Eye Shadow -Stila - Delaunay Eye Shadow
kitkat85 8/12/2003 2:34:00 AM
Wow! I didn't think I would like this e/s so much, but it's really pretty. In the pan, Launey is a plain, straight up peach shimmer, but on my NC20 lids, this little e/s just brightens up my eyes completely. It's great to use as a wash of color w/ just some mascara for a simple look, or to use a base for deeper, bronzey/brown shades. The quality is typical Stila - highly pigmented & blendable. Great e/s - esp. for LLLs like myself :)

Eye Makeup Remover -Clinique - Naturally Gentle Eye Makeup Remover
kitkat85 8/11/2003 11:16:00 PM
I like this stuff OK. Received it 2x in GWPs & have used both tubes completely. It's a a fairly gentle, light gel-cream makeup remover. No weird smells or greasy residue left behind. 2 complaints: this remover doesn't take off my eye m/u completely (& I don't use waterproof mascara or hard to take off e/s) & it does seem to slightly irritate my eyes - making them water quite a bit after using it. Overall, OK, but not something I would probably buy again.

Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
kitkat85 8/2/2003 11:23:00 AM
I've been using this powder for about 18 months & I still have some left in the tub. It's a decent powder, ideal for setting liquid foundations & concealers. I use the shade Transparency Neutral (MAC NC20, LLL) which has some yellow tones. Doesn't go on chalky or fake looking, but also doesn't seem to be very long lasting or great at keeping the oilies at bay. Overall a nice powder but I'm not wowed by it.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #316 Covered Lip Brush
kitkat85 8/2/2003 11:19:00 AM
I love this lip brush! I didn't realize the importance of a lip brush until I got the 316 in a MAC holiday set. I tried it out & love it so much more than just applying straight from the tube! W/ this brush I can sheer out the color & reach into the corners of my mouth easily. Love, love, love this & will rebuy when this one wears out.

Powder -Stila - Illuminating Powder Foundation
kitkat85 8/2/2003 11:17:00 AM
Wow! I never thought anything could best my MAC Studiofix, but IPF has far surpassed it!! This powder provides light coverage w/ a slightly dewy finish, perfect for my combo-slightly oily skin. I prefer to apply it w/ the sponge included, sometimes I use a brush, but this provides very sheer coverage. Overall, a wonderful product & HG for me! The initial investment is a little $$$, but after that, this foundation is about the same price as most high-ends. I'm MAC NC20 & 20 watts works well for me :)

Blush -Stila - Soar
kitkat85 7/31/2003 3:30:00 PM
Soar is such a pretty blush! It lends a soft, peachy-pink glow to my cheeks, great for natural m/u days or for when you have a strong eye or lip look going on. The color itself isn't terribly unique, but the soft, subtle silvery shimmer is gorgeous separates Soar from other such pink-peach blushes. The texture & lasting-power is great, as w/ all Stila blushes. A definite winner in my book!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice in Berry Burst
kitkat85 7/29/2003 11:20:00 AM
I love the texture & fruity smell of this gloss, but the color leaves a lot to be desired. In the tube, Berry Burst is a gorgeous medium pink w/ tiny sparkles. On my highly pigmented lips, it's just a clear gloss w/ very slight iridescence. It might show up better on people w/ less color in their lips, but on me this l/g just doesn't do it :P

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser (Normal to Oily Skin)
kitkat85 7/22/2003 3:49:00 PM
I tried this b/c I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel & I was very surprised to find that I actually like this stuff! This low-lathering gel formula has light, clean scent & cleans all my makeup up easily. It leaves my combo-oily skin feeling clean & smooth, not tight or dry. You get a generous 8 oz for a mere $4, so this is definitely going to be a staple for me :)

Eye Shadow -Stila - Italian Ices Trio in Uno (Blue)
kitkat85 7/22/2003 2:29:00 AM
I rally wanted one of the Italian Ices trios b/c of the adorable packaging & decide that Uno was probably the most unique of the 3. I really like this trio! The colors are gorgeous - quite sheer (except for the deepest blue) & beautifully shimmery, making them very wearable. This trio really brightens my green eyes up & is great for summer when paired w/ a peachy pink blush & sheer l/g. I did take off a l/s b/c these shadows seem to crease a little faster tham most Stila e/s, but no biggie, just use a good base underneath :)

Lipstick -Jane - Lip Huggers in Boy Crazy
kitkat85 7/22/2003 2:23:00 AM
This is one of my all-time favorite cheap lippies :) Boy Crazy is a creamy, slighly shimmery pinky-silver-beige. Sounds weird, but tones down my pigmented lips nicely & gives them a gorgeous not-quite-nude-but-very-natural look ;) Also makes them look fuller - always a plus! Definitely worth a try for those w/ highly pigmented lips (like myself!), but for those w/ paer lips, it may wash you out a bit. Great buy for $3!

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Whipped Silk Body Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
kitkat85 7/21/2003 2:07:00 AM
I actually really like this cheapie lotion! I was drawn in by the way it dispenses in the shape of real whipped cream, & figured at $3 for 14 oz, why not? This thick lotion is soothes my legs after shaving & even keeps my rough, dry elbows moisturized. It sinks right in to the skin, leaving in feeling really soft, but not at all greasy. I took off a l/s for the scents though - there are only 2 available, one of which is utterly unbearable & the other (Fresh Orchard Mist) is tolerable at best, but I can deal w/ the latter scent if this stuff keeps my skin happy!

Bronzers -Sonia Kashuk - Golden Cream Bronzer
kitkat85 7/21/2003 1:59:00 AM
I picked this little bronzer up at Target b/c it was cheap ($7.99) & I'd never tried a creamy bronzer before. The product comes in a sleek silver compact, w/ a decent mirrow, & a silly little sponge applicator. It looks kind of blah-brown-tan in the compact, but, blended (using fingers) on cheeks, around the hairline, on nose & chin, it gives this amazing tan glow to my NC20 complexion! This cream goes on smoothly w/ no shimmer & just adds a subtle bronziness to the skin. Definitely pick this up if you have a chance! :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Sky High Curves Extreme Length and Curl [DISCONTINUED]
kitkat85 7/14/2003 4:00:00 PM
OK...I think I'm in the minority on this one, but I hated this mascara :( I had really high hopes for it, but it was awful on my dark, somewhat thick, fairly long lashes. This mascara has a really dry formula & turned hard on my lashes. It clumped up *a lot* & the so called 30 degree curl? As if! My lashes were curlier before I put this on! I'm giving it 2 l/s b/c it did lengthen OK, but the negatives far outweigh the positives w/ this one.

Palettes -Stila - stila 4 pan metal
kitkat85 7/14/2003 3:55:00 PM
I just love these Metal 4-pans! They're so much sturdier than the old cardboard ones, & are a much more convenient size than the 6 & 8 pans. These palettes are pretty reasonably priced when compared to other Stila items, & the quality is great. I already have 2 & will be buying several more :)

Eye Shadow -Stila - Jezebel Eyeshadow
kitkat85 7/14/2003 3:49:00 PM
I love this e/s! Jezebel is a golden-peachy-bronze w/ shimmer - the perfect summery e/s! I love to wear this on the lid w/ Twig as a liner. Jezebel really makes my green eyes stand out. It looks kind of orangy in the pan, but goes on w/ no orange whatesoever (at least on me). The quality is great, just as w/ all Stila e/s. A total winner of an e/s IMO :)
