Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics - Brow-Zing in Dark
kitsy 2/11/2011 12:43:00 AM
I am light blonde but I use the dark very sparingly and blend using just the powdered side right now. This stuff will last me the rest of my life. It looks natural ( if blended properly) and lasts all day no problem!! Well pigmented, and the tiny brushes are just the right sizes. I will never run out because a little goes SUCH a long way, but if I lost it or something I would def. repurchase.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Natureluxe Liquid Silk Foundation
kitsy 2/11/2011 12:25:00 AM
I actually really like this foundation. It is very lightweight, non-cakey, yet provides enough coverage. It is a liquid/cream/mousse, and blends very well and very easily without much rubbing. I apply with my fingers. The packaging is in a squeeze-bottle, which I love because it doesnt get contaminated that way. It still looks fresh and beautiful on my skin after a 10 hour workday! Plus, it doesnt turn colors on me, and matches my skin perfectly. I am too light for any MAC makeup for reference. You dont need powder as this dries to a very soft, non-dewey finish. It is a bit much for drugstore m/u- $12+ IMHO, but I would repurchase. My mom loves it too, and she is 62.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Daphne
kitsy 9/23/2010 5:57:00 PM
The color of this shadow is super bright and lovely!! Almost like a dark neon purple, and I have never seen another es color like it. I would repurchase it just for that reason alone. As far as quality though I have to say I am REALLY dissapointed. This is my 1st and only NARS shadow and I was expecting it to be very velvety and smooth. I applied it dry with a brush over UDPP and it was terrible- blotchy and uneven. I actually had to go back over it with an Urban Decay es to even it out. I will try it again tomorrow without UDPP and maybe over lightly powdered lids to see if that makes application smoother- great color though!

Masks -Philosophy - The Microdelivery Purifying Peel
kitsy 8/5/2010 1:48:00 PM
I am a philosophy girl 100% so I thought nothing of shelling out the $ for this because I knew it would be awesome if its from Philosophy. Hmm...not so much. I have used it several times and saw no difference whatsoever! What? My skin loves their stuff usually! I even left it on longer and nothing. I think it just might be TOO gentle- I want something that is gonna get in there and clean out my pores. This didnt even tingle and my skin didnt look glowy and refreshed like it does after the 2 step microdelivery peel (my HG!!) I am actually going to return it, what a dissapointment.

Foundations -Vincent Longo - Liquid Canvas "Dew Finish Foundation"
kitsy 11/20/2007 4:05:00 PM
I was verrry lucky in that I got severalof these at Ulta for 75% off because they were not going to carry the line anymore! I adore VLWC, but it can be a pain to put on, especially if there is not much left in the container...Anyhoo, I love love love the moist, non-oily, non-greasy, dewy finish this provides. At the end of the day instead of looking like an oil slick, I glow. I have combo skin, oily in the t-zone, dry at the corners of my mouth when the seasons change. This is not drying, and provides a light even coverage whihc is very easily blended. One of my other favorites about this mu is that it is a pump dispenser!! Tres sanitary, and it keeps the product fresher longer because no air or contaminates can enter!! It also has spf 15 I believe (I am at work). It does not look like makeup, just purely fresh dewy skin that feels light and airy. A+.

Masks -Serious Skin Care - Triple-Acting Glycolic Mask
kitsy 11/20/2007 3:55:00 PM
This stuff is actually great. It has taken a while to grow on me. I use retin a, have acne prone combo skin which is also sensitive. Upon first application this mask stings a bit, then dries to a tight finish whihc sucks out the oil from my nose, while the glycolic acid smoothes my skin beautifully with no redness or irritation whatsoever. I can use it a couple times a week if I fee like it, and it noticeably clears my pores and smoothes out any uneveness or discoloration. I got it on clearance at Ulta along with the Vit. C moisture cushion mask and the sulfer acne mask which are not bad either, but not as good as the glycolic acid mask. I would definately repurchase.

Mascara -Lancome - Fatale Brilliant (Diamante)
kitsy 11/7/2007 4:36:00 PM
Lancome managed to come up with quite possibly the most horrible brush concept ever with this product. I could live with it if it had a normal brush, even though you cant really see the sparkles that much. But the brush- or three sided-comb rather, manages to make pre-mascara-ed that have been meticulously seperated into about 4 or 5 spikes of goo. Between the three combs lay the silver-flecked grey-tinted sparkle gel. Lashes have to pass through this river of glop to get any product on, then be reswept by the comb to distribute it. The comb teeth are spaced so far apart, and are so dang short, I end up with wet, gloppy, spidery, spikey lashes. I will try it with a seperate spooley brush, which should make things better, but for the price (twenty-something) It should come with an half decent delivery system on its own. Desperately needs to be repackaged!!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
kitsy 11/7/2007 4:27:00 PM
This stuff is crap. I think they pay to have this mascara listed as one of the best beauty products. The brush is a spike-inducing spiral, and by the mid-afternoon I had black smears under my eyes just from blinking! Total waste of money.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Sun Protection Eye Cream spf 32
kitsy 11/7/2007 4:22:00 PM
I actually like this product alot. I tried Clarins spf 30 eye cream and it burned! This does not burn. It is not greasy, nor it it particularly moisturizing, whihc is why I took off 1 lippie. I know its purpose it sun protection, but I can use some moisture too, it would be nice if it were all in 1. If I get it too close to my lower lashline, things look slightly blurry for a half hour or so, doesnt sting though. Packaging is very hygenic, it is a tube with a little nozzle at the end so you can get just the right amount out- no finger dipping into a pot of cream (yuck!). Overall, this is a very good product, and will last forever. I used to use the spf 15 eye cream which was good also, but I really appreciate the higher spf because it is hard to find a sunblock with an spf higher than 15 that wont burn the eyes.

Polishes -Chanel - Holographic
kitsy 3/29/2007 5:58:00 PM
This is a Europe/Canada/Asia exclusive, but I managed to get my hot little hands on a set (by paying a grotesque amount on ebay- $50). I say set because there are 2 bottles of polish, one is a basecoat that helps the holographic polish adhere better to the nail. Upon first swipe I was immediately dissapointed, it just looked like plain silver! Then the miracle occurred- as the varnish dried, millions of colors and reflections burst forth in a brilliance I didnt think possible on nails! It dried SUPER quick, and it would have been just fine with one coat, but I put on another anyway. The holographic effect was enhanced even more. The wear is still up in the air. I did not put on a top coat, and my nails peel so it chipped very quickly. I think a topcoat will help immensley. As for the texture, it is comparable to a regular metallic nail polish. It is not glitter at all, just very very fine shimmering particles that are imperceptable to the eye. Though it is sooooooo expensive, so expensive, and HTF I just might buy another set just because this stuff is so awesome. China Glaze Visit me in prism, OPI DS shimmer and any others I have tried are absolutely no comparison.

Polishes -OPI - Friar Friar Pants On Fire !
kitsy 3/23/2007 1:53:00 PM
I LOVE this color. It is a firey-red that is slightly orangey, but very metallic. I have 2 bottles of it with the pro-wide brush. It is so beautiful and bright on fingers or toes.

Mascara -Fusion Beauty - Lash Fusion
kitsy 3/23/2007 1:51:00 PM
This did separate very well, I will give it that. I found this to be gummy. It smudged underneath my eyes from my top lashes and never quite seemed to fully dry. After washing my face and removing the stuff, I still woke up with raccoon eyes. It took a couple DAYS for it to finally wear off on its own. My biggest gripe was that it did not stay where it was suppposed to (on my lashes) it migrated to my undereye area constantly.

Scrubs -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Perfumed Hot Salt Scrub
kitsy 11/25/2006 1:24:00 AM
I am biased to begin with because I do not like salt scrubs as they usually burn me. This does not, but I do not like how huge the granuals are. It is extremely thick because I think it is supposed to be used on dry skin first, but I always forgot and then wanted to use it in the bathtub. It does not spread well on wet skin, and the scent does not linger at all once you rinse. It is non-oily which is a plus, but at the same time, there are no other discernable moisturizing qualities. I simply prefer sugar scrubs, and I wish Philosophy would start making some for those of us who do not like the salt.
