like this polish and it definitely kicks whatever your wearing up a notch when used as a topcoat over something else. Used this over a shimmery forest green at Christmas and was very pretty. I currently am wearing on top of Wet and Wild's Mega Last in Bite the Bullet. Goes over anything, I think it should be a staple in any NP Collection. It dries fast to a very hard finish. Can't speak to the staying power as I havent' noticed since I put on a final top coat..

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - White Lights Glitter 101A
rated 4 of 5
kittykat1 11/21/2011 12:43:00 PM

I think this is a great glitter to overylay on other polishes.. My favorite so far for a very feminine, soft and pretty look is to layer it over Sally Hansen's Insta Dry in "Mauve it". So, so, pretty. I have tried it over other colors, but over this pink is my fave. I am now gonna try it over black as others say it works well. Enjoy!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - 080 Strawberry Shortcake
rated 1 of 5
kittykat1 11/21/2011 12:21:00 PM

Was VERY disappointed, based on the Youtube reviews.... I picked up the lightest pink, which is the lightest of all the colors (sorry, don't remember the name at the moment) at Ulta this weekend. I was expected, based on reviews, a good coverage, lipstick like, that is, with a very moisturing effect. NOPE... Was WAY sheer, and very glossy, I might as well have gotten another lipgloss. It didn't feel like a "butter", and wasn't as moisturizing as touted. Soooo, back to Ulta it goes. Sorry folks, maybe some of the other colors are ok, but NOT for me..

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri Mauve It
rated 3 of 5
kittykat1 10/21/2011 12:50:00 PM

Yeah, I really, really like this color alot on my hands. Just a perfect shade of pink with a bit of mauve and some subtle shimmer. The only drawback for me is that I only used this polish about 4 times and then it sit awhile (I only had it for some months, at least 6 I guess) and it went thick in the bottle and was not workable. I like the color so much that I was thinking of getting another bottle, but not sure. I did find some nail polish thinner at Sally's Beauty Supply but have never tried the stuff, may be worth it to see how it does. To me, this color is a 'go to" so we'll see..

Powder -Cover Girl - Simply Powder Foundation
rated 1 of 5
kittykat1 9/8/2011 5:09:00 PM

This is the worse powder "foundation" I have used. I have others to compare it to. and THIS doesn't come very close at all. Coverage to me is not good, I have to layer and layer and layer and even then, can't get much coverage. This in my opinion is only good as a setting powder over a liquid foundation. If you are looking for a very light coverage, perhaps you will like it, but I can't recommend for full coverage at all My recommendations would be Physicians Formula pressed mineral powder or maybelline.

Lipstick -Revlon - Primrose
rated 1 of 5
kittykat1 5/15/2011 6:02:00 PM

Very disappointed in this. The color in the tube is TOTALLY different than when you apply it. It appears as a darkish rose color but when applied, it is a light pinky lavendar tint. Not that pigmented and very drying at first, until you get it going a bit, so to speak. It is almost identical to Revlon Matte lipstick in Pink Pout, which I have and dont' need two colors alomost identical!! GRRRR. So, back to the store it goes.
