Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar-Night

I assume this product is fairly new as I had to add it. I bought this several weeks ago after using some samples from Sephora, and love it. I have oily, acne-prone skin and this cleared it within 2 days and keeps it clear. I do very well with glycolic acid creams and this one is a fairly potent one for a cosmetic line. I does have that GA odor to it that dissipates fairly quickly, but glycolic acid is like the 2nd or 3rd ingredient and I also find it moisturizing enough. I use it with the Hope Eye, which is also a fairly active product and my skin hasn't looked this good in some time. It really works for fine lines, spots, and acne/oily skin..

BB Cream -Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

Absolutely LOVE this BB! Excellent for my oily skin, leaves a matte to satiny finish that gives my face a beautiful glow. Many compliments while wearing this. I switched to this when my Mom bought it and it didn't work out for her normal to dry skin. Like it so much, as many others clogged my pores and looked a bit flat and this one does not. It also has a good SPF, no breakouts, great staying power, and a good color match. I'm NC25-30 and Light is perfect. Yes, it is expensive, but I just can't help myself, and think it's worth it..

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector for Face SPF 42 PA+++
rated 5 of 5

This is without a doubt the BEST sunblock I have ever used on my face. It is very expensive, but worth it. A small amount covers my entire face, dries to a satiny-matte finish, does not make my oily skin any oilier, and does NOT leave any white cast. I have had no breakouts, clogged pores, or any other problems with this. I use a pore-refining primer first, then this, and apply my BB cream over it. I LOVE the finish and HIGHLY recommend this product for oily skinned gals like me!

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Sun Protection Eye Cream SPF 32 PA+++

I SO wanted to like this product, but there was just too much wrong with it. First, it caused my eyes to burn and tear all day, no matter how careful I was applying it. Perhaps it was my oily skin, but I think that due to how greasy this cream is it creeped into my eyes and I was unable to wear my contacts. Ironically, it was actually very drying when I'd wash my face at night. My under-eye lines were deeper, drier and far more apparent. Lastly, after applying, it leaves a shimmery, white cast under the eye that I do not find at all flattering. I finally returned it. I use the Shiseido Urban Env. oil-free UV Protector for Face-SPF 42, which I LOVE, on my entire face up to and over my crows-feet. It soaks right in and doesn't creep or irritate my eyes at all and I feel that this with BB cream over it, and sunglasses is good enough protection from the sun..

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
rated 3 of 5
kitty55 5/3/2013 4:35:00 PM

I was very excited to try this foundation. Shade 3.0 was a perfect match for my NC25-30 skin and the satiny finish looked very nice. I am very oily and this did not make me oilier. The problems I had with this were: it didn't last at all, is not buildable coverage and if you try to build it streaks, it sort of sticks to dry skin flakes and any and all blemishes, and has a paleness to it that I can't really describe.. What I liked about it was the finish and that it didn't become greasy, but at the end of every day I wore it, I would have new blemishes. :( So, I switched to another product and my skin cleared up in 2 days.. Also, although not a deal-breaker, the pump will leak all over the place if you turn it over in your makeup bag, and why on earth is the bottle so HUGE with only 1 ounce of product in it??

Bronzers -Urban Decay - Naked Flushed Palette
rated 5 of 5
kitty55 4/30/2013 1:43:00 PM

I love this. The shades are perfect. I am NC25-30. I like that you can contour with the bronzer, add a tad of shimmer to it and to the blush, or just use it as is. The pinkish shade of blush is very natural looking, as is the bronzer. I just use a tiny bit of the highlighter, but I love having the option to use the 3 colors however I like. Very smooth and finely milled powder that lasts on my oily skin. UD is probably my favorite and I just love the Naked line..

Lip Treatments -City Cosmetics - City Lips Advanced - Clear
rated 5 of 5

After getting Juvederm injections, the last one being 5 years ago, I can no longer afford that so I thought I'd try this. This product really works! I was absolutely amazed. No stinging, just a very slight tingle. I apply it at night and it stays put til the next morning. I've only been using this for a week and notice a difference already. My lips are smoother and fuller. Love it..

Blush -Smashbox - Blush Rush in Heartbreak
rated 2 of 5

I was very disappointed with this blush. The color's beautiful, blends well, leaves a lovely finish, and then it COMPLETELY disappears less than an hour after applying!? I also find the packaging cheap and flimsy, even though it has a slide-out mirror on the bottom. Exchanged it for a different brand that stays put..

LOVE this scent, actually love most of Burberry fragrances. This one is clean, fresh, and sophisticated. Very nice dry down. I like it for spring-summer..

BB Cream -Tarte - BB tinted treatment 12-hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen
rated 5 of 5
kitty55 4/25/2013 3:50:00 PM

I've tried at least 6 BBs and all have been too greasy or didn't have the right finish, shade, or caused breakouts, etc. I tried this one based on the great MUA reviews and I just love it. It's perfect. I have the oiliest skin and this BB is absolutely wonderful for me. I don't think it would be good for dry skin though, as it seems a bit mattifying. It feels kind of "silicony" when you first put it on, but blends very well and sets to a beautiful, satiny smooth--NOT dewy or "slippery" finish. Only a pea-size amount covers my entire face. It has buildable coverage with a great SPF, and although it's listed as a primer also, I wear it alone. I'm NC25-30 and LIGHT is a perfect match. It has yellow undertones which I like to tone down the redness. If you have oily, or normal to oily skin, try this one. It's a winner.. :) UPDATE: After some time using this cream, I found that it became streaky after several hours and seems to clog my pores probably because I am SO oily. Started breaking out on nose and chin after several weeks of using this, maybe all that silicone in it? I don't know, but had to switch.. :(

BB Cream -Urban Decay - Naked Skin Beauty Balm
rated 2 of 5
kitty55 4/15/2013 3:54:00 PM

I have to say this is a "strange" product. I think we all expect SOME coverage along with whatever enhancements BBs provide, but this product is ONLY an enhancer. I like it because it does blur my lines, pores, etc. It does NOT cover. I always use concealer over blemishes. I wear this alone with a touch of blush and have gotten many compliments on how smooth my skin looks? It leaves a smooth, matte finish which I like because I'm very oily. I can understand all the complaints about the ONE shade. I happened to luck out being NC25 with yellow undertones so it's a perfect match for me, but I can't begin to fathom the "universal shade" bit. No way will this match everyone. And yes, the scent is an annoying mint that fortunately disappears immediately after applying. I'm not sure I'd buy this again because of the price, but it is very unique.. UPDATE: I decided I won't buy this again. That smooth, matte finish lasts about an hour and then my face looks greasy and bare, blurring effects are all gone. Haven't gotten anymore compliments on my skin either, heehee. Like I said, "strange" product. I will try another and really can't recommend this one... :(

Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Full Cover Concealer
rated 5 of 5
kitty55 3/21/2013 4:07:00 PM

Simply the best! I have very oily, acne-prone skin and this is the only concealer that covers blemishes completely and lasts. It is too heavy for under-eye use, but for any scars, tattoos, etc. it covers better than any I've used and I've used all of them. It is expensive, but only a tiny bit is needed for each use and the packaging is sanitary and you can control the amount of product that comes out. One tube lasts me a full year so I feel it is worth the money. I am NC25-30 and use shade 5.

Concealers -Givenchy - Mister Light
rated 5 of 5
kitty55 2/17/2013 3:23:00 PM

The BEST. Totally hides dark circles, brightens under-eye area, does not settle into lines. lasts all day on oily skin, hydrating, but not greasy, what more could you want from an eye concealer? I have used countless concealers and nothing comes close to this one. It's not cheap, but it delivers. I am NC25 and I wear #4. Love it..

Eye Primer -Smashbox - Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
rated 5 of 5
kitty55 2/17/2013 3:17:00 PM

This is expensive, but worth every penny. I have dark circles and bags under my eyes. And did I mention wrinkles too? So first I dab on a bit of Benefit's "Its Potent" eye cream to hydrate and tighten. (Love that also) Then I apply this primer over that to brighten, smooth and diffuse lines, etc. Last I use Givenchy's Mister Light concealer pen (also excellent and more opaque than YSL) only on the dark circle. The result is amazing. It takes years off my face. This product is excellent for diffusing light away from under-eye flaws. Love it. Buy it..
