Fragrances -Calvin Klein - IN2U
kitchensink01 5/3/2012 8:22:00 AM
CK IN2U smells strongly of tangy citrus, citrus and more citrus. It smells sour to me. Then it fades to a milder citrus . The citrus (bergamot?) never entirely fades away. It lingers on and on. After a few hours of smelling like sour citrus fruit, then the vanilla creeps in. The base is very nice indeed. By then, the citrus is there to complement the base not overpower it. If the top notes were less in your face citrus, then it'd be better balanced. The bottle looks a bit cheap with the white plastic covering the glass bottle. I have a 100mL tester bottle and will be using this occasionally as a backup fragrance but will not repurchase once I finish it.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Dior Addict 2
kitchensink01 4/29/2012 12:40:00 PM
This is a sweet fruity floral scent. I find it to be more sweet fruity than floral. It starts of with a sweet blast of mandarin and grapefruit that lasts for a couple of hours. Very uplifting. Then the flowers come in but more sweet fruits are the feature and I can still smell it at the end of my work day. The base has a clean white musk that I love and look for in all my fragrances. I suppose white musk is a signature of my favourite fragrances. The base is very long lasting and I can still smell it the next day. Overall, I can understand if people find it a bit too sweet. There is a warmth in the scent that makes it wearable in cold weather. In fact, I'm surprised this is an EDT. It is as strong as an EDP. 2 sprays in winter and 1 spray in summer is enough for me. I will definitely repurchase but then by time I finish my big bottle, Dior is likely to have either discontinued or reformulated this happy fragrance.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Ego - QV Gentle Wash Re-Hydrate
kitchensink01 4/22/2012 11:48:00 AM
This is better than Cetaphil wash. I use it to remove makeup and as a body wash because I have eczema. It is suitable for use all over the body incl. face. Doesn't clog my pores or dry it out and cleans very well. I like that there's no fragrance to this and will not clash with my perfume. It is however more expensive to use as a body wash when compared to J&J or Palmolive body wash products. I only buy 1L bottles to keep the cost per mL as low as possible.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
kitchensink01 4/22/2012 11:29:00 AM
I have been using this mild cleanser as a facial cleanser for a very long time. It is pharmaceutical grade and suitable for sensitive skin. However it is not strong enough to remove makeup. It will not dry out skin. I have to massage it into my t-zone for a longer period of time to allow the oil on my face to be removed but this is better than using a cleanser for oily skin as that can dry out other areas of my face. Per mL, this is one of the cheapest facial cleanser anyone can buy. I buy the 1L bottle and that lasts a while.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Euphoria

This is a spicy floral that is very long lasting. I'm allergic to certain flowers that are used to make perfumes. This is one of them. The scent itself is not bad but because I'm not able to wear it without taking allergy medications, I will not be repurchasing this fragrance.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
kitchensink01 4/12/2012 11:08:00 AM
This is the best lip gloss I've ever used. I always have a tube in my life ever since I discovered them years ago. My lips peel on a daily basis EXCEPT when I use JT. I've tried other lip treatments, balms, etc, but my lips still peel. It is thick and a little goes a long way. It is super sticky and my long hair gets stuck when it's windy but this is the only con. I recommend the non-sparkling colours. Peach is the most versatile and it is more pigmented than other colours. JTs are so good that I've replaced lost tubes because I can't not have one at all times even though they're very $$$ for lip glosses.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
kitchensink01 4/12/2012 10:55:00 AM
No caking, no sliding off my face. I have very oily t zone and very dry flaky cheeks and it's a nightmare trying to find a foundation that doesn't cake AND slide off at the same time. It gives a natural finish. While it won't slide off my face, it doesn't control oil very well but then I use a powder to set anyway. It's easier to control oil with powder than fix foundation caking on dry flakes. Very easy to apply with fingers or brush. I mix it in with moisturiser for a sheerer look for daily use. I use a brush to apply it traditionally for more formal occasions. It just doesn't fail. I've gone from not wearing foundation at all to wearing Diorskin Nude most days.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Beyond Paradise
kitchensink01 4/12/2012 10:34:00 AM
I have used BP on and off from its release. It's a floral fragrance with a lot of tropical fruitiness in it. It does start of with a very sweet fruity note which I find to be too cloying at times. Then it dries down to a wonderful floral fragrance that is truly unique. No other fragrance reminds me of BP. It's that unique and hence worthy of having a small bottle for occasional use. It's too much for me as a daily fragrance. I find that it's best to use a little and reapply throughout the day rather than spray a lot at the start to make it last longer. This should make the overly sweet top note bearable while waiting for the middle and base notes to appear.

Treatments (Eye) -Shiseido - Benefiance Concentrated Anti-wrinkle Eye Cream
kitchensink01 12/25/2011 5:07:00 AM
This is very hydrating, thanks to the mineral oil in the formulation. However, because it has mineral oil, I developed milia so I had to discontinue to product. If you tolerate mineral oil which is a very good moisturiser, then this eye cream would be a good but very expensive choice. Only a little will go a long way and the small jar will last quite a while.

Toners -Elizabeth Arden - Hydra-Splash Alcohol Free Toner
kitchensink01 12/25/2011 4:51:00 AM
This is very good toner just because it contains NO alcohol. Another is Clinique Clarifying Lotion for dry skin but that is very expensive. It is quite hard to find a toner without alcohol that hasn't been discontinued. I use this toner to rehydrate my face before applying a moisturiser. My face becomes dry and tight incredibly quickly after washing so toning will help the moisturiser sink into the skin.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Pure Poison
kitchensink01 2/28/2011 3:32:00 AM
This is a strong floral fragrance. It's very complex and sensuous fragrance. A strong blast of orange blossom marks the start. The drydown is like a jasmine bomb. I find it fabulous as a signature scent for winter because it smells warm. Lasts all day and longer. 2 sprays are enough and I can still smell it the next day on my clothes. I love it that I don't need to touch up and the fragrance is still beautiful. Update (Aug 2012): I've had the same bottle since 2007 and lately I've noticed a stale note has started to appear. I believe the fragrance has started to go stale despite keeping out of sunlight in a drawer. In light of this, I will only buy a small bottle of this or store in a fridge since I tend to rotate between fragrances. If you live in the tropics or desert, beware as it will go stale within a couple of years. Above all, buy fresh stock by checking the batch code on the box.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Hemp Face Protector
kitchensink01 9/28/2010 8:54:00 AM
I have been using the hemp face protector for years now and it's the best for my very dry flaky (painful) cheeks. Keeps the bits of flaky skin at bay and doesn't make the oily t zone worse. I've tried many hydrating creams like Elizabeth Arden's 24 hr Perpetual Moisture cream but just keep coming back to the hemp. Alas, it has been DISCONTINUED in Australia! Without it, my skin has become a dry flaky mess... Update (23/04/2012) - was relaunched by TBS. Hooray! I was never able to find a replacement for this wonderful product.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - J'adore - L'eau de Toilette
kitchensink01 1/16/2005 5:09:00 AM
Update (23/04/12): I updated my review on the original 2003 EDT J'adore 10 days ago. Since I had nearly finished my bottle, I went to the local Dior counter to buy another bottle. Unhappily, I learnt that Dior had reformulated J'adore EDT twice since my original purchase. The current J'adore is nothing like the original! Where is the pear note? I can't detect the citrus notes anymore. The actual new scent is not bad but it's more like White Diamonds than the classic J'adore that I know and love. I find that it's misleading of Dior to launch what is now an entirely new perfume under the J'adore name. I pray that Givaudan, the company that created the original for Dior will be able to somehow release the original under a new name. I'll buy the original in a heartbeat, regardless of what the name is. I just don't know if I want to purchase the new J'adore. For now, I'm without a summer signature scent. :-( Update (13/04/12): 7 years on from my original review, I can attest to the longevity of the fragrance. I think the scent has 'matured' slightly due to the length of time I've had the same bottle but it still smells awesome. This is a very clean and fresh fragrance. I love this during warm days but dislike it during cold days. Not overpowering and subtler than the EDP. Could be longer lasting though.
